Lobster Season 2024

This house was a great place to stay. Close to boat rams, grocery storers, and restaurants. The home and property were very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone!!!

Beautiful, but too warm for me!

The only reason Im not giving 5 starts was how very warm the master bedroom was! The house was clean, beautiful and welcoming!!! The host was WONDERFUL!!! She had a brand new fridge installed that wasn't working correctly and she was on top of it!!! It was an average off 88 in marathon our week there with god awful humidity and heat index of 112!!! I know alot of places ac units struggle too keep up. We had the house set on 70 degrees and we were on average 74-76 which was fine but there's almost a heat wall when you walk into the master and with the rest of the house being 74-76 the master was noticeably hotter than that...It's basically all windows in there and when the door is shut it get real WARM...quickly. So my fellow hot natured sleepers this may not be the best rental for you!

Great Location and Wonderful Home

The home is near Vaca cut with quick access to the Atlantic or Gulf by boat. We stayed here with my family (group of 6) and were very comfortable in this modern and clean home that had all the amenities needed for a relaxing 10 day stay. We rented a 24' boat during our stay and the canal is plenty wide and the 50' dock was perfect. If you're fishing, there is a huge ice machine that saved us a lot of money and also a fridge/freezer combo near the dock that we put to use as well. The jacuzzi was also used almost daily and is a great spot to unwind after a day of playing in the sun. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing and beautiful vacation home

Spiny lobster is beautifully decorated and the owners have created a relaxing atmosphere. The bathrooms are GORGEOUS. We also try to stay in vacation homes that are nicer than our real home…and this fits the bill! Two single kayaks and two paddle boards were available, we saw some manatees outside of the canal. There is also beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, and even a cooler bag to use! Highly suggest Bahia Honda for beach, but sombrero beach is also great for kids. The only downfall I didn’t think of in advance was the steep stairs to get into the property (although this is common with all the new houses in the keys) but it does make it harder to carry luggage and drag small kids up and down. Only thing I would suggest is maybe a pack and play and possibly small high chair for those traveling with younger kids. Thanks so much Karen for having us!

Perfect

What a great house right in the middle of the Florida Keys! We loved this location and everything about the house. No detail went unnoticed, and we have a vacation rental of our own, so we know how much effort it takes to keep one in this amazing condition. Really appreciate all the extra effort and amazing communication from the owners. We used the grill, pool, industrial ice maker, paddle boards, kayaks, bikes and all the extra amenities offered! Thank you again!!!

Has it all

New, modern accommodations on a very boatable lagoon location. Large jacuzzi made for great end of the day relaxation. Adjustable bed in master BR was a great perk Walk to several good restaurants and ‘Curly’s Coffee’ kiosk. Resident manatees made daily appearances. Owners provide all that is needed for kitchen and barbecue prepared meals. Very responsive to any needs. Marathon provides ideal central location for exploring all keys.

Spring getaway with the family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the spinylobster house! The house was clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the location was great. We did purchase a few extra beach towels and donated them to the house (we didn’t realize these were not included) since there were not enough for the 4 of us to use. One future consideration would be to have a few beach chairs and umbrella to use. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

Great home, great host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spiny Lobster Suite! We had one small issue and the host fixed it right away. The home is very clean and well stocked with dishes, appliances, and just about anything you can think of...and more! The extra large jacuzzi was an added bonus that we and our girls enjoyed during the visit. The view of the canal and the ocean was amazing. We even got to see a manatee hanging out at a neighbor’s dock! We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic

Wonderful place! We enjoyed everything about the house and the area. We brought our 24ft boat and to anyone who does this I recommend putting your boat in at the public boat ramp down the street and paying to leave your trailer at Fred’s Beds. Very tight location.

Fell in love with this property. It's quaint and has everything you need to enjoy both the indoors and outdoors. Liked the access to both the Atlantic and Gulf. Neighborhood is quiet and we have great neighbors.

What makes this property unique

Great location for fishing compared to other homes that take 20 minutes or more to get to ocean or gulf. You can get to the Atlantic in less than 1 minute and the Gulf waters in 10 minutes. Very conveniently located in Marathon. Can walk to many restaurants and shops.
