Muri Lodge is set in a 1/2 acre of tropical gardens which are yours to enjoy exclusively during your stay. Set on a small hill to catch the cooling Trade Winds, Muri Lodge is a tranquil hideaway from the stress of everyday life. The Lodge offers large living and entertaining spaces, which are perfect for large families or wedding groups. There is a big hot plate in the kitchen as well as a barbeque, so ask your friends to join you for dinner. The pool will keep the children entertained while adults unwind, and enjoy some adult time. Muri Lodge is just a short walk to a stunning and famous stretch of tropical beach. It's also just a short walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and our famous night market. Tourist attractions such as island nights, lagoon tours, kayak and paddle board hire and buggy tours are also just a short distance away. While it's great to de-stress don't forget to wake early at least once to catch the magnificent sunrises offered in Muri Beach.

This was a great location and we are very grateful they were able to accommodate us at the last minute when our booked accommodation fell through. It is set a little way up the hill from the beach and, whilst that means a bit of a walk to the sea, it also means it's quiet and has cooling breezes so that AC is not really needed. The house is part way through a renovation but everything functions well, the rooms are great and the outdoor areas are perfect for the family to gather. I would recommend this as a great place to stay in Rarotonga!

Great for a large family

We were a party of 7 adults, including 3 couples, and the size and bedroom configuration of Muri Lodge was perfect for us. It's in a great location; just a short walk to Muri lagoon and shops, but far enough away to be very peaceful and private. We used the pool and spacious living area a lot. The beds were comfortable. The property could use a bit of TLC; don't expect a palace. And the proximity of the wildlife could bother some people.

Ideal accommodation for families

Beautiful stay at Muri Lodge. The owner Fern was so lovely and welcoming. Made sure we were settled in and gave us useful info about the island. The house is ideal for families, children friendly. We had 11people plus an infant and we were very comfortable. A special thank you to Fern, her son and family for taking us in at Muri Lodge. Highly recommend this place to others Thanks again

Best family holiday

Muri Lodge exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect place to stay for our two families. Excellent location and very private. The living spaces and kitchen were spacious and the pool was a highlight. First timers in Raro and we absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back and would stay at Muri Lodge again.

Our Rarotonga stay

Muri Lodge was the perfect location for our extended family and the pool was in continuous use. We had some complications to our travel dates and the host was very accommodating and we were able to extend our stay. The property is being updated, so some parts are not as modern as others, but it is perfectly fine the way it is. We had some nights we sleep was disturbed by the neighbours dogs, but not every night. Be aware that your booking on this site is in US dollars and not NZ dollars, so there is extra expense in transaction fees. I would stay there again if I have the chance to go back to Rarotonga.

Brilliant Family Stay

11 adults and children seriously enjoyed our stay at Muri Lodge. Fantastic home, lovely pool and all within reach of beaches and Muri Night Market, and not forgetting Charlie's.

Some great things, some not so great

Awesome: the pool, the amount of space, great size table for dining, the number of towels provided, owner was ok about us leaving our bags after check out and before we got our airport transfer Not so awesome: lots of things are in need of an update - 1 shower door doesn't shut, corroded shower taps, fan in 1 bedroom clunks, sheets and pillows old and stained, mice in the kitchen, neighbours dogs barking through the night, fridge leaking brown gunk across the floor on arrival. Overall our group loved the stay and loved Rarotonga but would have appreciated some updating and better cleaning.

Great location and size of house

Muri Lodge is an easy walk down to lots of the local shops/market etc. the house is a great size with plenty of spaces to entertain. The pool was fabulous and we got lots of use out of it. Fern was great to deal with and nothing was a problem. Just be prepared for bugs and geckos- you cant avoid them on the island.

Spacious quiet house with great pool set in beautiful gardens Muri

Enjoyable week with group girlfriends in perfect position in Muri only 10 mins walk to shops. House great size for groups however needs spot of TLC and attention to security .

Family Holiday

We loved our stay at Muri Lodge, the house was big enough for 4 families 2 of which we had kids the rooms were really spacious and the 3 bathrooms were definitely handy. The lodge is so close and convenient to Vili's burgers and convenience stores. The house was safe and secure and did not have any worries while staying there. I would stay here again for sure. The kitchen had no hot water which wasnt a big deal as we would boil the jug and top up with cold water when we did dishes and the big hot plate inthe kitchen was perfect. Yes their are insects in the home but i wouldnt expect a home to be bug free when visiting the islands. The home was spacious and comfortable we had 7adults and 3 kids and their was plenty of room for us all. Thank you for having us in your home.

Great location and the lodge was satisfactory for our stay.

Overall I am recommending this lodge for all family holidays in Rarotonga. The facility is everything you need for a family group wanting to be together.

Big spacious family house

Had three families staying and we all had our own bathroom, place was clean and tidy and Fern was very accommodating. Close to shops and beach. Pool was great for kids and not so deep. Lots of space to lounge around in the sun or shade. Great entertaining areas especially the covered deck with large table to sit us all and even have quests over. Would definitely consider staying again if having another extended family trip. Also was great having two fridges and the indoor hot plate was amazing..

Great house, very spacious for our large family

Great house, very spacious for our large family. The cooktop was fantastic-a great addition! Overall, was well equipped :) Could use one or two more ceiling fans in the living room as you would need to try and sit directly under it due to the heat, but the pool definitely helped cool off anyway!

The pool and location of this property in Muri are the highlights here. The house is a little run down and open to the elements (open floorboards in one bedroom and dining area), so be prepared for no protection from mosquitos or mice. There were a few problems with hot water supply and despite the handyman coming to fix the issue, we continued to have to boil the jug to wash dishes each day. A second fridge should be provided for the number of guests. Otherwise a great holiday had by all.

We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived.

We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Pool was great, location great, house not perfect but that's what we like. It's big and easy to live in. Loved the large inside/outside room with the large table for sitting around at night. A few more sun loungers would be great and when requested Fern had 2 more delivered. We understand there are some on order. One of the best holidays ever.,

Location was great property was well serviced and tidy.

Location was great property was well serviced and tidy. We did find that the room off the kitchen could do with a mat or some sort of floor covering, as it did get a bit smelly, and a lot of mozzies due to the flooring being decking. Had a lot of sand shoes and flippers, googles etc for us to use which was great too. We will be back!
