The property was specious and clean and had all the amenities needed for a family vacation. We loved the location as it is walking distance to the beach. Perfect place to stay!
Great cozy cabin with everything you need and relaxing upstairs. Host helpful! Only thing is it didn’t have soap shampoo etc however so be prepared with these items
Clean, comfortable and conveniently located. The place was stocked, warm upon arrival, and the decor was also thoughtful and interesting. Prompt communication from the owner. Thank you!
The bedrooms were very cozy. Everything was very clean and the upstairs had a great view (with snow) and super comfortable couches for laying around. The neighborhood is very nice for long walks.
I am so happy that my family and I stayed at this cabin! It was really clean, had everything we needed and was nice and cozy! We arrived to a warm cabin and it made us feel very welcomed. It is dog friendly and was nice that it was a short walk to a dog friendly beach. We had a wonderful time during our stay! Very peaceful! Highly recommend this place and we hope to visit this cabin again the next time we are in Tahoe!
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable family cabin in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by trees. We were close to town but it still felt peaceful. Having the two high decks was great for stepping outside for some fresh cool air and we enjoyed the gas fire place inside.
We enjoyed our stay very much! Warm blankets, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen with spices all helped to make us feel at home. We were able to walk to the dog beach. There was also a lovely restaurant nearby. Thank you, Julie!
We enjoyed our stay in Tahoe. The home was very spacious. The deck was great. It was within walking distance of the lake and restaurants. It was a little warm inside, but temperatures outside were near 100!
We felt very at home in this spacious cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc (also including a nice variety of spices, seasonings...which a lot of rentals do not). Beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Host was very responsive to any questions we had.
My sons, niece, and I rented this place for a week and made some amazing memories. The home is spacious, clean, and has all the comforts of home. The home is a five minute walk to Pope Beach which is less crowded and dog friendly. I would definitely reserve this home again, thanks for sharing with us!
The house is maintained very well, and it has all the cooking set and plates in the kitchen you dont have to bring anyting. Safeway is minutes away at Hwy 267 and 28 intersection. Northstar is only a 15 minutes drive. The checkout is also very straigtforward, no additional/hidden fees after the initial payout. Overall a very good stay. Highly recommended.
This was our first use of a VRBO residence. I was happy we decided to try it, and more pleased that the location we selected was welcoming. For those who may be considering this location, let me make it easier to think of the main comforts:
Parking- very easy, and secure.
Access- a few steps to the first deck/porch and front door, made entry so convenient.
Entry- space to drop your stuff, a kick your shoes off area, that then welcomes to three very comfortable rooms.
Living space- abundantly fitted to enjoy room to have a family. ***check temps, the upstairs was cold!!!! and with a ban on burning, there was no way to heat the area. PLEASE note, the owner did advise a heater was in the future plans for unexacting cooler times. Couches were comfortable, and oddly, the exact same furniture I have in my own home. Interesting books, and area specific items to look over.
Kitchen- STOCKED!!!! This owner has you covered. I was just amazed at how this was truly the feature point and made me feel this was a home away from home.
Views- This home is so well constructed with decks, seating, and porch views.
Location- so close to all Tahoe has to offer.
If you are a couple, a group, or a family, I can say the home here could be a very suitable place to enjoy your trip to the Tahoe area.
Very nice home in the Agate Bay community. Owner was very responsive and check in was a breeze. We really enjoyed the back deck - very spacious with nice deck furniture, umbrellas and BBQ all in great condition. Upper level is the open space living area which was roomy, clean and comfortable. Lots of seating options for a group with a front deck as well. Downstairs has 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds and storage for your clothes. . Lots of nice bath and beach towels provided and the kitchen is very nicely stocked! Would definitely rent here again!
The house is very cozy. Rooms are a good size and the upstairs area is spacious. The upstairs deck is a lovely area to gather. We star gazed one particular night and the chairs and sectional were quite comfortable. As a woman, I have to say I appreciate that the upstairs bathroom has a handheld shower head. Kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you would need to prepare meals. I would definitely stay here again.
This place was perfect for a quick Fathers Day getaway with family. The neighborhood was quiet, perfect place for walks and bike rides. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Enjoyed the puzzles and turn table as well. It was a chilly weekend when we went but I could see using the back patio.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable. Location was great. The only problem was the heating. It was really cold upstairs where there was no heat except from what would come from downstairs. The biggest problem was the loud bang that the heater would make every 20 minutes or so. I am not sure how anyone sleeps through that! Luckily we found earplugs and put on white noise on our phones. We would stay at this cabin again but only in the summer when it is warm and heater is not needed. Otherwise it was great!
A great combination of charming old house with modern amenities. The house had everything we needed, from well-equipped kitchen, to extra towels and linens, to television with access to the streaming options older teens want. The fully furnished deck made outdoor eating comfortable and easy. We had fun walking our dog to the lake for a daily swim. We plan to stay here again on our next visit to Lake Tahoe.
We had a great experience at Julie's cabin. The inside was very clean. The deck and patio had to be wiped down, but just pollen. The only things that could have made this better was AC, and fenced yard. But once the windows are opened its very refreshing. We have zero complaints and would recommend to anyone else looking in this area!!
We had a fabulous stay...house was very clean, well supplied, kitchen well stocked and the back deck furniture was a fabulous place to hang out. Even has a cool collection of records to play on the "phonograph"! My 23 yr old daughter asked if the needle goes from center out or outside in...Bwahaha! Julie was very responsive and accommodating, thank you Julie! We will definately be back =)
Decent place in a nice, centrally located neighborhood
Overall this is a decent place to stay in Tahoe. There is nothing fancy about it but it suits its purpose. The beds were decent with a mix of soft mattresses and harder ones so people can take their pick on which they prefer. Ample pillows and sheets were provided on the bed and in the closets. The WiFi worked good and was pretty quick which allowed several of us to stream shows at the same time. There was a TV in the unit but we could not find the remote to it so I am not sure if it was intended to be used or not.
The biggest issue we had was the heat on the first night. The place was freezing cold when we arrived at 3PM and we turned up the heat right away. We were not able to take off our jackets inside the house until around 9PM. The house has radiant heat downstairs through a single, large vent in the middle of the hallway. It takes a long time to make it upstairs and heat the upstairs. There is a wood stove and we tried to get that lit but the wood and kindling outside was a bit damp and tended to just smoulder. You will want to bring your own fire starting equipment, newspapers or even a DuraFlame log to get the fire going unless you are an advanced fire making boy scout. We managed to get it going good but it was still really cold in the place. What we finally discovered is that you actually need to close all of the bedroom doors downstairs and then the upstairs will heat up a bit faster. When you are within an hour of going to bed, go downstairs and open up the now freezing cold bedrooms to heat those up. In the middle of the night if we kept the bedroom doors open it actually got too hot for all of us so we learned to close the doors almost all the way. That way we weren't too hot and the upstairs stayed fairly warm for when we got up in the morning. The heater also made a banging noise once every 30 minutes similar to someone hitting a stick on the side of a metal trashcan.
There were a few board games provided and a nice touch was there appeared to be hotel style shampoo and soap in the bathroom but we brought our own stuff so did not use those. Other than that, everything was as advertised and it was a decent place to stay once we got the heating situation under control.

What makes this property unique
Great vacation rental option for anyone looking to explore the North Shore area of Lake Tahoe. The central location and proximity to various ski resorts and boat launches make it an ideal spot for both winter and summer activities.
The added touches like providing beach towels are also thoughtful and convenient for guests. Overall, it seems like the Second Generation Cabin Carnelian Bay offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Tahoe.
