Te Mata Rural Escape

Our accommodation is a modern, fully furnished wing, which sits upon 2 acres on a lifestyle block. It features gorgeous water, mountain and rural views. The famous Bridal Veil falls are also nearby and worth the short bush walk.

Raglan town, stunning West Coast beaches and thriving cafe's are all just 15 minutes drive away. This peaceful setting is equipped for families with children, groups of friends or a romantic get away.
Special conditions:
We are happy for smokers to stay, but they must smoke outside and use the provided ash tray.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

We loved our stay in Te Mata, the place is beautifully isolated on the top of a hill with rural landscape views in all directions. Lovely chill space
Lovely quiet space with great views of the countryside. Only a few minutes drive to the Raglan town centre and beaches, and even closer to Bridal Veil Waterfall. Clean and modern and a great outdoor BBQ space. Mike and Kate will look after you, highly recommend.

Wonderful stay, excellent hosts
We stayed for three nights and had a great time - the location is amazing with great views and very clean, nicely appointed accommodation - the outdoor dining area was an extra plus! Mike and Kate are great hosts, allowing us our space, but also good, friendly, easy to get along with people. Thoroughly recommend staying here :)

Fantastic quiet getaway. Beautiful surroundings and has everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. Kid friendly and lovely covered in outdoor kitchen/ dining. Highly recommend and will stay here again if we get the chance. Great hosts.

An isolated but stunningly situated property near enough to the town of Raglan with its beaches and amenities. The accommodation is a wing of the owner’s house but sufficiently private.

Lovely accommodation in every way
Our stay at Te Mata Rural Escape was perfect - the living space was spacious and well-appointed and maintained. The separate glass enclosed dining area, with grill and other cooking areas, was wonderful for lovely evening meals in the quiet beauty of the countryside. Michael was a gracious, generous, and helpful host, and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. My family and I highly recommend this property and exploring the town of Raglan and amazing nearby beaches.

Peaceful and stunning rural views. Remote. Not so good as a base if weather wet/ windy unless happy to curl up with a book. Not a base for gourmet cooking..fine if you are happy to bbq or microwave food ..funky separate cabin for dining and the bbq.

Really wasy orocess of booking and checking on fron the outset. Host was good at keeping in touch and very helpful. The accommodation is slightly remote, but adds to the appeal. Kids loved it and we all got a really good chance to turn off and relax. Would recommend

Mike and Kate are great hosts. They're very kind and offered us carrots and courgettes from their garden which we appreciated. They've made a fantastic job of decorating the sun room which was a nice place to have a BBQ and to dine. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. My daughter loved the chickens and was even allowed to pick one up. Not too far from the bridal veil falls and windmills (5 minutes away) and Raglan was a 15-20 minute drive away. Fantastic views and beautiful sunsets. It's a country paradise.

Views for miles
Peaceful and picturesque. You are literally on top of a hill and look down over fields. The accomodation was spacious and felt like new. The separate kitchen was definitely a highlight. It had heaps of character and was an amazing experience to just sit and have dinner looking over the pastures. The host, Mike called me earlier to tell me about road conditions and was there to greet and give a tour of the place. He was a really nice guy to have a chat with. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful stay in such a picturesque spot. Thoroughly enjoyed the rural setting with spectacular sunsets. Kate and Mike were very welcoming and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay (the sunroom was an added bonus!) Would definitely go back.

What a beautiful hidden gem- lovely clean unit with a cute sun room for cooking.. but the highlight is truely that beautiful view.. was so sad To leave..the kids loved visiting the chickens and we even got to meet the friendly cat. The place is more suited for shorter stays, but we still very enjoyed our week there, exploring more than just Raglan. The host is very friendly and happy to help with any issues or to share a tip about the local area.
