Cosy garden cottage in the country and close to town

Pheasant Hill Garden Cottage is in a very special spot. You are free to roam and explore the 6 acres of gardens or just relax to the sound of the stream while relaxing on the covered deck.
This is super cosy and well set up for a special break away. A great choice for a romantic getaway, solo travelers, garden enthusiasts or business travelers. This is a place to relax, unwind and recharge!

The space
A cosy open plan cottage with country style and comfort. Take in the sound of the resident Tui's, Quail's and Pheasants. Enjoy some luxury time in your very own outdoor bath and explore the gardens.

At the top of Pheasant Hill you will find our little church which is the perfect place for a picnic and a glass of wine. This is also a great spot on a clear night for some star gazing.

Location. We are not far from everything you may need.

Urenui township is 7 minutes drive north where you will find a small 4 square and a really nice Cafe.

Waitara township is also close where you will have a New World, Post Office, ATM's and more.

New Plymouth city is around 25 minutes away. We even have a Beauty Salon across the road !

Our story

Our property was affected by Cyclone damage in 2022 and another in 2023. Many Trees where blown over and some landscape features where damaged. Clean up and landscape repairs Commenced Early April 2023 and as of mid June the garden is now back to normality with tracks open and available to explore. The Pond has been cleaned with the bird life back and settled. With the clean up we have many logs stacked for milling which will in time be used on the property and by your host Glen who operates a furniture making business on the property called "The Wood Project"

With heavy machinery on site to process the clean up we found ourselves with some new landscape design opportunities. We added a new waterfall feature beside the pond and have built a new jetty over the pond. A new wet land area to one side of the pond has been added and will hopefully encourage more diverse bird life and bird nesting. We also have the addition of two pet ducks and "Redge" our goose

The cottage grounds where unaffected by the Cyclone so your spot in the cottage is as it was prior to the cyclone.
