This home and property were absolutely gorgeous! The house was the cleanest house that we have ever rented! Klaus was kind and easy to communicate with. He provided us with all the amenities that we needed for a comfortable and wonderful stay! We highly recommend this home. You will love it!
We had the best stay! The house was wonderful, views were perfect, and Klaus made the process so easy. I would highly recommend staying at this property.
This place felt as though we had a private resort just for our family of 4. It was gorgeous inside with a beautiful view of the Ontario lake. Honestly, the photos of this property don’t do it justice. Even the beds give you a massage and can change positions. This is a high tech house. The pool area was wonderful. Heated pool and hot tub. The Sun sets were impressive and could be appreciated from every where in the house. Klaus was very welcoming, and easy to get a hold of. We were in contact with him prior and during our stay as needed. I’d highly recommend this property.
Beautiful house, and great location. Good home base to visit Niagara falls, the finger lakes, and state parks. Fall colors were just changing so it was beautiful. Apple harvest time, and visiting cider mills and farm markets always fun. Best caramel apple pie!
House has comfortable beds, wonderful views, and relaxing massage chair after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend.
We rented this house for our family to stay in for my Mom's funeral (5 of us).
Pros: A beautiful house and property. It was clean, spacious and well equipped. We spent a lot of time outside admiring the lakeview and poolside. The host, Klaus was good with communications and met us upon arrival for an orientation so we knew how to use the pool, TV, appliances, etc.. (lots of high tech!).
Cons: We had hoped to use the house as a gathering place for friends and family after the funeral, but the host called right after I booked it and said there were no "events" allowed at the house (we rented anyways and adjusted our plans). While I can understand why he wouldn't want the house used for large family reunions and frat parties, it seemed kind of odd that we had to ask for an exception even to to have just 2 guests join us for dinner for a night. We've never had that kind of restriction for a vacation type lake house VRBO. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.
While the outside seating and beds were comfortable, we all found the couches and chairs to be very uncomfortable (hard on the backs). I guess we are just more used to old fashioned comfy seating for conversation and TV viewing. Just a difference in style preference, and in fairness the pictures and description were very accurate.
All in all, I'd still rate the house and the host 5 stars!
While the house had beautiful sunsets and plenty of space, the host's aggressive managment of the property made us uncomfortable and upset. We paid a lot of money for a four bedroom house only to find one of the bedrooms locked. When we asked him to open it, we were told it would be even more money a night for two guests. When we explained we did not have guests, he asked why we needed the room if we were a couple with two kids. I had to explain that my husband sometimes snores to get him to come unlock the room. He then watched who was in the driveway and accused us of having guests when we most certainly did not. We followed all four pages of rules and left the house in perfect condition even watering the nine pots of flowers daily as requested by Klaus. We would never stay here again due to the harrassment of the host.
My family really enjoyed this beautiful homebase as we explored the finger lake region. It says something when the answer to the evening question of "what should we do tomorrow" was often, let's just hang here. Thanks, Klaus, for sharing your home with us.
This place made it easy to relax. The property is so peaceful and it lives up to the pictures. Occasionally see a boat go by in the distance on Lake Ontario. Landscaping around home provides privacy to pool/hot tub area but does not disturb view of lake. The home is immaculate. My husband & I stayed in the bedroom suite with large, 2 person shower, jacuzzi tub & walk in closet. A central kitchen & living room separated our suite from two bedrooms & a hallway bathroom on the other side of the house. The beds & couches were comfortable. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and even clean up. Simple things like a stocked Nespresso machine, portable speaker for the pool, four washer/dryers & a great grocery/liquor store made living easy. Pretty, gently rolling neighborhood streets for running. Pleasant drives to Rochester for the Strong Museum of Play and to the Finger Lakes for kayaking & wine tastings. I would definitely come back.
We just stayed here over the Memorial weekend and it was wonderful. Everything from the amazing views, to the beauty and cleanliness of the home, to all of the creature comforts the owner Klaus provides, it really was nothing short of perfection. Klaus even provides information on all the different restaurants, Cafes and Bakeries, specialty stores like Wine and Spritz etc., and even places to go if you want a spa day or just a pedicure. You don’t have to guess or Google where to find things and what to do - it’s all provided and yes, there is so much to do in the area. If you want to just stay in and relax with a bottle of wine or your drink of choice, the Pool and Jacuzzi keep you and your family well entertained - you won’t want to leave!!! We can’t wait to go back. Thank you again Klaus!!
My family and I rented this house for a couple of weeks to give ourselves a little change in scenery. We could not have been happier! The house was immaculate, plenty of space for our 3 kids. The views (and especially the sunsets) were magnificent. And the best part was the pool, which is where we spent most of our time. Klaus was great - very responsive and friendly. Would highly recommend this house!
We had a really nice stay at this property. It's conveniently located, yet you feel a world away with lots of privacy and incredible views of Lake Ontario. It truly felt like we were at the ocean. The sunsets are out of this world. My children spent the majority of their time in the pool, which proved to be a wonderful haven for all of us. The home is spacious, clean and Klaus was always available and communicative.
