Casa Olaje was perfect for our family. The location is close to the beach and to the shops and restaurants, and yet quiet and peaceful. The shaded pool is lovely.

Surf Trip

Great great place to stay for Nosara surf trip. Almost as close to Guiones beach as you can get in a gated and guarded community. The house, grounds and pool were beautiful. AC in bedrooms was clutch. Wonderful fans and windows in common rooms. Host was super helpful. Cleaning service came halfway through our week. I've never had a VRBO with that. Rent the 4WD if you are driving here or anywhere in this region. Take my word for it. Easy walk to Bodhi Tree Yoga, Beach Dog Cafe and other restaurants from the house. I almost don't want to write such a great review for fear it will be reserved when we want to come again.

Beach bliss

The property was just right in every way. Walking distance to the beach with private/community access gate. Walking distance to town, but far enough away for privacy and quiet. Plenty of space, but cozy at the same time. The set up is pretty basic, but everything you need and nothing you don't. We used the kitchen to cook a few meals and had everything necessary. The pool is great. you won't be doing laps, but it's perfect for cooling off in the hot afternoon and was partially shaded so you can still hang out and avoid the sun if you want. There is a balcony above the pool area that is great for morning coffee and yoga/stretching before surf sessions. The beds are comfortable. We slept in the main bedroom at night and napped in the lower level bedroom in the afternoon as it was cooler. A/C in all the bedrooms too if you need it. Bathrooms are small, but you're on vacation in CR, so "primping" should be minimal. Showers were hot and good pressure. No flushing of toilet paper, but that's standard in CR everywhere I've been, so don't be surprised if your first visit. We did rent an ATV even though you can walk to town. The north (newer/busier) part of town is a bit of a haul, and the roads are narrow and rough. Even if you have a rental car the ATV is preferable as parking is scare in most areas. There are several rental companies, but plan to make a reservation prior to your visit if busy season. Overall, the property matches up well with the area as a whole. Enough amenities to make you comfortable, but still retains that middle of nowhere in the jungle vibe.

Costa Rica es Pura Vida

We had a great week in Playa Guiones at Casa Olaje!! Jami the property owner was very accommodating and the house was very spacious. Walk to Playa Guiones surf as well as the pool were my favorite aspects of the property. Nosara is a beautiful place. Until next time….Pura Vida!!

Amazing hosts beautiful house wonderful gardens

All I can say is, if you’re considering renting this property and are lucky enough to find it available, don’t hesitate. It’s a beautiful house set in gorgeous gardens with a wonderful pool and unique areas to rest. I was missing it all the moment I locked the door for the last time. However the best part by far, and this property stands head and shoulders above any Vrbo rental I’ve ever used, were the hosts. These people are incredible. They were kind, immediately available to help, and very interesting to talk to! A highly recommended location!

Great house close to the beach in safe neighborhood

Owner was great and took good care of us. House was very spacious and well stocked with cold ac in all three bedrooms and nice breeze in the kitchen/living area made hanging out during the day very comfortable and was even a little chilly for our guest that slept in the shared area. Screened porch was perfect for evening drinks and salt water pool was great for cooling down and relaxing after a beach walk or long surf session. Gated neighborhood was safe and had an easy walk to private beach access for surfing and sunsets. Large safe allowed us to safely store all valuables including full size computer bags. Full kitchen made meals easy and plenty of room to park multiple vehicles and golf carts. Can’t wait to go back and do it all over again next year!

Casa Olaje

We had a very nice stay at Casa Olaje. The house is super clean and well maintained and the pool and deck are fantastic for just hanging out and cooling off. Casa Olaje is located in the Guinoes Beach Club development which is also very nice and even though we felt very safe throughout the whole town of Nosara, it was nice to have the guards on duty at the front entrance 24/7. We had a small issue with the air conditioning units on our first night but Rick and Luz (Property Managment) were great to work with as they responded quickly to correct the problem. I think that speaks to the high quality of their service and we truly appreciated that as well as the entire experience at Casa Olaje and in the town of Nosara. The house is located south of the shops/restaurants area so we rented a golf cart and I would recommend that to anyone as it's fairly long walk.

Great getaway

I stayed at Casa Olaje with my girlfriend, my brother, his wife and their two teenage boys in early April. It was perfect. We rented a golf cart and an ATV and that got us all around. The routine was to get up super early, surf for a couple hours and go into town for Acai bowls. The middle of the day was super hot and we chilled in the "Shangi-La" on the backyard. Honestly, we didn't think that we would spend much time there, but it was a great place to chill, read, and soak. Around 3:30 we would he'd back down and surf as the sun set, beautiful! We would hit the outdoor shower, then head into town for a great dinner. The house had everything that we needed and that backyard was awesome.

Good times

Had a great week in Playa Guiones staying here. The house is clean, functional and a 5-minute walk to the beach. We had a large group and booked this house next door (Rancho Paloma Azul) and it worked great. This house has three bedrooms / 2 bedrooms included in the rental. They are simple, but work great. Also, there is a functional kitchen and living area. The rental was very low key. We received a walkthrough of the house upon arrival (and they graciously accommodated our late arrival)... after that, they were available upon request. They offered a mid week clean, cook and other services, but we didn't need any of them. The location is about 5 minutes from the beach and 10-15 from town (depending on where you go).... we had a car, which we used when we needed to travel to the other side of town. Overall, I think the value was excellent. We were vey happy with our stay and I would recommend it to others.

