About this property

Cabin 5min to Solitude/Brighton 45-60min to Alta/Snowbird/ParkCity/DeerValley

Mystic Moose is located ~10 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon which is only 45 min from SLC Airport. The unique location of Mystic Moose provides easy access to Wasatch Front ski resorts, backcountry and the amenities Salt Lake City, Cottonwood Heights and Park City have to offer. Proximity to other resorts/activities:

2 miles to Solitude
4 miles to Brighton
21 miles away from Snowbird/Alta
27 miles to downtown SLC
An hour drive to Park City/Deer Valley resorts

If you are into earning your turns and going in the backcountry, you can start hiking and skinning from the porch and have access to the magnificent Wasatch mountains.

Another perk for renting Mystic Moose are the owners ;). We love the Wasatch mountains and have extensive knowledge of the mountains and resorts. We will be able to provide suggestions for hikes, snowshoeing trails, backcountry access, snow conditions/avi resources, which resorts have the best snow, etc. We also own season passes to Wasatch resorts and if the timing works, will meet guests on the slopes for personal tours.....basically giving you the local tips.

We do our best to maintain the hot tub but availability of our hot tub is not guaranteed.

We had a great stay

This is a really fun house and Soroush is a fantastic host. The house is exactly as described, clean, everything works, and it’s in a perfect location. The house has personality, which really adds to the vacation quality. The host communicates clearly and is helpful. Highly recommend!

DISAPPOINTING

First upon booking I was immediately notified by the property manager that the hot tub was not working. When I tried to cancel, I couldn't so I had to call VRBO and then the manager pointed out to read their "small print" which indicates the tub may not always be working! To make it right the property manager made certain the hot tub was working. However, the disappointment came when we saw the small one, maybe two person stand alone hot tub. Legend 222 hot tub 24 inches tall and 6 ft. wide, say no more. I wish I would have cancelled when VRBO made arrangements. Also know the cabin is well kept and charming but sits in a very run down cabin area just off the main canyon road, so road noise is HORRIBLE and neighboring cabin not good. Positives, its next to a beautiful river.

Comfy cabin, great hottub, beautiful location!

We really enjoyed our stay. When it got snowy, the owner even came to help clear the driveway and check the hottub. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome cabin, location, and host!

The cabin had every amenity you could ask for in a ski trip and on top of that had a great location. It is just a few miles from solitude and Brighton, and saves on over an hour of travel time if you were coming from the bottom of the canyon. We also ski toured and didn’t have to drive anywhere, just walk out the front door, clicked into our skis, and started climbing to some of the best terrain in big cottonwood. On top of that, the host is phenomenal. Before our trip he gave us great recommendations on gear and where to tour. During our stay it snowed 3-4 feet and he always made sure the driveway was clear. He also went above and beyond as we were getting low on wine (nearest wine store is a 60 minute round trip). He didn’t hesitate to offer to pick up wine for us on his way up to shovel, which is a first on the many rentals I’ve stayed in. I will stay here each time I come to Utah!

The best experience

I had the best experience, we felt so secure, the host was always looking that we had fun & feel secure, he came 2 days in a row to clean the snow from the cabin and the street. He was so humble & kind. Highly recommended 🙏🏼

We love to travel and are avid fans of the outdoors and staying at vacation rentals has been a major part of our travel experiences and we are excited to have the opportunity to create amazing experiences for others and give back. Big Cottonwood Canyon has been a special place for my wife (Shannon) and I and we are excited to be sharing our special place, Mystic Moose. We realize how much impact your place of stay can have during a vacation, so we try to bring all small and big touches to Mystic Moose so our guests are most comfortable.

During the summers, we like to spend our time hiking, camping, backpacking and biking. During colder winter months, we snowshoe, tour the backcountry on a splitboard or snowshoes. Because of our obsession with the outdoors, we are very familiar with Wasatch Mountains and are always looking forward to be sharing our knowledge with others prior or during their stay. We are even up for taking a few turns with our guests on the slopes to show them around so they can navigate the resorts better for the best experience possible. We can also help with ski rental suggestions, etc.

Why they chose this property

Mystic Moose is located in Pine Tree Village within Big Cottonwood Canyon. This is a very small and quiet neighborhood with plenty of hikes and places to explorer from the front door.
