Endeavour Inlet Paradise- Expansive sea views in sunny, private setting
Escape to paradise for a relaxing family holiday at The Pines in Endeavour Inlet. Enjoy tranquil and expansive views of Endeavour Inlet in a private setting with all day sun surrounded by native bush and birds.
The house is a mid-eighties style Kiwi bach. Its spacious, sunny, open plan with a high stud, internal mezzanine floor and large, gated deck ideal for barbecues and young children. Wifi is provided free of charge. There is a heat pump (7kw) to keep you warm and toasty on cooler days. Access is by boat only with a regular water taxi service from Picton. A 3tonne mooring is also available for boats up to 10 metres (30 feet) in length. The house is close to the Queen Charlotte Track. It is a short walk up to the house from the jetty (about 100-150 metres) via a well-used public quad bike access road. This is stoney and steepish in sections, but there is a gentler bush track beside it for walkers to use.
There is lots to keep you entertained - the house is near the beach and internationally famous Queen Charlotte track with its variety of day, overnight and shorter walks. It takes only takes about 25 minutes through the renowned Howden's Bush to walk to Furneaux Lodge for coffee or a meal or alternatively take a water taxi across to Punga Cove for pizza! There is great fishing with abundant blue cod and gurnard in the area. Alternatively take a trip to the native bird sanctuary on Motuara Island to view saddlebacks, kakariki and South Island robins in their natural habitat. Equally you may just enjoy relaxing with a good book.
Extras: Linen is included, beds are made up for your arrival. and there isn't a cleaning fee. Given no additional cleaning fee is charged you are asked to leave the house clean and tidy and to do the dishes before you leave. Two kayaks and a dinghy are also available for your use.

We had a lovely stay at the Pines - very thoughtful and helpful host, great communication, well equipped and very comfortable house and a beautiful setting. Thanks very much.
We had trouble finding the house and my daughter missed the path after going out for a walk..we had to send out a search party! She put up some extra signs, but needs more.Loved the house & views..all clean & comfortable
Very nice accommodation, access to house from jetty not good and not explained well in description. Boat mooring needs some serious attention. Overall very pleasant.
A great Easter weekend at The Pines.
Excellent communication from Liz and a loaf of fresh home-made bread waiting for our arrival!
Thanks for hosting us - we hope to be back!
This house is located a short walk up from the Jetty. The track to the house was fine to walk as it was dry weather. It is steep in sections and I wouldn’t want to tackle it in poorer weather.
The house is older but well looked after and is a fair price for the condition as described.
We used the mooring and it was easy to navigate with the dingy supplied.
Loved our stay here, classic kiwi bach! Kayaks were great and an easy walk to the Lodge nearby for a meal. Easy to get to and feel so far away from everything. An incredibly beautiful spot
Great location, nestled in tranquil bush. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature at it’s best! The house had everything we needed to make our stay easy as.
Absolutely amazing place! PARADISE Great for familys, board games there to use and kyaks.
Liz and Bruce were super easy to deal with and responded to messages very quickly!
The area the house is in is very cool for kids! With lots of walks to do and nice being where you can bump into other people or not if you choose.
A little walk up a hill to the house but great bit of fitness and a lovely view!
Highly recommended this place and hosts.
We loved this property. Very close to the jetty - just a short walk (albeit uphill) to the bach. The views are lovely from the deck. Having access to a dingy and a buoy to attach to was great for fishing. Will stay here again.
We loved our Sounds week, this was a great spot which suited across the 3 generations in our group. The communication and care from property owners was A+/above expectations. It is up a steep climb which was very slippery during our stay, but not an issue at all, part of the experience. We would love to come again, thanks Liz and Bruce.
This was our second visit, and I hope it won't be our last. Despite some very patchy weather we had a great time – walking, kayaking, swimming, and just enjoying the glorious views from the deck. The house is spacious and well equipped, and the six of us had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts went out of their way to help us, and their communication was excellent throughout.
Unfortunately our plans changed and not all of us made it out there due to very strong Southerly weather conditions but those that made it had a great stay, excellent communications with Liz the property owner thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with some of us. The only comment with regards to taking your own boat is mooring is quite exposed in a Southerly wind just something to consider.
Amazing spot with everything you need right on your doorstep!
Beautiful setting, with a great deck for BBQing, taking in the view and containing our girl. Complete with weka making their daily rounds!
Easy stroll up the way to the lodge, not too bad even with the rain. Great lunch and coffee.
Easy communication with our host - the detailed instructions and setup were perfect.
Lots of space, everything we needed. A great location for walking, water activities and easy to reach Furneaux lodge. Bird life and pungas galore. Could even watch dolphins feeding - from the house. We came during a cold spell so was a little difficult to heat the place. Otherwise lovely.
The bach is really cosy, perfect for our small family of 3. The owners' welcoming and communication had been great from the moment I've booked the bach. We have really enjoyed staying at this wonderful family bach, in the midst of isolated beauty of Endeavour Inlet. The walk to Resolution Bay from Endeavour Inlet's really scenic, a must do! Kudos the Endeavour Inlet's community trust people who worked hard to bring back more birds 🐦👍👏 we were literally followed by curious chirping piwakawakas as we walked along the track. Lovely! 😀
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Pines making the most of the kayaks, walks to Furneaux lodge and a good selection of dvd classics in the evenings. Communication with the owners was excellent.
The property felt homely with plenty of space. Very well equiped kitchen and great having two bathrooms and separate loo. A fun space upstairs for kids.
We had such a great time here. House was very comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our meals. The use of the kayaks was such a bonus and appreciated by all for expeditions out on the water. Everyone who stays here MUST do the walk towards Furneaux Lodge at night to see the glow worms. Amazing!!
