Nice property. Older home quiet neighborhood. Wish there would have a welcome basket with some coffee.

Hosts friendly and quick to respond.
Home not as updated as expected.
Did not like neighborhood which is our fault for not researching the area more thoroughly.
Nice house, well-maintained and clean. Location, off an alley, is very convenient. The house was listed as having two twin beds, and there was only one, but the owner is in the process of renovation and maybe did not note this. Not a big deal, we didn’t need it. The house was all we needed and is located less than two miles from Dayton’s campus, so it worked out well. Thank you for everything!

Misleading
The pictures do not match the description. Most of the furniture in the pictures is not there. The “cozy third floor bedroom with 2 beds” does not exist resulting in 2 people not having a bed. The 2nd floor was unable to be cooled. The plumbing does not function properly. The shower took 20-30 minutes to drain down enough for the next person to use. Only one bathroom and not conveniently located. Beds very uncomfortable. Furniture very old and uncomfortable. House very old and in need of repairs. Very poor neighborhood. The pictures and description are very misleading.

mixed review
The place was clean and the number of bedrooms was waht we needed and in the right neighborhood for connecting with family.
The original code for entry was incorrect and it took awhile for the host to get back to us with the correct code.
there were several different codes for the internet that didn't work.
We used thevacuum to clean up spills of cereal and the stench was terrible because there was a dead mouse in the vacuum. We had to put the vacuum out on the porch.

Nightmare of an experience
Let me start by saying I would not have left a bad review if the owner had made things right with me. I drove 30 hours with little rest inbetween as a single parent with all 6 of my kids. We arrived around 11pm after check in. The code to enter did not work. The code the cleaner used was given to me. It was clear through our conversation the code isn't unique for each guest which made me feel unsafe. When I got in the house the bed linens were on the floor. Towels and rements of thevprevious party were everywhere. Bugs in the basement where a make shift bedroom is. The bed downstairs sits on the floor. I found roaches in the master. Washing machine wasn't hooked up so I could wash the linens myself to be able to sleep. There weren't extra linens to use so I had to get a hotel room that night. Most hotels were sold out. I legally have to purchase 2 rooms due to the size of my family. My oldest child is 12 so this makes it difficult for a single parent to supervise all rooms but we were so desperate for sleep I had to settle for 2 rooms at 200/per night. I requested a partial refund since this additional $400 came out of my budget for our entire trip. The owner has never responded to my attempts to settle this between us. She did offer a home with two twin beds at another unit. I had to cancel the attraction that brought us to Ohio in the first place due to the extra cost. I would not recommend staying in Shelly
I had a good experience. Had old house charm. Tile work in the bathroom was splendid. Windows could have used screens but I wasn’t worried about bugs flying in. I’d worry about the ac getting upstairs in the summertime. I felt safe and without worry but my mother in law was a smidge freaked with the neighborhood
Communication was great and responsive and helpful!

Not a bad place
The house was fine for a place to stay for a quick trip to Dayton. A few things of note - When we walked in, it was noticeably cold. It turned out the thermostat was on cool instead of heat. When we turned it on, it was clear the furnace hadn't yet been turned on this year - so we had about a day of smelling the dust burning smell. One of the bedroom doors did not shut, the other had a 3" hole in it where a deadbolt used to be. Myself and gf, who slept in the king bed, both woke up with sore necks.
A solid three stars as this property has all the basics. Quick access to highway. King bed is quite comfortable. The lone bathroom sports a shower and a flush and hold toilet. Kitchen works for basic cooking. Prepare to hand wash dishes and warm up leftovers in the oven. Dining areas are comfortable. Living area has two comfortable chairs. Good value for the price.
Adorable historic home! Perfect for a weekend with friends in Dayton. Very close to restaurants, located in a charming neighborhood, and street parking was easy to find.
