Comfortable and Convenient
This is a very nice accommodation. Lots of space, everything is functional including good temperature control, Wi-Fi, TV, fireplace and plenty of hot water and good pressure. Lots of parking is available and it is very convenient. If you are looking for elegance this may not be your spot but the unit is very well decorated and the photos are current and accurate. Regarding other guests comments about the firm mattresses, the master is firm, the twins are medium and the 2nd bedroom is soft. Something for everyone and there is a topper . The kitchen has absolutely every item and accessory you could possibly need. The unit is conveniently located on the I-70 north side service road, literally about a 4 or 5 minute drive to Lionshead parking and drop off. We did not walk to Lionshead but can't imagine it's more than a 10-15 minute trek. There is no intolerable noise from the interstate and the top floor unit, with windows all across the south side, offers a great view of Vail Mountain. One thing to consider is the 3rd floor with no elevator. Not only are there 2 flights in the building, there is the equivalent of 2 flights up from the parking lot. It's actually good exercise once you get acclimated to the 8000 feet elevation. I'm 82 and my wife is 71. It worked for us but if you have mobility issues it probably would not work for you. However, if it is acceptable, you get the benefit of an excellent accommodation for an unusually reasonable fee in Vail.

Vacasa helped make the best of a bad situation
We originally booked a two-bedroom unit in Timber Falls in East Vail that was supposed to have a private hot tub. Before booking, we contacted Vacasa to confirm that the unit did in fact have a private hot tub and that it was working; they contacted local management confirm and recieved an affirmative reply. When we arrived, we discovered that the Timber Falls unit did not have a private hot tub - it is a shared building hot tub and was closed for the season. They offered to move us to an alternative unit with a functioning shared hot tub and we accepted. The unit we moved to was Sun Vail 31B. We enjoyed the large kitchen and all three bedrooms were very quiet. The baths and kitchen appear to be recently remodeled and were very nice. The carpet needs replacing and there were many dead bugs all over the unit, but I think that was because they scrambled to get us into the unit last minute as a replacement. The building location is very good with easy access to the pedestrian bridge to Lionshead area. Too long to walk in ski boots but easy for shopping and dining. The master could really a bedside table on each side of the bed, a larger bed, and a dresser for clothing. Also, the mattress in the master bedroom is very hard for our taste but we found a foam topper in the closet that made it comfortable for us and we were relieved to find that option. This unit has a very long stair from the sidewalk/parking area in addition to the two flights in the building just to get to the unit front door. You must be in good shape to walk this with skis and boots. We did not mind, but this in not for everyone. We got a great workout every day from the stair climb. The building area hot tub and heated pool were lovely and well maintained. Overall, a very good option for us as a replacement to the original unit we rented.

Great amenities and convenient location
We really love the pool and hot tubs. The unit was bright and clean, though not set up for young kids (toys, games, kids' dishes). Good kitchen setup, but limited spices, etc - just bring what you need. Property management communication is very strange. They text and email lots of times leading up to check in (auto-messages, nobody on the other end to reply). So when I did have a question ahead of check in and again during our stay, at no point did they ever reply (either on text, to their emails, or even on the VRBO messaging system).

Great location
Sun Vail is a perfect location just across from Lionshead. It’s a super easy walk across the pedestrian bridge eliminating having to pay for parking in the garage. This unit sits on the 3rd floor and with no elevator it is a bit of a workout moving all of your belongings in and out. However, gives a great view. The floor plan is nice and open. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms had basic toiletry items. The unit was clean and furnished with basic furniture for a rental unit. We would have appreciated a king size bed in the main bedroom and also found the mattresses extremely firm. Sleeping on the main queen mattress was like sleeping on the floor. I would suggest replacing with a real mattress. Other issues- we could not get the ice maker to dispense ice properly, but could pull it out of the ice maker. Also, the oven got Smokey if trying to heat over 350. I would recommend having it checked or replacing it.
