Lake Cabin in the Heart of the Hiawatha National Forest

One bedroom cabin with a newly remodel bathroom and porch. Our cabin overlooks 16 Mile Lake in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest. We are only 11 miles from the beautiful Picture Rock National Lakeshore in Munising Michigan. Thirteen miles from Au Train, a great place to canoe or kayak. Close to beaches in both Munising and Au Train. It's a nature lovers paradise!

June trip

We loved our stay at this cabin. It had everything we needed for our fishing/atv riding trip. Would highly recommend staying here!!!

Peace and quiet

If you want a getaway where there's peace and quiet, this is the place. We arrived on a nice Saturday afternoon and were amazed at how quiet everything was. No one was on the lake and we only saw 1-2 people on the road in and out all week. Loved it. The cabin was very nice, comfortable bed, large rooms, and a great view of the lake. The host responded quickly to any inquiry we had before the trip. Fortunately we did not need her while we were there. The cabin was about 15 minutes from Munising so easy to get to gas station and a few restaurants. If we ever go back to the UP, we probably won't look anywhere else. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Peaceful

The cabin is quaint and wonderful. The cabin is on a lake and about 15 minutes from downtown Munising, MI. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Has a fire pit, canoe, kayak, & sauna. Would definitely stay again & would recommend to family & friends!!

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I spent the weekend at this cabin for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was absolutely beautiful! The cabin had all the classic charm but with modern updates to make it very comfortable. It was an easy 15 minute drive from all the attractions in Munising. It's the perfect place to rest and recharge. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Beautiful location and Cozy Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin by the lake. It was extremely clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. It is close enough to all the attractions in and around Munising while also being remote enough to escape the hustle and bustle. The owners are responsive and very kind. It was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to the UP and we would love to come back.

Relaxing lakeside cabin

Sweet little cabin nestled in the woods and right on the lake. Several amenities including a canoe, fire pit and sauna. We were able to escape wildfire smoke and enjoy the lake from the enclosed porch. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners were very responsive to our requests.

Wonderful Cabin on the Lake

This is just a perfect cabin for us. It's both rustic and modernized in all the right ways. The lake view is incredible. For a Finnish Canadian like myself, the sauna and canoe are really big pluses. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay.

Quiet, peaceful, accessible

The attentive hosts have gone above and beyond providing a lovely location lakeside. The trees provide a screen on each side and I neither saw nor heard anyone during my stay. Great for wildlife watching and relaxing or as a base for exploring all the wonderful attractions of Munising and the rest of the UP. Very accessible for mobility impaired visitors.

Beautiful waterfront property

The property was well maintained with a small dock, nice sand beach with fire pit. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. If your looking to escape the hustle and bustle this is the place to do it!

Sweet cabin on lake

We had a delightful time at this lovely cabin on sixteen mile lake. Beautiful seeing, with a canoe, a kayak, and a paddle boat available for our use. We had the additional gift of seeing the Northern Lights from the end of the dock!!

Munising weekend get away.

We woke up to a beautiful view of the lake every morning and enjoyed watching the sunset over the lake and the fire pit every evening. It is worth it to drive a little bit out of town to stay in this beautiful, relaxing location. The cabin was clean and comfortable and perfect for my husband and me.

Serene little lake and comfortable cottage with all necessary amenities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Saw a couple beautiful sunsets over a relaxing campfire after many day trips to lighthouses and waterfalls in the area. Wi-fi was an added bonus to keep in touch down home. Next time we want to try the sauna and my wife loved how clean and very well lit the Cabin was. I

Loved the UP

First time in the UP for us and definitely not our last! The cabin had everything we needed, was clean and perfect for 2 people. Lots of brochures, etc of info of things to do in the area. We loved the location right on the lake with a fire pit for nightly relaxing under the stars after a day of adventures in Munising. The cabin had wifi, but once you left the cabin cell service didn't work til you got near a town, at least that was the case for us. We can't wait to go back and would absolutley rent this cabin again!!

Perfect anniversary trip

My husband and I also live on the lake and enjoy the beauty this peaceful area has to offer. I was born and raised in Au Train Michigan and grew up on Northwoods Resort, so have a rental came naturally to me. My husband and I met here on 16 Mile Lake as his parents own a home here as well. We enjoy the outdoors and all that the upper peninsula has to offer. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
