Quiet and peaceful with beautiful views and so close to the Abel Tasman Park. You can walk to the beach for an early morning swim and you have a choice of 2 cafes both within walking distance. Tasman Golf course is a walk away as well as many other courses a short drive. The village of Mapua is just a short drive away where you will find award winning restaurants, bars and cafes. Artists are plentiful and there are many galleries to visit in the region. Nelson wines are becoming very well known internationally and there are many to visit in the area. A tour can be organised or you can ask advice and make one yourself. The Abel Tasman Park is a must see where you can kayak and walk or enjoy a day on the amazing turquoise water admiring the golden beaches. Golden Bay is a day trip away and well worth the windy drive. Gill is around to help you plan your trips and get the best advice for things to see and do.

Such a lovely few days wish we could have stayed longer. Relaxing and beautifully presented with a gorgeous outlookLittle extras greatly appreciated. 5 stars!
An attractively decorated, quiet place with very welcoming hosts. Very clean and comfortable, lots of tips for days out and some yummy items left for our arrival. A great break !!
We stayed for three nights in this beautiful cottage. Everything in the cottage was exquisite, from the decor to the treats. The attention to detail is really 2nd to none.
We slept so soundly in the gorgeous bed, it was so quiet and peaceful yet close to the fun down at Mapua if we wanted to join it.
Easy cycling distance to Motueka over the cycle route, and also easy biking to swim at gorgeous Kina Peninsula.
We felt like royalty.
Very highly recommend this beautiful accommodation. Honestly can’t fault it at all. Very attentive host who had thought of every detail! We were only they for two nights but felt able to unwind from the outset.
Planning to return.
Thanks so much
We have stayed at many places over the years, but this has been the best! A truly exceptional property, hosted by two truly exceptional owners. The suite is gorgeous, decorated beautifully in colors that match the ocean a short drive away. The furnishings, towels, dishes, etc are all high quality. The bathroom is spacious & luxurious, with an overhead heater and towel heater. If you choose to have them nearby (as we did), the resident sheep are allowed into the field beside the suite, where you can enjoy watching them & even petting the friendlier ones. The hosts have thought of every detail to make one feel welcome - including the most generous and lovely assortment of food, drink and snacks, and even a bottle of NZ wine! They made excellent recommendations to us, including two fabulous restaurants and the highlight of our trip to the South Island - a day long excursion by catamaran into Abel Tasman Park! Gill and Ian are wonderful people, who we felt an immediate connection with, had great chats with, and who became new friends who felt like old friends. A 10 star rating (out of 5)!
The guest cottage was beautifully appointed - comfortable, modern, and very peaceful and private. We so appreciated the extra thoughtful touches such as snacks and chocolate on our arrival too. We loved it.
This home is rare in being so much better than the photos showed! A very well appointed home, gorgeous views of farmland, mountains and the sea, and a close bike road to a good swimming beach. A very relaxing stay with great hosts, will be recommending to friends and hope to be back soon :)
This is a great property. Great location for visiting galleries, wineries and beaches. Beautiful and clean and lots of little extras that were really appreciated. Thanks Gill

Wonderful place in a perfect spot! Love it!!
we spent there the last days of our honeymoon on the southern island. what a perfect choice! the cottage is perfectly located on the outskirts of Tasman, and is within walking distance of both kina beach and kina wineyards! It is located on a small hill with an outside patio where we used to relax and listen to the birds singing in the morning or watching the starry sky at night. It is very spacious for two people and is equipped with everything you may need; very clean and functional. Furnished with taste and attention to detail, to give it a very special character. gill and ian were exceptional hosts leaving us with lots of tips on activities and restaurants in the area. really beautiful people ! We promised ourselves one day we will go back!

Lovely rural location with sheep grazing outside but very centrally located for the greater Tasman district. A perfect place to stay. Gillian has created a relaxed but comfy-luxurious beach vibe style with everything thought of, including breakfast and snack provisions for the first few days of your stay. An extremely comfortable bed ensured a great nights rest. We also made good use of the BBQ for cooking some evening meals. We felt very pampered and privileged to have stayed.

A Good Knight's Rest is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.
A Good Knight's Rest is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is much more spacious than it appears in the photos and is well equipped with everything you'd need for an effortless stay. Gillian had included a wonderful range of treats for us too so we felt very spoilt!
