About this property

Camp Pepin's JJ Saul Cabin - Fall asleep to the Rippling Waters of Lake Pepin

This is the ultimate camper cabin overlooking Lake Pepin. The half wall and screen cabin has huge sliding windows to catch the breeze and the sound of the waves rolling on to the beach.

Camp Pepin is a summer camp located on Deer Island, outside of Stockholm, Wisconsin. Enjoy the backwoods trails, disc golf, family games in the field by the lake and bonfires for your group right by your cabin.

This cabin does not have plumbing, so your bathroom is the bath house 100 yds across our well manicured lawn to the Lower Dining hall. The bath house has 5 bathroom stalls and 4 showers, and a bank of 5 sinks with mirrors. This bathhouse is is a community bath house to be shared with other guests camping on site.

This is a camper cabin and you will have a designated fire pit and picnic table. We will have a barrel cooler of water ready to go for you, and wood available for purchase. You can also bring a camp stove or small grill for outside, and you may plug in a hot plate or electric griddle to cook as well.

You will have access to camp's canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Make sure to bring a life jacket, as we have many children's jackets to choose but have a smaller selection of adult sizes.

You may drive across the lawn to unpack your vehicle and then park your car on the large lot off the side of the main road. There is a boat landing just down the street on Deer Island and we have room for you to part your trailer on site. Our dock is designated for day use only and only has room for one boat; it is not recommended to beach overnight or in high winds as the waves can build and pummel the shore.

Fun Family Weekend!
We had a great time. It was so nice to have Lake Pepin just outside our door. All the water toys (canoes, water boards, paddle boat, etc.) and yard games (bags, volleyball, basketball, etc.) were included in with the cabin rental. We plan on booking this cabin again. Thanks Again!

Great extended weekend of “camp”!
YMCA Camp Pepin is a beautiful property with a lot of activities to offer! Erik (the director) was more than accommodating and made the kids stay so exciting with the ropes course, giant swing and zip lining. We will be returning next year!

Wonderful!
This is a beautiful property on Lake Pepin. We stayed in the cabin closest to the lake, JJ. Saul. Some of the cabins have bathrooms and heat, ours did not but we didn't need heat and it was just a short walk to our bathroom. Everything was clean, hosts were friendly, helpful and available. Coffee pot, coffee and filters, water and ice were provided. Amazing wildlife! You are able to use the camp's canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. We didn't want to leave and will definitely return!

Great stay
This cabin had a beautiful view of Lake Pepin and the drive up was very scenic. The bunkhouse was clean and had plenty of space for a group of friends. The property also has a large green space that was great for volleyball and lawn games. Ice and water were provided and it was great on the hot days we were there. Another great perk was there wasn't a lot of mosquitos! so we had some great bonfires. Overall a great stay!

Adult Summer Camp Birthday Bash
I was looking for a cabin rental for my birthday weekend, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to kick it old school at sleep away camp. We were not disappointed. The location was great, and the weather was perfect for the most part. Even though it rained we rallied and let the good times keep rollin. Martha and Amanda were the sweetest camp hosts. Very easy to talk with and truly accommodating. It was especially nice to be able to call/text for wood delivery right to your fire pit. They even made an extra special delivery of blueberry pie when then found out it was my birthday! All of my friends from out of town had an absolute blast, and we will be reminiscing about this trip for many years to come.

Wonderful experience!!
This was our first camping trip as a BIG family (24 of us) and we had created some of the best memories together at this place. Martha, the manager, was extremely nice and helpful. Cabins were clean, roomy and comfortable (for being a youth camp). We’re already talking about coming back next summer, making it an annual thing for our family.

Delightful Summer Camp Experience
We will have great memories for a long time. Martha is superb and so personable and organized. We had so much fun exploring the grounds, using the boats, cooking on a campfire, sleeping in bunks, and stargazing. The whole camp is very clean and it’s an excellent option for social distancing. I want to sincerely thank Martha and the Y for a great stay.

We had the whole camp to ourselves! We cooked over the fire and lay on the dock to watch the stars. First time paddle boarding. Great opportunity to unplug and recharge before school starts.

Weekend on Lake Pepin
This was a great chance to have our own family camp at this YMCA camp closed for the summer. We had a great screened in bunk house by the river and enjoyed access to all kinds of boats and campy things to keep the kids busy. Martha was our contact and was super helpful and friendly. We had a ripping wind storm which was more of an adventure and group bonding activity than a problem, because of how Martha and the others just banded together to take care of everything. It was a lovely stay and I would encourage anyone to take advantage of this rare opportunity while you can.
