About the host
Hosted by Jason Hattie

My grandfather was well-known for his ability to quickly make friends and brighten people’s spirits wherever he went. In many ways, that quality has stayed with me throughout my journey. I grew up playing music and traveling across Canada, exploring diverse communities, big and small, from coast to coast. Along the way, I’ve always loved meeting people, hearing their stories, and sharing a laugh—hoping that simple, and sometimes even unspectacular, gestures can help shape our world for the better.
When I was 29, I came across a spectacular home that needed an equally spectacular amount of work and attention. I fell in love with it and found a way to take the leap into restoring this remarkable house to its original glory, with the intention of sharing it—and its story—with everyone who was interested.
Since then, I’ve shifted my focus from travelling and playing music to hosting and home repairs. What has remained constant, however, is my calling to make people happy and watch their dreams and cherished memories come to life.
In the summer, you might find yourself attending one of the many weddings hosted here on weekends. In the winter, you could enjoy a peaceful, grounding weekend staying overnight with family. Whatever brings you here, it’s a pleasure to meet you, a thrill to have you visit, and an honour to share this unique piece of Saskatchewan’s history with you and your loved ones!

Why they chose this property
The best part of staying on the property is that you’re simultaneously outside the city’s confines, surrounded by the peace and tranquility of nature, while being just minutes away from downtown, 8th Street, or anywhere off Circle Drive. You can even call a cab!
When you need a break from the hustle and bustle, you have your own private forest to retreat to. But when the call to action arises, blink, and you’re back in the city. Forgot to grab something from the store? Every amenity is within 10 minutes. Want to disappear for the weekend? Forget the city even exists and enjoy the starry night, free from light pollution.