Amazing Place for an Amazing Country

Casa Olaje is an amazing find. Our small crew of guys (4-5 depending on the year) has been using this location as our Costa Rican home away from home for years. Reasons include the owners are fantastic, the property management team is responsive, the place is immaculate and has an amazing amount of charm you just don't get with the massive structures now populating Nosara. The location is ideal to hit the beach, and just far enough from the main drag to get to easy enough via foot, car or bike while still offering some solitude. To keep you cool there is a pool that we have found to be a must have, and 2 outdoor showers to clean up from the beach. Safety wise its great, there is a 24 hour guard shack and plenty of safety features (heave door safe, bars on the windows elegantly placed) so you know your safe in or away. Costa Rica is a magical place, and Casa Olaje just makes it all complete. Totally recommend it and its worth a look!

Very comfortable house for a family of four

We loved our stay at Casa Olaje. We have two boys with a lot of energy. Because the house is only minutes walk from the Beach, the boys were able to swim, surf and explore Playa Guiones. Then, during the hottest times of the day, we could all hang in the shade by the pool at the house, in a hammock, or even just kick back inside the cool house reading a book. We were always careful, but also always felt very safe.

Clean and spacious house steps from the south end of playa guiones beach.

Great Vacation

Great. Location is fantastic, easy walk to one of the best beaches in Costa Rica. House is nice design and good construction, clean and comfortable, in private gated community. Property management team excellent, helpful and responsive. Points deducted because no master bedroom w attached bathroom, and no washer/dryer (as stated in ad) Also, glassware was sad. Just one wine glass to share would have been nice. Property manager has probably already corrected this oversight, thanks again, Yeudy! Overall, great house in an amazing place.

Beautiful oasis

This was my second visit to Playa Guiones, my first time staying at Casa Olaje: I will be back! This house was the perfect space for the 2 couples that traveled together, the large kitchen and living/ dining areas provided plenty of space and tools for cooking and spending time together and the bedrooms are perfect little pockets of personal respite. We enjoyed the beautiful landscaped yard and all the wildlife attracted to the plants. The sheltered pool and multiple hammocks were welcome spaces between surf sets. The house is close enough to walk to town and the beach is minutes away by private path. The owners arrived during our stay and were close at hand in an upstairs apartment when we needed anything (but not omnipresent); the management company also answered email and text promptly when ewe needed them. We look forward to coming back to this beautiful home in this amazing little town :)

Awesome Spot

Loved it so much we extended our stay - twice!

Spent nearly three lovely weeks at Casa Olaje. We love Nosara, but had never rented a house before. We wouldn't do it any other way now! A short walk to Playa Guiones, it's a beautiful house, and probably the cleanest rental I have ever stayed at! Large, fully-stocked kitchen, great for cooking in. Lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. The screened-in porch and pool are lovely, and the lush grounds attract tons of colourful birds and butterflies. The security guards at the entrance to the community were very professional and friendly, and patrolled the area regularly on foot. We felt extremely safe. Jaimy, the owner, and AnnMarie and Amber (property managers) were very responsive and helpful, and helped us with anything we needed. Wifi is in and out, but that's Nosara. Would definitely return to the beautiful and serene Casa Olaje - tomorrow, if possible!

Amazing vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Olaje. The house is in a great location, close to everything we needed,beach,town,surfboard rentals. The pool was very clean and a nice treat in the afternoons. Spring Break at Casa Olaje

Family of five with two boys (13 and 11) and daughter (9) had a fantastic time at Casa Olaje. The house is in a great location, close to everything. Easy walk to awesome beach. House was very comfortable with a very nice pool. We rented quads and four-wheelers to get around for longer trips around the area. Jaimy and AnnMarie were very helpful. We will definitely be back.

I built this home on a small hill after carefully observing how to maximize the sun and wind to provide comfort and cooling.
I spent time over many years in Playa Guiones surfing, fishing, relaxing and getting to know many local residents.
I have been spending more time in the apartment as I can work remotely. One day I may move to the “big house” ; so it was really built to 'live in' rather than as a rental property. I take pride in keeping the house updated, clean and well functioning, fully stocked with kitchen supplies and linens.
I am the property manager so the price is kept lower than average due to not having to pay someone monthly plus commissions.
I understand that most of the newer properties are “luxury” with every new amenity. My house is well equipped, comfortable, spacious, airy, clean…it is NOT “LUXURY”. It is designed for people who relish the outdoor spaces and the beach rather than sitting inside most of the time. Also, without appliances that are delicate and can not take the frequent electrical surges and hard water, fewer things break and need emergency repairs. So no water dispenser in the fridge, dish washer, TV.
The house is not “child proofed”. The floors are tile, there are 5 stairs to the downstairs bedroom, and the pool is not fenced off.
Absolutely no animals of any kind, including support animals.

THE WAVES ARE CONSISTENT, 300 METERS FROM PACIFIC OCEAN, GOOD LOCAL VIBE. We built the house in Playa Guiones after coming here to surf and relax for many years. The flora and fauna always provide new experiences. PURA VIDA.

PERFECT WEATHER, WAVES, GREAT WALKING/JOGGING BEACH, FRESH FOOD.
We landscaped with lush tropical and native plants to encourage birds and monkeys to visit
We planted fruit trees and herbs so that you could enjoy as much fresh local food as possible. Help yourself. Bananas, Grapefruits, oregano are the current offerings. The lizards and birds have digested a lot of other offerings. I keep trying though.
