Moureeses Bay and the nearby settlement of Whananaki are situated on the beautiful east coast of Northland, looking out to the Poor Knights Islands.
The beach is inviting, family and adult friendly with safe swimming at one end and a good surf break at the other. There is good snorkelling and rock fishing spots around the headlands, and a cluster of nearby islands to explore from a kayak.
If you like walking, there are many places to explore in the nearby area. Small boats can be launched from the beach or in the estuary in Whananaki. The estuary is also a great place to explore, walk out to the ocean, kayak among the mangroves or sail a dinghy when the tide is in.
Relaxation is the key pursuit and the bach has a large deck from the living area and a flat lawn out the back. The bach is comfortable and quite basic in a NZ bach way, and the bedrooms are on the small size making it more suitable for groups of four.
There are board games and books a plenty and if you need cell phone coverage there is now good coverage for both Vodafone and Spark. Due to the desire to work remotely and spend more time there, we have recently installed wifi and a phone, but the wifi name ("SSID") is hidden - don't disclose it to the kids!
This really is a special part of New Zealand and we love sharing it with others that will take care of it as a valued guest.

Water supply is rainwater collected from the roof, with some clever devices that only take the water only after the rain has washed the roof for a while, and then only the water from the about 200mm below the surface. As a result, it delivers clean water that tastes like fresh untreated water should. Please conserve water in the summer months.
The house will be spotlessly clean on your arrival and ask that guests to leave it clean and tidy, particularly in the peak summer months when our local cleaner has to turn the house around very quickly.
Extras: Cleaning ( NZ$80.00 per stay); Bed linen and towels (Optional, NZ$20.00 per person);
