About this property

This newly finished spacious home is halfway between the shops, restaurants and boat ramps of Opononi and Omapere, so take your pick - there's plenty to do - fishing charters, sand boarding down the sand dunes etc.

Sit on the large, private deck and enjoy the expansive view of the harbour, walk across the road to the beach or make the most of the hot fishing spots in and outside of the harbour.

Plenty of room for everyone and their boats, with boat and fish cleaning facilities, or perfect for a family holiday in a safe, child friendly and wheelchair friendly house.

The downstairs area can sleep 8, with one bathroom. The upstairs area with queen bed and second bathroom is only available on request, and incurs an extra fee of $40 per night to the base rental.

Fantastic stay at The Bar in Hokianga!

This lovely homely holiday house has everything you need and more. The house is across the road (2mins) walk to the beach or an easy drive to more stunning locations. It has a well stoked kitchen with a massive oven and hob - all you need to bring is food! Wonderful setup for our family holiday. Gary is very awesome and accomodating. We will definitely be back to experience more of this beautiful spot. :)

Home away from home .

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay here. We had the whole place to ourselves. The view was awesome. Peaceful and quiet. The community up there was so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back for a holiday.😃

Omapere bliss

The property was very easy to find, central to both Omapere and Opononi. We had a group of 9, and the space this home allowed and offered was beyond our expectations. Gorgeous view of the dunes; and wrap around balcony so we had the option of indoor outdoor sitting, great big kitchen, fridge and a stand alone chest freezer for extra storage. Lots of cupboards for storage of dried goods, plenty cutlery and crockery and full oven and stove. We were well equipped if we wanted to BBQ, slow roast, or cook top cooking. I would recommend this again for larger groups. Two bathrooms, one with a gorgeous three corner spa bath, and 4 generous rooms it really did tick all the boxes for comfort for mixed family get away. We had problems only caused by our own doing; and communication with the bach manager was so easy, I really did appreciate being able to speak with her and discuss the matter. Happily return, and happy to recommend. Thank you for a gorgeous opportunity to highlight the Hokianga with a group of first timers x

Take the weight off your feet at The Bar Hokianga

What a great place for the extended family, plenty of room spaciously spread out...did I mention the oven, 2 lamb roasts and the trimmings all cooked at once. The neighbours are friendly as and everything is a short walk. Thanks for everything Garry and Kimberley.
