About this property

Blossoms on the Bay - Nubeena

We look forward to welcoming you to our cosy, beautifully furnished cottage on a large private allotment. Our property is frequented by local wildlife, and we even have our own resident bandicoot family. Enjoy the view of Parsons Bay from the snug master bedroom. Just 10 minutes from the historic Port Arthur site, this property is perfect for your family getaway.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with a dressing table and a small built-in wardrobe. The bedroom is located at the front of the house with views of Parsons Bay from the window. Spacious in size, it is a perfect place to relax in the reading chair for some quiet time in the afternoons. There is also a TV and a heater provided.

The second bedroom has a bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on the top) and is a perfect space for the kids or as a teenage retreat as it is spacious with its own TV and heating. A cot is available on request. Both bedrooms enjoy beautiful sunlight in the warmer weather.

The Kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery and basic cooking items, and the dining table has seating for 6 people. There is a fridge/freezer microwave, stovetop, and oven. (We also have a BBQ provided on the front deck). We suggest that you pick up supplies on your drive down in Sorell however, there are two IGAs located nearby the Cottage - one in Nubeena, and the other in White Beach. There are also shops in Port Arthur.

This cosy area next to the kitchen has a small breakfast area with a small table and two chairs; as well as a comfortable sofa and a big screen TV and a DVD player.

The Bathroom is equipped with a shower and sink. Please note that due to the rural location of the Peninsula, the Cottage has tank water and please try to conserve water where you can. Please note that the toilet is located at the back of the property through the laundry and the floor may be uneven at times.

The Laundry is located at the back of the property and has a washer and a dryer.

The property is unfenced. You are free to enjoy the native garden. We often have lots of wildlife visiting. There are a small shed and an old dairy on the property but we have kept these locked to keep the wildlife out. The property is in a quiet residential location with lovely neighbours and you may enjoy walking along the foreshore of Parsons Bay in the early evenings, where you will find a war memorial, as well as a children's' playground and a skate park as you head towards the bakery and the shops. There is also a chemist nearby, and a pizza shop.

Why they chose this property

Nubeena is a quaint, seaside town in the Tasman Peninsula, surrounded by stunning coastline, interesting geology, historical sites, and world renowned surf breaks. It's a haven for nature lovers, surfers, and hikers alike. Even for those who simply like to lounge on the beach - plenty of sheltered, white sand beaches around here! One of which is White Beach, a stunning bay with crystal clear waters just a 5 minute drive from your stay. Another sheltered beach perfect for relaxing is Newman's Beach, just 10 minutes from your stay. Fortescue Bay beach is a little further - 30 minute drive - but well worth it if you love snorkelling, kayaking, SUPing, interesting geology, and hiking. If you're looking for something a little more high energy, Eagle Hawk Neck beach is a 25 minute drive and often has surf. You can also find the Tessellated Pavements here, a unique rock structure made from thousands of years of wave erosion. Roaring Beach and Shipsterns Bluff are surf beaches for the experienced, with incredible breaks. It's worth going there just to watch the epic waves.
If you're an avid hiker, consider doing one of the Cape tracks - there's Cape Hauy (9.5km return), Cape Pillar (overnight), and Cape Raoul (14km return). They are all challenging, but well worth it for the breath taking views. There are a number of shorter walks with amazing geological oddities to gape at, including Devil's Kitchen, Remarkable Cave, and the Tasman Arch. Waterfall Bay is another user friendly walk with coastal views, and a waterfall at the end (depending on the amount of rain at the time).

What makes this property unique

From the property front door itself, you may enjoy walking along the foreshore of Parsons Bay in the early evenings, where you will find a war memorial, as well as a children's' playground and a skate park as you head towards the small Nubeena town centre.
