About this property

'Rare Retreat', enjoy the stunning views, great hiking, or cycling @Lake Eildon

‘RARE RETREAT’ offers holiday accommodation to suit 4 people; the perfect set up for a family or two couples, set in a relaxing country location with spectacular 180-degree views of the surrounding mountains.
The house features a spacious open plan living room/kitchen, with two bedrooms, one-bathroom, split system, wood heater & tank water supply.

The wrap around decking offers outdoor living, to enjoy the beautiful sunsets, or the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee while admiring the ever-changing views from the across the valley to the Blue Range - Cathedral Ranges. Just breathe in the fresh air & enjoy the moment, and the feeling like being on top of world.

The outdoor entertainment area with an open fireplace is perfect for those cooler nights. The native garden brings in many native birds and wildlife, so enjoy nature at its best with the local kangaroos and wombats moving around the surrounding landscape.

A great holiday destination to explore the great outdoors either cycling along the Skyline Road right from the front gate or enjoy bush walking, canoeing, fishing or swimming at the local Lake Eildon National Park.

Re pets - a small dog is permitted upon request. Large pets not approved as horses reside in the neighboring private paddock which may pose a risk.
A lovely male resident who lives on the property cares for the property and can offer local advice or help with the house if required when you arrive.

This stunning property is truly a Rare Retreat with one of the best views Skyline Road has to offer, the mountain home is positioned opposite / adjacent to Lake Eildon National Park, with only 10min down the hill to launch your boat into the lake, enjoy the local fishing, skiing or just take a summer dip.

Alexandra or Eildon are an easy 15min drive away. Mansfield an easy scenic 40-45min drive, or travel to Melbourne airport in 2hrs.

The perfect location for a getaway from the city life.

Lovely retreat to come back to reach day
We were really happy with our stay here, it was the perfect place to come back to at the end of each day, and communication with the owner was fantastic. We will happily stay here again in future!

Good rural getaway
A good location for a break from the rat race and relax. Wonderfull views with visits from the local wildlife. The house is fine for a small family but needs a little bit of work here and there to make it ideal. A nice place to come back to after a day out.
