About this property

From the moment you enter the Last Buck Lodge you are met with a stunning view that encompasses the entire valley, Eagle Nest Lake, the surrounding mountains and beyond. The home offers an open floor plan with a large great room, large master retreat plus five more bedrooms (two non-conforming), 3.5 bathrooms, and a second living area downstairs with kitchenette, dining area, game room, pool table, foosball table, and dry sauna. Finishing touches include hardwood floors, granite countertops, massive fireplace, hot tub and views from almost every room.
Located only minutes from Monte Verde Lake, ski slopes, mountain biking & hiking trails, zip lining, horseback riding, fishing, and golfing. You can also access Cougar Trail directly from the property to enjoy the miles of wonderful hiking & biking trails that Angel Fire has to offer. While Angel Fire is a wonderful place to truly get away, you can still stay connected with fiber optic high speed internet and smart TVs throughout the home including Hulu live TV service.
For dining, Angel Fire has a Lowe's Market grocery store and a number of restaurants available including: Angel Fired Pizza, Elements at the Angel Fire Country Club, El Jefe Margaritas y Mas, Enchanted Circle Brewing Company, Jeanette's Food Cart & Catering, Legends Grill, Mikuna Grill, Par & Grill at the Golf Course, Pizza Stop, Subway, Summit Smokehouse, The Village Haus, The Bakery & Café, and Zeb's.
From Angel Fire a number of day trip options are available including Taos (28.7 miles), Red River (33.9 miles), Taos Ski Valley (47.5 miles), and Santa Fe (96.1 miles). We can provide plenty of recommendations for activities in the area.
During the winter months, please keep in mind you are traveling to the mountains. We have a plow service available upon demand and we make every effort to ensure the property is accessible upon arrival and throughout your stay. However, please be prepared for extreme weather conditions as it is necessary to have 4-wheel or all-wheel drive and chains throughout Angel Fire during snows in the winter. The Last Buck Lodge is not responsible for guests' inability to reach the property due to the lack of a 4WD/AWD vehicle.

Relaxing

Everything was great! The cabin was really nice and had a welcoming atmosphere. We saw deer and elk that came up to the fire pit outside. The game room was nice with many different options to choose from to keep us entertained. The hot tub was a plus and enjoyed it as well. Check in was easy and quick. Communication with the owners was awesome!

Friends vacation

Great place with plenty of room for everyone. Amazing views! We had 3 family’s and we all had plenty of room. Fantastic kitchen with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the house. After a day on the slopes the hot tub a great way to end the day.

From the moment you walk up to and in the door you can just tell the place is simply Amazing!! The view is breathtaking. You will not be disappointed, everything you could need or want this place has in abundance! All five couples were comfortable, relaxed, and had a great time!! Thank you!!!

Last Buck Lodge is beautiful & spacious!

There were 4 children and 7 adults in our group and we had plenty of room to spread out in this spacious, beautiful home. James and Alison were amazing hosts and helped us when we had questions. The views are stunning from every window in this house. The kitchen was well equipped with high-end Alclad cookware. There are tons of games for all ages and the hot tub and sauna were enjoyed after each day of skiing. We had a few feet of snow while we were there so be sure to bring your 4-wheel drive car or chains for your tires! We saw elk and wild turkeys each day we were there! We had the best time at Last Buck Lodge and will stay again in the future!

Christmas Getaway in the Mountains

My family and I visited LBL for the Christmas holiday. The home environment and hospitality LBL’s owners showed during our stay made for one of the most memorable vacations! With 7 adults and 5 kiddos, there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the home! We soaked in the hot tub while watching the snow fall, hiked along the trail and met other friendly vacationing families, roasted marshmallows, and spent a day in Angel Fire’s visiting local gift shops. …we even spotted two deer grazing near the home and our kids thought they were sent to watch over them by Santa himself! We had everything we needed and then some. James and Alison checked in frequently via text and even took the time to check in on Christmas Day. I highly recommend Last Buck Lodge and would absolutely return!

Fantastic property with perfect location.

We had six people in our group ranging from kids to grandparents, including a couple who are high risk for Covid, so we were looking for somewhere to get away for a few days but still be able to isolate, and this place was perfect. There were plenty of hiking trails very close by, including one right behind the house. There was also plenty to do in the house itself — foosball, a pool table, hot tub, games, and a great home theatre setup. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. Would definitely recommend!

Spring Break 2021

I have stayed at quite a few VRBO properties & this house and hosts shines above the rest! The house and views are beautiful, descriptions are accurate, hosts are extremely kind and responsive. We had quite a few questions for them & their replies were immediate. One of the BEST things is how well stocked the house is for guests. Ample paper goods, trash bags, laundry 🧺 detergent, cups, plates, etc. When hosts are generous with supplies, it is easy to pay it forward and leave any additional supplies behind! We requested a late checkout after a change in travel plans and James was gracious to allow us to stay! We had one of the most memorable trips of our lives with friends and family!! Thank you for EVERYTHING!!

Moments That Made a Beautiful Memory

Last Buck Lodge was the perfect home for our family winter vacation. We were only minutes from the slopes, and spent the rest of the evening in the most spectacular views from this home. We made so many memories in the back yard sliding down the snow, feeding the deer, and playing games in the large game room. It was truly one of my favorite homes ever visited.

Absolutely stunning property inside and out with epic views.

The property was everything we wanted and more. Every element and decor was exquisite. Anything you would ever need to enjoy your home away from home can be found inside and out. We had an absolute fantastic family weekend, James & Alison were amazing and quick to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be back!
