About this property

Retreat on the doorstep of the Macedon Ranges

Less than an hour from Melbourne, this retreat is the perfect getaway from the city life. Come as a couple, a family or as a group of friends, the property sleeps 8.

On the doorstep of Macedon Ranges, this home is perched amongst the trees in serene bushland. The superb landscape is a magnet for beautiful birds of all kinds, as well as kangaroos, wallabies, and wombats.

Far from city lights and light pollution, this natural bushland haven is a star gazers delight.

Surrounded by nature, this is a two bedroom and two bathroom home. Downstairs features, open plan kitchen (featuring modern Bosch and Siemens appliances), dining room and living room. Adjoining this is bathroom/laundry and study space.

Upstairs features two cosy bedrooms both with ultra comfortable king beds and built in robes. Enjoy a bath gazing at the stars in the additional bathroom upstairs.

Extra guests? No problem. Just metres from the main house, there are two additional bedrooms in unique shipping containers. These feature king beds, aircons and their own mini fridge. Relax in comfort, with a view of the trees through the double glazed glass doors. Perfect for additional family members or extra friends.

Please note, vegetation has been cleared around the home and there is landscaping work in progress. Therefore the landscape does look a bit rough but is still surrounded by plenty of beautiful trees and nature. Mother Nature is regrowing to help.

Macedon Bush House
A rugged bush property, less than 10 minutes from Macedon township. Driving into the property's initially steep gravel drive, in a 2WD car, required some initial speed and staying in low gear, but proved no problem for our family group, in three vehicles, two of which were 2WD. The main house and two "container bedrooms" were all spotlessly clean and very well, appointed. All were well air conditioned if required; as it was on occasion as the weather was quite warm during our stay. IT wise the WiFi and internet worked exceptionally well - especially as the 4G wasn't so great in that location. The bush surrounds suited our family group which allowed for our two pet dogs to run around outside as well as our grandchildren. As a consequence, the TV was hardly put to use, as we just enjoyed the peace and quiet of the bush. The property provided a good base for the two significant family events that brought us to Victoria for the week; especially its quick and easy access to the Calder Freeway. Given a similar family occasion, we'd most definitely be looking to stay here again if available.Thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay.
