What a PERFECT place to stay!

From the beautiful artwork and style as well as the entire design of the home plus the thoughtfulness of our hosts, we were enchanted. The back patio was a favorite place for meals, sunset watching and just enjoying the gorgeous waterfall and flowers. From great beds, fluffy robes, individual room control air, shampoos, soaps, even coffee creamer, plus quality kitchen essentials, the hosts make your stay so easy! The location is convenient to all we wanted to do and they provided directions and information that was very helpful. We can't wait to stay ath the Hobbit house again!

Sante Fe Hobbit House

The listing for his VRBO tells the story. Luxury, one of a kind experience. Perfectly located to reach all of Santa Fe in 5-15 minutes. Great location to easily make day trips to the surrounding areas as well. Pictures and words do not do justice to this property. It is one that needs to experienced. Sheila and Terry are amazingly talented and the property has everything that you can imagine for a stay. We met our adult children (6 adults) for a 7 day stay. Plenty of room for gathering or getting some private time. We all highly recommend.

Beautiful site for our stay!

We had a delightful stay at this beautiful home. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in all the home's features was such an added bonus. We really enjoyed the waterfall and beautiful garden, as well. Santa Fe has so much to see and do - the location let us access the downtown area within a short drive and was easy to navigate to. We hope to do it again and would love to stay at the Hobbit House.

Another lovely stay at the Hobbit House

This is our very favorite property of all. We have stayed here on several trips (3?4?) and always try to get the Hobbit House, if possible. The house is beautifully decorated and every need has been anticipated. On this trip, we had our two grown daughters with us and the house easily and comfortably accommodated all of us. Perfect

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Hobbit House! The house and fountain was even more beautiful than the photos, and it was immaculately clean upon our arrival. Shelia was incredibly welcoming and accommodating in her communication, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect, offering both serenity and easy access to local attractions. We loved the well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable beds. Overall, our vacation was made perfect by this wonderful rental, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience!

Magical Getaway

This property is magical! Intricate artistic details everywhere but approachable enough for our children (8 and 11). While there are plenty of adventures to be had in Santa Fe, this home is beautiful and well appointed enough to have just as much fun staying in. Excellent location, responsive hosts. Very Happy Hobbits

This house was an absolute dream! We spent a full week here with a total of 6 people and it was comfortable, well-appointed, and very conveniently located. Every logistical detail was considered, from a thorough binder full of local recommendations to a fully-stocked linen closet with innumerable extra towels, sheets, and blankets. But beyond that - the house is simply gorgeous. Hats off to Terry and Sheila for creating a home that is itself a work of art. We were dazzled by the design of every room, and probably took as many pictures of the house as we did the sites in and around Santa Fe. We would be delighted to return!

Best Vrbo stay ever!

We LOVED our stay at the Hobbit house! Not only was the house a piece of art which made our stay feel whimsical but you could tell that the hosts really care about making sure their guests are comfortable. We’ve stayed in many different short term rental homes and not one other has been as comfortable. The hosts here made sure there were plenty of towels, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, trash bags, shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, etc.. There were also cleaning supplies to clean up after ourselves which we so appreciated! They even left some coffee and 1/2 and 1/2 for us! The check in/out was simple and the hosts were very responsive to all of our messages before and during our stay! And the only reason I reached out during our stay was to exclaim about the beautiful home! And back to the home. I spent lots of time admiring the architecture and the art of making the arched doorways, the stained glass (the front door in the morning light was my favorite!!), the wall paintings, and the mosaic work!! So all that to say THANK YOU to our amazing hosts!!

Like Living in an Art Gallery

I wanted to give this property six stars, but five stars is the maximum allowed. The owners spent 5 years working on this property and it shows. Attention was paid to even the smallest details. The interior is breathtaking in its simplicity and beauty. Although we had seen photos of the interior, they could not possibly do it justice. There is an astounding amount of custom mosaic tile work. In addition, the home is both spacious and functional. The multiple skylights made the use of lights during the day unnecessary. Beds were extremely comfortable and the home was spotless. We cooked all of our breakfasts and dinners and found the kitchen the most well-equipped of any place we have ever rented.

Hobbit House in Santa Fe

The SF hobbit house was absolutely beautiful. The details in the interior design alone are incredible (mosaic tile designs throughout the entire house were like works of art). The location was convenient to the Plaza and other surrounding areas. I hope to visit Santa Fe again and I would love to stay here again! The hosts were so friendly!

A well equipped very special home

The house is truly amazing and that alone might have been enough but, it was also one of the best equipped rental properties I've stayed at. Great location for exploring Santa Fe and the surrounding area. We utilized Trader Joe's nearby and cooked almost exclusively.

Even Better than Expected!

What a beautiful home! My friends and I were in town for a Wedding at the Four Seasons. The Hobbit House made our weekend even more magical. The home is amazing, and the pictures you see in the post do not do the craftsmanship any justice. We arrived to a gorgeous, clean home, check in was a breeze. Directions were left out, and every easy to understand. The location is great, walking distance to food and shops if necessary. I cannot stress how magical, and uniquely beautiful this home is. The patio/backyard was like our personal Shangri-La. I come to Santa Fe often, and when not staying with friends I plan on coming back to the Hobbit House. Thank you to our hosts, for sharing this amazing place with us!!!

Celebration of 50 year friendship

I cannot say enough good things. In addition to the good location, the clean home, the clear instructions, the comfortable beds, functional kitchen and bath, and spacious eating and sitting areas, the home is an artistic masterpiece! We felt like we were living in a work of art. The photos on the website don’t begin to show the amazing artistry of this spectacular but comfortable home.

A gorgeous home

We had an awesome stay at this beautiful home full of exquisite tile mosaics, inlaid woodwork, and murals on many of the walls. No detail was left undone (even the garage is gorgeous). I kid you not! Everything was clean and functional. Plenty of privacy and very comfortable with a large kitchen, living room, and furnished back deck with a waterfall/fountain. We appreciated the separate AC units per room as that allowed us to individualize the room temps for sleeping. We highly recommend this spot for a getaway to Santa Fe and would have no qualms about staying again.

My wife and I have lived in Santa Fe for the last 40 years and for the last 10, we have wanted to play 'host.' We bought a house in a key location, and for 5 years, I 'dolled it up' with an attempt to make it a 'live-in art gallery.' It was so fun, I now am doing more of this kind of work. Sheila came in with her green thumb, and designed and planted the landscaping, plus, she oversaw all the interior decoration and furnishings. Now we work together to get it ready for guests. We enjoy sharing the house with our guests.
