The space
Bring the fur-kids (horses and dogs, please see conditions), kayaks and bicycles - your rural adventures await and we'd love to invite you to reconnect, recharge and even disconnect if you like at 'Skyfall' Whispering Downs.

A bit about your hosts, we're a couple of working professionals who have taken on a massive passion project - we are slowly, lovingly regenerating our beloved Whispering Downs (approx 400 acres). Yes, just the two of us and our three fur-kids (Havi, May & Oscar) and we are so proud to say that during your stay you will see the results of our work so far. A farm that strikes a careful balance between 'farming' and 'welcoming nature', we strictly manage our livestock and activities to ensure we have a rich biodiversity onsite and we are so proud of what we've achieved so far. From your accommodation, not only you will likely observe the occasional farm activities but you will also most likely see possums and sugar gliders going past your accommodation as well as wedge-tailed eagles soaring across the lower paddocks, not to mention the baby galahs who always seem to be having a spat out the back around 4pm.

For all the amazing aspects we have to say about our farm, we do need to call out (for the avoidance of doubt) that it is rural and off-grid and if you're new to this experience, then these things may come as a surprise:
- the road into our farm is 2km of graded dirt road
- we have tank water, not a bottomless supply
- our toilet is composting (not smelly) but its a different experience
- we are fully off-grid, so yes you can crank the air-con on a sunny day but at night you must manage your usage
- our paddocks are green and its super sunny (at the time of writing), season dependent it may be wet, dry, dusty, stormy - its Australia, we do not control the weather
- speaking of 'Straya', we have snakes, spiders and bugs, you may see some, you may see none but you have been informed.

Gilla, Gilla, where the heck is Gilla? We are roughly halfway between Yarraman and Blackbutt, two gorgeous little towns along the D'Aguilar Hwy and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

Our farm is tucked away in the hills, just a 7minute drive from Blackbutt/Yarraman and about an 8minute easy ride from the nearest BVRT marker. You may have already seen us on the socials under @whisperingdowns and now, you can can come and see why we love our location so much.

Skyfall is not just for BVRT enthusiasts or fur-kids. Whether you're looking for a quiet space to work from home or just escape the world, we invite you to use Skyfall as a base for your SE Qld adventure:
- riding the BVRT
- walking the Googa Forest trails
- horse riding (byo horses)
- trail bike riding
- hiking
- visiting the local art galleries
- frequenting the coffee shops and pubs
- day tripping to the Bunya Mountains, Coomba Falls and Bjelke Petersen Dam
- 2 x tv's for the guest who just wants to hide away and watch the big games or binge watch their favourite shows without interruption

If you’d like to do further research on visiting our area, information is available via our website or our socials (Whispering Downs). All bookings are via AirBNB, thankyou.

Did you happen to see that we offer a semi-stocked pantry and fridge? That's right, milk and eggs in the fridge and some staples in the cupboard ready to go. If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies we strongly recommend you bring your own food.

Discounts apply for longer stays, feel free to message us with any questions.

Please note the bedding configuration is two lofts (via stairs).
Master - Queen 'Emma' bed with starlight above
Guest - 2 single beds

Note: The sofa bed is also a Queen size 'Emma' bed for those who do not wish to sleep upstairs. (max occupancy is 4 people)
Note2: We are unable to accommodate children at this location.
Note3: Dogs are not allowed inside the tiny home. The outdoor deck is elevated, semi enclosed and heated. If you have a registered service dog please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Note4: Horse accommodation is restricted to day yards only.
Note5: We are not able to accommodate children at this time.
Note6: This is not a farm-stay, it is on farm accommodation. Interaction (if any) with our farmers and livestock is not guaranteed (nor should be assumed to occur) as part of your stay.
Note7: The use of the fire-pit is not guaranteed, the fire-pit may be decommissioned at time before or during your stay if there are any safety concerns generally or advice provided from our local fire warden.

Other things to note
ACCESSIBILITY AND SUITABLITY
Please note that Skyfall is a tiny home and is not suitable for those who have mobility challenges or are not comfortable in small spaces.

PETS
- We do not place a weight limit on dogs, nor a limit on how many dogs you bring.
- You must ensure your dogs are vaccinated and have been treated for fleas & ticks at least two weeks prior to your stay.
- Dogs are not allowed inside Skyfall, there is ample undercover shelter on the deck and we also have plastic bistro blinds that roll down, plus a big heater, so the deck is quite cosy at night.
- In booking accommodation at Skyfall you acknowledge that you are bringing your dogs into a rural area, ticks, snakes and spiders are common and it is your responsibility to supervise your animals at all times.
HORSES
- At a minimum your horse must be recently wormed and generally in good health.
- Our day yards are specifically provided for the intention of overnight stays, or extended stays where the horses are taken out and exercised off property daily, yards are not to be used for any other purpose.
- As a horse owner or person who deals with horses, you have a legal obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent or minimise the effects of a biosecurity risk (known as the general biosecurity obligation). Hendra virus poses a serious biosecurity risk. This means you are legally required to reduce the risk of Hendra virus infection and limit the spread of Hendra virus when dealing with horses and other possible carriers. Refer Biosecurity Qld website for more info.
