About this Holiday House
Large, historic, character house, suitable for families and groups. This is a non-commercial, family owned and operated, authentic, rustic, kiwi Bach experience. Sit on the deck and watch time pass by as the estuary environment changes with the tides.
In its small town location, this is a self clean experience. Please leave the house the way you would like to find it. Sheets, pillow covers and towels are not provided so please bring your own. Our family wants to share the reality of kiwi batch life with you. Keeping it real…If you require things to be perfect, this isn’t the place for you.
Located across the road from the estuary and next door to the playground in Pounawea. Big views over the estuary and out to sea.
Quirky two living areas, two bedrooms with queen beds, one bunk room and a sunroom with bunks. Simple gully kitchen with oven, dishwasher, Nespresso, Microwave, Fridge.
Close to native forest walks. Kayaks available in garage to explore the estuary. Pounawea is a place to explore and relax in privacy.
PLEASE NOTE: No parties permitted due to residential area.

Sheltered area in the lovely garden among the native birds. Swimming or kayaking in the estuary over the road outside.
Attractions and Activities Nearby
4 minutes drive from Owaka, 1.5 hours from Invercargill or Dunedin. Owaka has a 4 Square, cafes, restaurants, pub and shopping.
33 Park Lane is a wonderful location to explore the Catlins from. The Nuggets, Kaka point, walks, tramps, sea lions, fishing, penguin viewing, Cathedral Caves, waterfalls and museums are all within an hours drive, and golf, tennis courts, bush walks, and beautiful beaches are less than 5 minutes away. Great playground right next door. There are some excellent bush walks through the native bush around the edge of the Pounawea Township.

Tea towels, duvets, pillows, blankets and cleaning supplies are provided. Please clean house prior to departure. Check in is at 2pm and check out is 11am.
