lovely stay

we had a lovely three night stay in june...apartment is lovely and quite large.... big enough for a whole family with room to spare. Charming little town....nice restaurant close by...any grocery shopping needs to be done elsewhere but we were well informed ahead of time...village very quiet. Nadine and her husband are on premises and couldnt have been nicer!

This is a great place to stay to explore the La Rioja wine country!

This is a pleasant apartment. You have the entire ground floor of the building. Best for one couple, Loved OT!

A slice of history

The apartment was the whole of the ground floor of a beautiful stone built house in a village of similar houses, some larger some smaller, built approx 200yrs ago. The owners, a young couple with two lovely children, had renovated the apartment to a high standard and with furniture suitable for such an old property, lovely antique drawers and display cabinets. The area was mostly vines and close to the footpath to Santiago de Compostela.

Sajazarra: A quiet, quaint country village

Flat was clean and owner was there to let us in. Extremely quiet, laid back stay which we really appreciated. Townsfolk very friendly. Easy access to Haro and Logrono. They removed the clothes washer and replaced it with a dishwasher without changing their ad in VRBO. Disappointing for long-term travelers. Several half-steps that made it difficult to go to/from bathroom at night. Bed uncomfortable and lacked bed pillows (had only decorator pillows).

Excellent vacation rental

We loved our stay in Sajazarra in Nadine's apartment. The town is well located for wine tastings and is really quaint. The apartment is large and has a nice patio table out back and stone benches beside the front door where you can watch the actions of the townspeople. Nadine is very helpful and speaks excellent English. She lives right upstairs which is super convenient. We spent our time in the area wine tasting and loved it. There was always a parking spot in the town square conveniently right outside the door. My sister in law forgot some clothes in the closet and Nadine had them in the mail within a day. We were two couples and you should be aware that the beds are only separated by curtains, but Nadine had warned us about that and it worked out fine. There is a really well equipped kitchen and an absolutely lovely bathroom. Overall an excellent find for wine tasting in the Rioja area.

Comfortable apartment in lovely town

We loved our stay at this clean, comfortable and well-appointed apartment in the Rioja region. Everything about the place and the town was absolutely charming. It would be our 1st choice for a return trip to Rioja. Thanks Nadine!

Lovely village

First of all, Sajazarra is a lovely village, and the local restaurant is good. The apartment is spacious, and the living area is comfortable and bright and the whole apartment quirky and full of knick knacks . It was just two of us here for a few days, and we found the sleeping arrangement rather tricky as the bed is up against one wall with no lamp on one side - so we had to reconfigure it ourselves as we both like to read at night. The house is old, and we appreciate this, but the hot water was intermittent when it came to having a bath. There was no dvd player, and there is no washing machine (there is a dishwasher now though) although a washing service is offered for a few euros. You can sit outside at the front but you would are right in the village square, with cars passing by - there is no real private seating area to yourselves at the front, just at the back which is an area shared with the owner and her family. Wifi was good. We only had a brief conversation with Nadine a couple of hours after we arrived, and when we had to request a TV control. She gave us good instructions of how to access the property.

Gorgeous, large characterful apartment in a square in a beatiful friendly village. Highly recommend!

We had three nights in the fab place, such a lovely place and thanks to Nadine for making us feel so welcome. The apartment is large, beautifully furnished and the kitchen is incredibly well equipped. Very comfortable and in a lovely position overlooking the square, great to sit out at the front and watch the world go by. The village is incredibly friendly and we were made to feel very welcome and our girls enjoyed playing with Nadine's daughter and friends. Great multi-use sports court in the village which is the hub of all the kids social life. Lovely restaurant/pub one minute from the house, and we really enjoyed exploring the village. A great location from which to explore the Rioja region and we would whole heartedly recommend this apartment. Great value for what is provided! Thanks again Nadine!

