About this property
A Peaceful Retreat in Namhae: Stay, Explore & Unwind in Nature
Welcome to our beautifully restored 100-year-old traditional wooden house in a quiet village of Namhae, South Korea. Surrounded by lush terraced rice fields, majestic mountains, and the endless sea, our home offers the perfect escape for those looking to slow down, recharge, and fully immerse themselves in nature.
The village itself is a unique blend of farming and fishing traditions, where locals cultivate rice in the terraced fields while also making a living from the nearby sea. As you explore the area, you’ll see fishermen heading out to sea and farmers tending to their crops, offering a glimpse into the authentic rural lifestyle of Korea.
This house has been thoughtfully renovated by your host, a trained architect, who carefully preserved its original charm while adding modern comforts. Every detail reflects a deep appreciation for traditional Korean architecture, creating a warm and inviting space where past and present harmoniously coexist.
The property consists of two separate houses within the same courtyard. One house is exclusively for guests, ensuring privacy and comfort, while the other is where your host resides. Since I live nearby, I am always available to assist you in case of any questions or unexpected issues. Whether you need help with the facilities, recommendations for local attractions, or any other support, you can feel at ease knowing that help is just a few steps away.
The spacious courtyard offers plenty of outdoor activities to enhance your stay. You can enjoy a barbecue with friends and family, relax by the fire pit under the stars, or unwind in the small private jacuzzi while taking in the fresh countryside air. The open outdoor space creates a perfect setting for both relaxation and social gatherings. Additionally, free parking is available on-site, making it convenient for those traveling by car.
Inside the guestroom, you'll find a comfortable queen-sized bed, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. For entertainment, a beam projector with smartphone mirroring is available, allowing you to watch movies, YouTube, or your favorite shows right from the bed. The cozy atmosphere, combined with modern technology, makes this the perfect place to unwind.
The kitchen is fully equipped for light cooking, so you can prepare simple meals using fresh local ingredients. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading out to explore or cook a comforting meal after a long day of travel.
This is more than just a place to stay—it’s a space where you can truly relax for days, explore at your own pace, and experience the beauty of Namhae. Start your mornings with a cup of coffee on the "toe-maroo" (traditional wooden porch) while soaking in the breathtaking views. Take a leisurely stroll along the scenic walking trails around the village, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere filled with the sounds of birds, rustling leaves, and the gentle sea breeze.
For your convenience, I personally provide a pick-up service for an additional fee. If you’d like to explore Namhae more comfortably, I also offer customized guided tours, sharing local insights and hidden gems that only a local would know. Plus, as an English-speaking host, I’ll ensure that communication is smooth and your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Whether you're looking for a long, restful getaway or a base for exploring Namhae’s stunning landscapes and cultural spots, this home provides the ideal balance of comfort, tradition, and tranquility.
Experience the charm of traditional Korean architecture with modern comforts, and make this your home away from home. I look forward to welcoming you for a truly slow and relaxing stay.
