About this property

Lake Huron Waterfront

Secluded two bedroom that sits on a bluff overlooking 100 ft of Lake Huron frontage all to yourself.

The cabin is located in between Hoeft state park and 40 Mile point lighthouse. 2 minute walk to the Lake Huron bike trail. (Bring your bikes)

This cabin does not have a microwave, coffee pot or laundry facilities. There is a laundromat in town with limited hours.

Things in the cabin: small refrigerator, small gas stove, outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, some dishes, some utensils, outdoor heater(commercial type) wine glasses, cast iron cookware (don’t use if you’re not familiar), and some books/magazines.

The kitchen is not ideal for cooking gourmet meals. I cook almost everything on the grill outside. When you see the view, you’ll understand why.

Two bedrooms. 2 queen beds, 1 single bed, one single roll away bed, sofa and loveseat.

This cabin is designed with spending time outdoors in mind but equipped for rainy days. Feel free to reach out to me and I can answer any and all questions. I don’t want anyone to not enjoy so here is what you may encounter:

There are pests, flies, mosquitoes, mice, bats, deer, bear. This is a cabin in Northern Michigan, in the woods. Check the internet for unusually large numbers, seasons etc. if this is something that will ruin your vacation.

The bluff is high and the stairs are steep. There aren’t excessive railings so this cabin is not ideal for unattended children untrained pets, or those with physical disabilities.

This cabin is non smoking. Feel free to smoke like a dragon, just do it outside.

I list these things because sadly, I have to. This place is for 4 people who want to check out Lake Huron and not stay in a roadside motel or a tent. If you are expecting the Hilton, you won’t find it in Rogers City:-). This is a Michigan cabin. A roof, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed, running water. Everything else is a bonus. Priced accordingly.

Do not park on the septic field. Yup, had to add this too. Do not park anywhere beyond the garage and you will be just fine.

uihkwa'tuh (great water) Vacation!
The view is breathtaking. Uhikwa'tuh is always moving and singing, the sky big, the horizon endless and the water an everchanging palette of blue. The cottage was charming. We appreciated it's 50+ year old structure and the tasteful and fun renovations taking place. We hope Stephanie keeps this gem alive. She was very accurate in her description of the place. Even if you cannot do the steps to the beach the view from the cottage is spectacular and you can access the roadside beach right off the bike trail! If you can get down to the beach...pure huron heaven! Outdoor grilling and sitting area were great too. Also the location of this cabin is in a friendly and quiet neighborhood. It is located near many parks and historical cites to explore. We did...don't miss out this place is worth a visit or two or three.

Great place but disappointed in customer service
The cottage is super cute and the location and view are absolutely killer. The teal retro kitchen is adorable. The sitting room was quaint. And the outdoor patio and overlook area were phenomenal. However, after the first night I discovered mouse droppings in the sink. And the following night I started to see them scurrying at night in my bedroom, the sitting room and kitchen in increasing numbers. The remaining nights I slept with the lights on in my room to discourage them from spending time there. I am realistic and understand that cottages like this are not air tight, and the possibilities of infestation are high. But when I messaged the owner she indicated that she knew (though she had not disclosed to me) and said that all properties in the area were seeing unprecedented mice infestations. She told me that they had plans to exterminate after I left. But there was no apology and no recompense offered. I was not asking for a refund, but it would have been nice for her to offer her apologies for my having to clean up mouse droppings each morning, disinfect my dog's bowls, and sleep with all the lights on to deter a mouse from scurrying through my bedroom. I would have been satisfied with an apology and perhaps a return of my pet fee - as clearly my dog was doing less damage than the other vermin. But I received none. And to add insult to injury, despite my careful checking when packing I even brought a mouse home! So the whole experience was poor, despite a cute property and location. I would not recommend to others.

Family Vacation
This was a perfect spot to get away and relax. The views from this property are amazing. We loved eating our meals from the picnic table and hanging out by the fire at night listening to the waves crash. The beach was so peaceful and was great for rock hunting. We had never stayed in this part of Michigan before but will definitely be back. We were able to do and see so much wihin a short drive in every direction. Thank You for sharing your property with us we had an amazing vacation.

A quaint place to “shore” have fun
The cottage is directly on the shore with some some steps. Being higher up from the shore gives it a great breeze! It is on a paved bike path, right by a Lighthouse too. We took our Kayaks to Ocqueoc Lake which is nearby. Rogers City has a grocery store, bakery, gas stations, Ace Hardware, etc. The casino in St Ignace is 58 miles, and a beautiful drive. We stayed four days but will book a week next time. Owner is amazing with communication and customer service.

Northern Michigan charmer!
This property is charmingly rustic, on the outskirts of sweet, small-town Rogers City. The remote setting on the shore of Lake Huron makes this the ideal place to unwind and unplug. Stephanie has created a warm, beachy vacation vibe in the cottage, with updated decor and a stylish yet simple finish. I was also very impressed with Stephanie's prompt communication. I stayed here in the fall and will promptly be booking for next summer. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful views and a cozy home
My son and I had a great time during our stay here! I wish we had stayed longer. We loved looking for rocks on the beach and playing in the waves. As stated in the description the flies are everywhere so come prepared. Overall a really great time! We will be back

Lovely place on Lake Huron
We had a great time staying at Seas to Exist -- the private beach is lovely with both sand and gorgeous rocks. It is on a bike bath that goes all the way into Rogers City along U.S. 23 so we felt safe taking our kids for a ride. A few additional amenities (e.g coffee maker!) would be a nice addition but we survived without :).

Solid spot & stay
My family & I enjoyed our stay at this location. The view off the back side of the home overlooking the bluff and into Lake Huron is very pretty. This is a very quiet & rustic location. The home itself appears to be in the midst of or nearly finished with a complete remodel. There are some things that need touched up/painted/refurbished. The grounds on the property were pretty unkept too, but I know it looked like we were the first group to stay here since the fall. All in all we had a good time and the minor "negative" elements did not detract from an awesome couple of days. The property is as described in the description and pay close attention to what amenities are and are not provided so that you come prepared. Communication with our host was very good as well.

Perfect location!
We had an amazing vacation! Stephanie is a kind, gracious, easy going host. The property is gorgeous, and the kitchen is super cute and functional! We grilled alot, spent $ at the local eateries, and had fires every night! We loved the enclosed porch when it was a little rainy out. Our dog River enjoyed being off leash as the neighbors aren't right on top of each other, as with many lake homes. I think he's going to sleep for 2 days straight when we get home! 10/10, we came up to relax, recharged, and get back to nature. A big thank you to Stephanie for sharing her special piece of Michigan with us. What a gem!! We absolutely can't wait to come back! A&G

Why they chose this property

I rent this out for no other reason than to share it. I did all the work in this cabin myself. I fell in love with the former owner and his story. Once that happened new construction was no longer an option and I couldn’t let just anyone gut the cabin. So I went to work.
Rogers city has found a way to stay off the radar. I have always been clueless how they pulled that off.
The cabin is so secluded. The beaches untouched. I just adore this little cottage and hope you will too.

What makes this property unique

Seclusion. 100ft of frontage to yourself.
Location. Location. Location. If located directly between the state park and the lighthouse, with the falls a short drive away.
