A-frame in the mountains

This was a wonderful place to stay for family vacation! Plenty of beds for everyone and lots of sitting places to eat and relax! Real close to Ober Gatlinburg and not too far from downtown. Plus the mountains are real close to take a drive!!

Great Location and Great Open Space to Create Memories

The location is close to downtown for fun activities like Gatlinburg skybridge. Also close to many hiking trails. We also appreciated the open kitchen/living room/ dining table so we could enjoy time together while cooking and playing games. Owners are easy to reach and hospitable. Nice place and owners.

Perfect for our 2 families!

Host was great at answering questions and helping me with my first vrbo. House was just like the pictures - clean, cozy, cabin feel, and fairly spacious. Great space for our 2 families vacationing together- 11 of us. While in Gatlinburg follow their directions regarding bears... we saw one in the morning and another in the evening.

Perfect cabin!

We had the best vacation at this cabin! My brother’s family and my family slept very comfortably. We had 10 people altogether. The location is perfect and so close to downtown Gatlinburg. It’s also very close to hiking areas. The owner is so nice and helpful and answers any questions you have very quickly. We also saw bears everyday! We will most definitely stay at this cabin for our next trip to Tennessee!

Smoky Mountains Home Base

We had a lovely time with extended family at this chalet. Daily bear sightings which was a highlight. The kids and grandparents enjoyed the pool every day. We did white water rafting at Little Pigeon river and horseback riding at Sugarlands stables which was very close. The kids had fun on a couple easy hikes nearby and they shopped for souvenirs at the Sugarlands Visitor Center. The rangers at the VC were very helpful in choosing hikes for our group. The Chalet was a perfect “home base” centrally located for fun of all ages!

4 night family stay

Nice cabin with Mountain View’s, even saw a bear the last day. Good communication and easy process to check in and out Use hot tub and it was very relaxing Plenty of room for our family of 5 with 3 adults , teen and child Only recommendations would be more drinking glasses and updated pots and pans. One skillet was broken and several pots or skillets were slimy and greasy when I went to use them like they hadn’t been cleaned Thd toaster did not work properly It would have been nice to have a little more “essentials-one roll of toilet paper per bath and no cleaning wipes or anything But overall a very nice stay and short distance from Ober Gatlinburg and downtown.

Great location!

The property was in a fantastic location, close to downtown, the bypass, and the park, but still in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood on the mountain. The chalet was perfect for our family of 6 and the kids loved the arcade game!

Overall Good Experience

The property is well maintained and close to the Parkway and Ski Mtn Rd. We really had a good time at the cabin. Kitchen has well equipped except there were not enough utensils (different sizes) if you plan to cook a lot. We spotted a lot of bears near the cabin which is definitely one of the key points or our stay.

Nice Stay in the Smokies

The cabin is as described and was in a nice spot. It is decorated super cute and is a nice quiet getaway. We got there and discovered the hot tub wasn’t working which was disappointing but I reached out to the owners and they were super nice and on the spot with a solution! The best part of this particular cabin is that I think it’s on a daily route for a mama bear and her three cubs because the one day we just hung out at the cabin we saw them in the middle of the morning and again coming back down the same path that evening! The cubs played on the driveway and the front yard for a bit in the morning and we got some great pictures and videos. It was the highlight of our trip!!

Comfortable and convenient

Our family of 5 stayed in the peak season and enjoyed our stay overall. Our only complaint is the lighting. There are only a few lights throughout the house that are hooked up to electrical. The bedrooms only have lamps and the kitchen is only lit by a sconce that you plug in. Black out curtains throughout are great for the whole family. Beds were comfortable. Location is great, but there aren’t any views of the mountains from the chalet. 5-10 min drive to downtown and 25-30 to Pigeon Forge (in peak season). You’re right off the National Park Trail so you can drive to some overlooks with ease. It rained while we were visiting, but there seemed to be a lot of hiking trails within driving distance. Our kids loved the old school arcade game. They spent every bit of their time on it when we were at the chalet. The owners also have board games available to play. The chalet sleeps a lot of people, but it’d be crowded with more than one family for sure (or maybe two very small families). There are two bedrooms downstairs off the kitchen and one in the loft. You can hear every step/sound throughout, so sound machines helped us. There’s a small market down the street that will deliver to the chalet after 5pm if you need a few grocery items! They also have pizza, burgers and sandwiches. If you get in late-ish, this is a great option for dinner/grocery start up! Great communication from the owners. Check in was super easy and they checked in on us.

Fantastic cabin

We had a wonderful time in the Smoky Mountains, particularly at the Bark at the Moon Chalet. It was a beautiful space with an open kitchen/living room/dining room. It was clean and welcoming. A bear greeted us in the driveway as we were unloading our bags, it just looked at us and then made his way back into the woods. We took it seriously to not leave our car doors or the chalet door open at any time! The location was very convenient to popular hikes and activities, 5-10 min drive to downtown Gatlinburg and 15-20 to Pigeon Forge. We loved it and hope to visit again!

A+ A-Frame Fun with Bears!

Had a great time in this updated A-frame with my husband and two young kiddos. The owners utilize every bit of space yet it felt airy and relaxed. For parents of young ones, there are blackout drapes and every bit of window is covered in the bedrooms! A huge help for lots of sleep. The kitchen was well-stocked with room here and there for groceries. Hot tub is on a private side of the porch with lounge chairs out front. The view is trees with slivers of mountain here and there. Would be a beautiful view in the fall. Washer/dryer were a plus. My kiddos fell in love with the arcade in the loft full of old-school joystick games. And of course, we all enjoyed the bear sitings! Everyday we had a little visitor, guessing an adolescent bear, who had his way with the dumpster at the bottom of the hill. Note: the hill up to the A-frame is quite steep. We have fun with it and maxed out at a 13 degree incline. Folks in the winter would want to consider 4-wheel drive with snow and ice. Finally, the owners had AMAZING communication. We were last minute renters during a busy time, guessing there was a cancellation, and they were on it. I had questions and all were answered very quickly. Great place from great owners!
