Great, But…

Super great location, beautiful interior, really really responsive property manager! But a couple of misses. The AC didnt work very well - which is pretty important in Savannah during the summer time. There are room fans available for each room for added coolness, but just a heads up. We also only had one clean towel, the other was balled up in a hamper, so cleanliness/house keeping was questionable. We made it work and had the best time on our trip, but knowing those factors are a big deal for some wanting to share. Have to say incredibly nice and responsive PM. Thanks for an incredible location and a beautiful place to stay!

AMAZING property and location with a TERRIBLE property manager!

From our first inquiry the property manager was VERY RUDE. I simply inquired about property issues other residence faced and John, the manager, was immediately aggressive about he doesn’t read reviews and even offered a refund, confident I would only give a bad review (which he doesn’t read anyway). After getting Vrbo involved wanting the refund offered due to his attitude, which never happened even after he suggested it, my spouse and I chalked up and headed to Savannah hoping for the best. I was extremely happy with the property upon entry! The location was perfect, just a few blocks from Forsyth Park. The issues others claim appeared to be fixed, thank goodness, and we had a great vacation. It’s ashame such a beautiful property has an awful manager. I do recommend anyone to stay at this property but fair warning regarding communication with John.

STAY AWAY!!!

Do not let the pictures fool you, this is a terrible property that is not cleaned and the "host" is an incredibly rude person who hung up on me when I first contacted him. You can see the patterns in the comments here. Dirty, unresponsive, broken items. After hanging up on me the "host" moved to a text only system where he lectures guests on being polite. He also said I made his life harder because I dared to question the cleanliness of the bathroom. So expecting a clean property when I arrive and expecting the host to actually clean it if it is not clean is bad for business? The property is neglected with huge weeds out front and I found hair in the drain when I arrived, and sent him pictures of the unclean sink in the bathroom and he blamed it on hard water stains and then continued to berate me over text. Yet, I was able to clean it in a few seconds using the cleaner left in the bathroom cabinet. The shower does not work properly and floods the tub and does not give decent water pressure because the cheap faucet cannot change from tub filler to shower. That is why all of my showers made me stand in a foot of water. This was AFTER he came and fixed the tub that was not draining properly. Somehow he missed this when he supposedly cleaned the bathroom. Hair caked onto the return air vent, mold at every AC vent, ceiling leaks, lights and outlets that do not work. No instructions on how to use the lock into the unit. No key for the back door to the weed-filled "courtyard" that should be an emergency exit. The dishwasher was not emptied out, the bed sheets had stains on them, and the rug in the bedroom is FILTHY. Are these the "high quality linens" advertised? The closet is full of random stuff and there is no room to even get to the three hangers to hang up your clothes. The building is a typical neglectful Savannah landlord but if it had been clean and the host been responsive and polite it could have been a good experience.

Savanna trip

The house was clean and in a good location. However, the lock on the front door downstairs as well as the front door to the apartment and the back door of the apartment did not lock! We could not get the door to lock no matter what we did. We tried to contact the host and still haven’t received a response. There were only two towels in the entire house and we had 3 guests. Also the pull out bed was completely broken. Our third person had to sleep on a broken pull out and there were no sheets or anything to put on it.

Deeply disappointed by this one I'm afraid. When we got there it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned since the last guest stayed. The bed was unmade, there was a full trash bag still in the trash waiting to be taken out, a towel had been haphazardly tossed into the shower, and there was a used q-tip on the bathroom sink. The Wi-Fi was non-functional, and it was unclear which we were supposed to connect to as we wire only told to connect to SAMP, but there was only samp166a, samp166, and others following the same name scheme. It was trial and error and when we found the one the password did work with it told us we were connected but had no internet. I ended up using data the entire stay, which was deeply frustrating. It is also misleadingly listed, as the master bedroom and living room are in fact a single room with no door connected directly to the kitchen and the only other bedroom has a very poor quality, slightly broken, pull out couch. All of this might, Might, have been fixable if the owner ever responded to us. I messaged him using the Vrbo app and simply never heard back. The neighborhood is lovely and would recommend it to anyone interested, but for your own sake, please find a better property to do it in

Great location....

