Stay in Tolaga Bay
We spent two night's at Larissa's house in Tolaga Bay exploring the area. The hosts were so friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and have everything we need. Will definitely recommend this property.

Kia ora! My family and I live on a rural lifestyle block on the East Coast, making the most of life with our three kids, plenty of cats and dogs, and a love for the outdoors. Between running our businesses, training and riding horses, and going on adventures, life is busy—but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why they chose this property

We’re coasties—born and bred in Tolaga Bay, where the ocean meets the land, and life is as real as it gets. This isn’t just a place we live; it’s a way of life. Out here on the East Coast, things move a little slower, the air is fresher, and the people are as genuine as they come.

There’s a deep connection to the land and sea—whether it’s throwing out a line at the Tolaga Bay Wharf, diving for kaimoana, or gathering food straight from the whenua. We’ve been raised to live off the land, respect our surroundings, and take in the beauty that’s everywhere—from rolling green hills to golden beaches that stretch for miles.

It’s a safe, family-friendly place, where kids grow up barefoot, riding bikes until the streetlights come on, and everyone knows your name. Sunrises over the bay are worth waking up for, and the night skies are untouched by city lights, offering a view of the stars you won’t find anywhere else.

This place has heart, history, and the kind of beauty you don’t just see—you feel. If you’re looking for a break from the noise of the world, this is it. Welcome to Tolaga Bay.

What makes this property unique

Built in the 1970s by my grandparents. It’s where I grew up, where I learned to ride a bike in the driveway, and where my kids did the same.

It’s a real family home, with all the warmth and character that comes with years of memories. It's a place that’s lived in, loved, and ready to welcome you in too.

🌊 A True East Coast Stay

āœ” A short drive to Tolaga Bay Wharf & beaches—the best spots for fishing, swimming, and soaking in the scenery.
āœ” Fully fenced and safe for kids & pets—because home should feel secure.
āœ” A proper home, not just a rental—you’ll feel it the moment you step inside.

šŸ”„ Simple, Comfortable, Coastie Living
āœ” Good water pressure (a must!)
āœ” A big backyard for kids to run around
āœ” A fully equipped kitchen for easy meals
āœ” Plenty of space to unwind

If you’re looking for a place with history, heart, and real home comforts, this is it. Whether you’re here for a night or a while, you’ll feel it too—this is home.
