Happy with the accommodations, and none of my friends had complaints either. Lots of space to spread out if desired.Host was responsive and the check-in and check-out requirements were simple. None of the excessive check-out cleaning nonsense that rental properties have become infamous for.
We have family between Escanaba and Gladstone and this location, size of the home and the comfortable amenities were perfect for our family Christmas. We took walks at the Days River path trail, along the water in Gladstone, looked up at the starry night in Rapid River and enjoyed the cozy comfort of the lodge.
The cabin met our expectations and more! So much history about the builders of tue cabin inside is truly is a gem! Extremely cozy and comfortable for our group!
This was a very beautiful place to spend the week and I'm glad we found it! The owners were very accomodating. The property was family oriented, and spacious. The entire family enjoyed our stay!
We were a group of 8 enjoying our 5th year of orving in northern Michigan . Your log cabin was almost perfect for our accommodations . The beds , sheets , blankets even throw blankets on the couch made it cozy .My husband hated that he had to wait sooo long for the coffee to finish brewing .(half hour ) Also we are seniors who would have loved “grab bars” in the 2showers on first floor . Our safety in showers is a very big concern for seniors or really for anybody .Also the main bedroom bathroom no light to light up shower area . Jacuzzi tub not working very disappointing .That was one of the reasons to rent it .we felt cheated .We did contact owner her answer was not satisfactory. We would rent it again only if jacuzzi tub works.
We stayed here for a business trip, was perfect as the lower rooms were spaced for employees and our family took the upstairs ! I have to say it was nicer then expected pictures dont do it justice.
Beautiful Log Home with lots of room for large families or groups. Easy location to find and close to trails. Definitely recommend and if available I'd stay again.
We can’t compliment enough, this beautiful property. Lots of space, close to things, yet away from busy areas. My family loved the house. We have family that live in the area and they also came by to enjoy the property and we had room outside and in the house. The property managers were quick to answer any questions we had and very friendly. We will be booking again in the future!!
We enjoyed the wood stove. It was everything we were hoping for and then some. There were fresh flowers on the counter when we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked. Lots of towels and bedding! Beds were comfortable. The lighting is a bit dark for board games in the evening. Loved the beautiful game table upstairs! Bathrooms lighting was dim is our only con. It was clean! Definitely recommend staying here!
We had eight people (7 adults and 1 teenager). We had ample space to sleep and hang out. There were three full baths and a half bath. The only hangup was that one of the full baths had a tub rather than shower, but they did have a shower hose with the tub. So, you could take a shower, you just had to hold the nozzle rather than it being mounted on the wall. The table had seating for eight, but could've easily accommodated two more chairs, if needed. The kitchen had the supplies we needed with plenty of dishes, but if you need something specific for your recipe, I'd suggest bringing your own. Firewood was provided, as were lighters. Note that the house is located just off the highway, so there is traffic noise and you do hear a train whistle a few times a day. Be sure to bring whatever noise masking device you might need for sleep. Oh, and the floor of the upstairs is really creaky, so I'd suggest putting your late sleepers up there and your early risers downstairs. Par for the course with a log home. Overall, it's a spacious space with plenty of room for everyone, and we didn't even use the downstairs space other than the washer/dryer.
The house was outstanding, plenty of room comfortable beds, great parking for trucks and boat trailer, could not be happier with the home. Only negative is it’s at corner of HWY 2 and the truck and car traffic was noisy if your a light sleeper. I used ear plugs had no problem but you could hear traffic noise. Owners were very responsive
This log home was absolutely beautiful - clean, spacious and full of amazing history and stories! We rented this for a family vacation of 11 people ranging from 6months - 60+. The amenities were wonderfully thought out - games for little children to adults, rec room area, laundry room, big table for family meals, kitchen well stocked with all necessities, grill/griddle top and a beautiful outdoor space! We enjoyed talking to and meeting the family and hearing the stories they had to share - it really made our trip! The only negative I have for this is that it is located right off Highway 2 - we are definitely the family that loves to be off the beaten path a bit more but we still LOVED this home and the owners. They are quick to respond and very accommodating! We can't thank them enough for sharing this beautiful space.