Great base for la Rioja

Excellent property and hosts with Nadia & family. Whether you want to have a base within close distance to lovely towns such as Haro, Logrono, Burgos, San Domingo, Vitoria etc for day trips or just chill out in a quiet rural village, this property was perfect. There is a daily bread delivery service on the doorstep each morning and an excellent restaurant in the village plus supermarkets to stock the kitchen close by too. All in all a spotlessly clean property with everything you need provided and great hosts on hand if required - highly recommended!

The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has everything you may need for a short or extended stay .Nadine herself was a brilliant host .The bottle of wine and cake on arrival a nice touch .Nadine has a wealth of local knowledge and provided us with some great tips and advice . We highly recommend this apartment, its brilliant.

Perfect place to stay in the Rioja

This gorgeous property could not be more perfect for anyone who wants a taste of village life in wine country. The home itself is spacious, beautiful, with all the amenities you could want. It's right in a cozy but vibrant community, with a great bar/restaurant just a few minutes walk away. Being there during harvest season was a real treat as we were witness to tractors and wagons busily heading out of the village for the grape harvest while we watched from just outside our front door, enjoying our morning coffee, sitting on aged stone benches. Location is excellent as it is removed from a hectic city setting, but is within easy driving distance to many many points of interest in the area. Nadine was lovely and helpful with getting us aquainted with the area.

A wonderful place to stay

This huge apartment is in a charming square in a historic village with its own castle in beautiful Rioja. It's very very well equipped and has everything you could want. Nadine the owner is very welcoming and hospitable. She gave us home grown vegetables from her garden and helped us with a phone we accidentally left there. The local towns of Haro and Logrono are fantastic to visit if you love wine and food. Visits to Burgos and Vitoria Gasteiz are very worthwhile too. Highly recommended!!!

Full of character and atmosphere

The renovated apartment consisted of the entire ground floor of a 200 year old building. The renovations retained the atmosphere of the old building yet provided a spacious, light and airy residence. Nadine was a generous host and supplied us with ample produce from he vegetable garden. The only down side was the hefty cleaning fee that we had to pay on departure. We felt this fee was unreasonable.

A must-stop on your Spain trip

If you are traveling around Spain, and are anywhere near the Rioja region, this is a must-stop on your trip. The accommodations are EXACTLY like shown in the photos, and absolutely immaculate. Every part of this space is perfection, and so clean. Nadine went out of her way to make sure we were welcomed and comfortable, and we shared great conversations about Sajazarra and the region. Oscar always has a smile and such a pleasant demeanour - we wish we could have visited more! What a beautiful surprise this stop was. The only bad part was leaving - our children cried, not wanting to go. The local pub is just a few doors down and very social and welcoming. The food there was seriously delicious and very reasonable. We walked around the village a few times with the kids, exploring the river, the play area, the back roads, the castle, and the plazas. It is a very small village, with so much character and life... you will fill your camera with photos. Our entire family had some of our best sleeps in this suite - the beds and bedding were so cozy, and the space was decorated and furnished so comfortably. A couple of days, we ventured in the car to nearby villages for wine tours, tapas, and exploring. It was some of the most amazing scenery and landscapes as we've seen in Spain. We really can't say enough about it - the accommodations, the hosts, the details, the location, the village. ALL top notch.

Wonderful Rioja Village Experience

This apartment is a very special place in a very special village. Like many other homes in Sajazarra, Oscar and Nadine have restored this village house in keeping with its history and at the same time, it is very comfortable to live in. We stayed here 11 days in the middle of a six week holiday in Spain and found it to be a perfect place to relax. The landscape is beautiful, the many villages interesting, surrounded by vineyards and colorful fields with mountains in the distance. The apartment is very clean, spacious, has a large modern bathroom, full kitchen and everything you need. The interior shows the historical stone structure and the design elements are charming. There are nice family touches that add warmth to the spaces. The WiFi is very good so we had all we needed to disconnect when we wanted and be in touch with the world as needed. Easy driving, easy parking and once here, you will want to walk and relax. Loved the bread and grocery service right outside the front door! And, of course, loved the many Bodegas. Muchas Gracias, Nadine, Oscar and family. We hope to come again.

Was macht man denn da 5 Wochen lang?
