About this property
Pumpkin House ~ a museum guesthouse experience
Welcome to the Pumpkin House, a unique Newfoundland heritage home with a super cozy vintage vibe! Ideal for couples and groups of upto 5. The home has 3 bedrooms and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. Built in 1872, we've lovingly restored and outfitted the home with a curated collection of antiques. Inside and out, its period design and colours transport you and your senses back in time. Here a stay here is more than just a stay, it's an experience in modern day time travel paired up with warm and authentic hospitality.
HGTV called the Pumpkin House “One of the Coolest Canadian Airbnbs”, come and experience why for yourselves. With a classic layout, all bedrooms are located upstairs and the living spaces are on the main floor. The living room has comfy seating ideal for 4 guests. Put your feet up, check out some of the vintage books, parlour games or simply stream some of your faves on the smart tv.
The Victorian dining room is perfect for a games night marathon (we supply the board games) or enjoying a supper whipped up in the farmhouse style kitchen. We stock our kitchen with the basics and essentials for cooking and baking and of course fresh ground coffee for the French press, making for a great cup of coffee.
Outside, the wrap-around patio allows you to chase the sunshine all day long. With wooden benches and ample seating it's perfect for bird watching or just kicking back and letting the worries of the world melt away. Be sure to catch some of the most beautiful sunsets that take to the skies and have given Twillingate a reputation for incredible sunsets.
For our guests taller than 6 feet, just a heads up the lowest ceiling heights are 6'7". As the Pumpkin House was built long before the days of our modern day building codes, it still retains its original 19th century architecture. Therefore it may not be suitable for all and all accessibility needs.
To fully experience the magic of Twillingate combined with the experience of the Pumpkin House itself, we (and our guest reviews) highly recommend planning a minimum stay of three nights.

Why they chose this property
Farmer's Arm Road is one of the gems of this town, where you can walk the street along the coastline and feel like you've been transported to another time. Colourful houses, beaches, gardens and fences make this a photographer's dream come true. The neighbours you'll meet are lovely, one of them is a shipyard where you can watch the boats come and go.
Famous for its reputation of being the 'Iceberg Capital of the World'. As early as April to June, these massive ice sculptures literally drift in and around Iceberg Alley.
Twillingate has an impressive coastal hiking trail, very well maintained and known as the Rockcut Trails - something that you'll want to pack your hiking boots for. They feature over 25kms of trails which literally take you all around Twillingate's southern and northern islands. Here we love hiking and there's a trail for absolutely everyone's level.
