CLARIS/RETRO CARAVAN is situated on a pretty,scenic coastline garden site in Beachlands.Fitted out with every need for a perfect,blissful getaway, you will watch stunning stars while you nestle down into the gardens natural beauty and birdlife, and Claris will keep you cosy and warm.Ideal for romantics,those who enjoy the evening skys,the sunsets and a little twist of Quintessential kiwi Flavour.The pohutukawa coast boasts some of the most picturesque beaches in the region with safe,shelly beaches suitable for swimming at high tide,and at low tide you can walk to historic Motukaraka island and explore its deserted shores.The coastal settlement of beachlands stretches into other coastal communities via the picturesque link track,that also circles through Omana regional parks mangroves and pockets of rainforest. Maretai beach,which is also close,is used frequently by Photographers and Film Crew,as well as folk just wanting to enjoy the white shelly beaches and stunning views of Waiheke island.If you enjoy swimming,walking,diving,Fishing and eating out,it is all here for you and possibly you may get some tips from locals on where the secret little fishing spots are!
We also hire Retro bikes with baskets to explore the cycleways and quiet urban streets of beachlands or to simply get you down to one of the many beaches at your doorstep.As we are at the gateway to the link track you are spoilt for choice to enjoy the many clifftop picnic spots amongst ancient pohutukawa.
Please note this is a shared space for bathroom facilities.

Claris is a dream ride
Everything about this experience was perfect. Mikeil was delightful to deal with. The camper was clean, functional, equipped with jazz and chill cds and inbuilt stereo. The decor was gorgeous and I was able to enjoy it all while cooking dinner and enjoy a glass of red in a tranquil, secure location close to amenities. I will definitely be booking Claris again in future.

Mieke, Claris, the whole shebang!
I don’t know where to start with this review. Mieke was absolutely amazing to deal with. She was incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. Her set up with claris is absolutely epic. My partner and I adored staying here. Couldn’t recommend this unique experience enough

Really amazing caravan, had such a great time. Unfortunately water pump wasn’t working though didn’t effect us too much (tap water 10metres away). Mieke was very accommodating and I believe lived nearby in case of any issues (we had none). Fast replies and description was accurate. Will happily refer friends and family :)

Magical experience!
My husband and I decided to spend our wedding night in Claris and what a great decision that was! It was truly unique and romantic. Fitted out in awesome retro style but with lots of modern touches. Mieke was fantastic to deal with, great communication and she was very accommodating of our requests. Highly recommend for a memorable experience!

Staying at Claris was not an accommodation but a lifetime experience that everyone should taste at least once in a lifetime. I stayed in Omana park with lots of amenities. Mieke was extremely helpful and great. Her music collection was also a great plus for you to enter the aura of 60ies within the Claris. It was just perfect. I made the time travel, thanks to Mieke and Claris.

Claris is such a fantastic little idea that is unbelievably unique and a wonderful little get away.
Claris is such a fantastic little idea that is unbelievably unique and a wonderful little get away. Super romantic and the perfect hide-away, would recommend this a hundred times over. The extra's that you can rent with the caravan are completely worth it, the bikes especially being the perfect way to get around the region up and down the coast. Such a lovely lovely place and I'd recommend staying in the regional park! Lovely stay, very clean and comfortable.

Claris is so cute.
Claris is so cute. Staying two nights was fun and most memorable. Auckland is only a fast ferry ride away from Pine Harbour. I recommend taking the option of locating Claris in the Omana Regional Park with the Tamaki Strait at the door. If you want to escape the ordinary, Claris fits the bill.

Fantastic place to stay we totally fell in love with 'Claris'.
Fantastic place to stay we totally fell in love with 'Claris'. A lovingly restored delightful little gem. It was a real treat to stay here and we'd love to return. We especially appreciated the attention to detail which was apparent in the caravan itself, but equally in the hospitality offered. Staying in Claris was for us the perfect retro-romantic weekend escape!

It's hard to contain the superlatives & praise.
It's hard to contain the superlatives & praise. Claris was an extraordinarily wonderful venue for a peaceful, romantic, delightful break. From those who want a get-away to those who want to experience days gone by, this little gem takes the experience to the endth degree. Perfectly bedecked from the stereo & music, the colour schemes to the comfortable cane chairs & snuggle-blankets under the awning Claris is the quinessential retro experience with romanticism & comfort.

Mieke was fantastic to deal with, recommended her favourite swimming spot & track to Omana Park. We appreciated everything she did for us & recommend to all. "Claris" the caravan was absolutely beautiful and so well set out.We were impressed ! We used the Webber BBQ to cook our dinner and loved sitting & having a drink outside on the lovely comfy chairs.5 minutes walk to the beach. Loved the special touches such as Nectar soap & glass wine/beer. We will be back!

I was born in the south Island and grew up exploring the rainforests and rivers that sprinkle down the length of the island.With fond memories of a safe and free childhood exploring the golden sands and beaches there,I l dreamed of somehow creating that sense of absolute freedom and simplicity in the outdoors again and decided to bring back to life a 1960s caravan that was an iconic part of the great kiwi childhood in the 60s and 70s.A exciting Caravan rebuild project was begun in 2015 and CLARIS was reborn!!She was discovered in ditch about to be bulldozed in and I essentially came to the rescue of a "damsel in distress"!!
Now all the romantics and intrepid travellers and explorers can re live the quinntessential kiwiana holidays that were spent on the NZ beaches in the summer in this little iconic gal,she is not just a sleepover but a true kiwi experience set in our stunning outdoors!!
