Fall in love with this spacious, beautifully decorated and welcoming Polynesian stone mermaid themed waterfront home with open floor plan and ample space to relax. In addition to two bedrooms and bonus bedroom on lanai, there are also two full sized pull out sofas to sleep extra guests if needed. Your family is welcome to use the two kayaks and pedal boat in the wide canal to go around the bend and into the Gulf of Mexico! Bring your boat or jet skis and head out to the gorgeous waters and beaches of Anclote key and sandbar (3 miles west by boat) and enjoy swimming and shelling. Sometimes you will see manatee and dolphin right from the dock! This venue has such a homey feel, you won’t want to leave. There is plenty of room. The family/great room opens to a rock floored living room area that leads to the large lanai with canal water view. Great areas to spread out and relax and talk about the day’s adventures the way we did as a family. Light coastal decor throughout. Loads of character. The a/c is wonderful in this home, it is always nice, cool and refreshing. The lanai sunroom is on the warmer side for those who like it a little warmer. Savannah’s creative corner of the lanai gives the kids a fun table and area of their own to color, craft and play. This is a boating community and is truly a boater’s paradise. Deep canal and Gulf access means you don’t have to worry about getting your boat stuck. No worries of tides...you can get out or come in at anytime. Besides the beautiful off shore beaches of Anclote key and sandbar, you are close to the famous and popular Clearwater Beach, Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island, Fred Howard Park, as well as the small local Green Key beach (Robert K Rees Memorial Park).
We have provided 2 kayaks, a pedal boat and an assortment of life vests. One infant, two children’s puddle jumpers, two youth full vests, Med women’s full vest, one small and one large adult rowing vests, and 2 large adult full vests. Please bring any additional you may need, and check for safety before use and use at your own risk.
The neighborhood is great for walking, jogging and biking. There is an assortment of bikes for you to use. It has nice wide streets to accommodate. Please inspect bikes for safety before using and bring your own helmet if needed.
If you want to take a break from boating and fishing, it is fun to venture down to the spongedocks in Tarpon Springs. Be sure to stop at Hella’s for an incredible gyro or chicken souvlaki! The Greek salad for one is awesome too(it feeds two!). They also have a wonderful bakery. A little further south you will find downtown Dunedin Main Street with Strachan’s ice cream (another must with awesome home made ice cream and waffle cones), great restaurants and interesting shopping. Further south is Clearwater beach is you are looking for lots of people and a large beach experience. Visit The Pier, Frenchy’s Rock Away Grill for food and music on the beach or it’s cute Off The Hook shop for some cool beach souvenirs. Sand Key beach is a little further south if you want things a little quieter and less crowded.
Restaurants- our favorites and must stops for lunch/brunch/sandwiches:
The Lucky Dill, Palm Harbor - New York deli style Giant sandwiches, awesome corned beef, just plain cool
Tiffany’s, Palm Harbor - great breakfasts, omelets pancakes,.
Hella’s, Tarpon Springs - gyros, chicken souvlaki, Greek salad for 1 feeds 2.
Rodi’s, Tarpon Springs for breakfast/brunch. Yummy strawberry crepes and breakfasts.
Christo’s, Mitchell Ranch area of New Port Richey -my fav is the chicken ranch wrap no lettuce and coleslaw, but there are lots of great things. Mitchell Ranch plaza has lots of good eats including
First Watch, Grain & Berry, Jersey Mikes, PDQ Chicken. There is a Homegoods, Marshall’s, Target, Publix there and Walmart across the street. This is the closest hub of big store shopping.
Later for dinner: Ozona Blue in Ozona offers a great atmosphere on the water at a boat yard and offer a finer dining experience with live music on certain nights.
Closest to home: Right nextdoor is a fun place that is open late for food. Widow Fletchers. Casual bar food on the water. Whiskey Joe’s is a really fun place on the Cotee River a few miles north in Port Richey with tables and chairs set up in the sand and outdoor tiki bar/music. Catches is nextdoor to that, more upscale food. Whiskey River is across from those. Fun atmosphere, music. All of these are waterfront on the river and accessible by boat.
Rossi’s Italian restaurant on 54 is also close to home and has our favorite pizza, great Italian dishes, soups, salad. A must for pizza.
Carrabba’s is a favorite too.
Besides Strachan’s, another must for ice cream is the Hudson Ice Cream Parlor. Giant scoops, real pistachio ice cream, lots of flavors, waffle cones.
Twisty Treat and the Dairy Queen on 54 are good.
The closest grocery store is Publix just a block north on 19. There is a Cracker Barrel and Starbucks there also.
Boat rentals are available at Wynsong rentals which is just to the left before you hit 19. If you are into antiquing, there are several places to visit, Knot on Main Street, Antiques and Uniques, Ozona Antiques to name a few.
Congo River Golf Mini golf in Port Richey is probably the most challenging you will ever play! Really fun course and you get to see baby alligators!
So kick back and relax. Get ready to enjoy some of the best boating opportunities available. Visit the island! Take your boat out for the day and dock it in your backyard. Enjoy the sunsets! Walk/bike through the neighborhood. Explore the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs(remember Hellas for gyros!!!)! Visit Clearwater! Shop at some of the most amazing malls...Countryside, Citrus Park, International, The Shops at Wiregrass mall.
If you’re up for a drive north Weeki Wachee Springs has an underwater mermaid show. And Crystal River has several swim with the manatee experiences.
As with any of these recommendations, you will have to find out who is open at the time of your visit due to COVID restrictions. Remember, the Gulf and water activities are always open to enjoy. Please have fun while staying safe and well!🧜🏻♀️🌊