Using app was easy...check in easy.... location quiet and easy access to everything. However, the property could use some upgrades. Was not able to locate linens for sofa bed and with only one towel each (and washcloth) had to do laundry daily. AC was great. Outside curb needs attention as bushes are very overgrown.

Our perfect Savannah getaway!

My daughters (10 and 13) and I loved this house! The location was PERFECT - only about a block from Forsyth Park and the free DOT shuttle to River Street! 3 minute drive to Kroger (supermarket), 7 minute drive to Leopold's (Ice Cream) if we were going after the shuttle ended (during which time parking is free and plentiful, anyway). The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a few small requests and he was very prompt and generous in helping us out. Check in and check out were seamless. The property, itself, was amazing. We felt like we were true locals, living in an historic home on a tree lined street. Everything was walkable, including the downtown, if you felt like strolling through beautiful streets and parks along the way, or the free shuttle was just a block away. I was concerned about a few slightly negative reviews, but none of those concerns or complaints were justified, from our experience. We had no complaints at all and my daughters wished we didn't have to leave to go home! Thank you for an amazing vacation!

What a great place! The pictures are spot on its close it is to EVERYTHING. Forsyth Park, the Mercer house, dozens of shops restaurants and bars ... super convenient!

Great location and charming space but opportunity to improve cleanliness

My husband and I stayed here for a week and had a mixed experience. The space was charming, mostly comfortable, and very well-located on a charming & quiet street. However, the space was not as clean as we would’ve liked and had a number of things that needed repairing.

Cute Condo in Historic District

This property was just as pictured in the listing. Perfect for me and my college aged daughters. The wifi was problematic, so if that is important, this may not be the best place for you. The neighborhood is cute and safe. Everything in the historic district is walkable. We had a great time!

No running water and can’t flush the toilet. I do not recommend this place. Previous guests had the same issue, but our host John failed to inform us before checking in. What a way to spend your holiday with your family. I feel bad for the next guests who will have no water and I realized I should have left a note in the house. If anyone is having same issue getting refund from this rental, don’t waste your time connecting the host, just dispute your charges with your credit card company and you will be refunded right away. Upon confirmation of my booking through Vrbo, I was provided with host’s phone number and when we called, it was a different person who pick up and had no idea how her number was listed on John’s property. We called Vrbo customer service and finally got John’s number and when we called him and texted him with our issue with no water, he refuses to talk with us and asked to send message through the app. Every time we called, there was automated messages set up in he’s phone saying “Hi how can I help? If this is regarding a reservation hosts cannot communicate outside of the messenger that you can find within the app or website in your itinerary. Someone on our team will answer your question quickly.” We checked in to the property past 9pm and unfortunately, it was too late for us to find a hotel. Our son had passed out and all the luggage were unloaded into the house upstairs. The main bedroom was okay to stay but the 2nd room with foldout couch is not in good condition for anyone to sleep in. Sheets were dirty with stains and blood marks, I found bugs crowing around. I have pictures of all this for evidence. Kitchen carpet is very dirty, and some mole found on ceiling by the laundry machine. House has dust everywhere and the photos you don’t see on the Vrbo website such as bathtub and stairway to 2nd floor is pretty disappointing and needs lot of work. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Most unpleasant rental experience of my life.

Charming…. but stairs!

My mom and i Loved the location and the charming space, but I would not have booked it, Had I known that it was on the 2nd floor. The stairs were steep and the railing unsteady - to get into the building and up yo the apartment. Also, the door to the back balcony/ “courtyard” was locked with no way out. Still, it was a super convenient location!

Unfortunately we were not able to stay for the time we booked. Once we arrived to the location, checked in, we noticed a leak coming from the ceiling right as we walked it. When we tried to lower the air as it was hot inside the leak became worse. We tried for a hour to get in contact with someone to assess the situation but no one was any help. Then we looked further at the leak and noticed very high points of black mold growing from the ceiling as where the leak(s) were coming from. Like large amounts of the black mold. I have pictures and a video. I have a serve allergy to mold so we let immediately. Again we kept trying to reach out to someone as we had already purchased this location for the weekend. We had to get a hotel as we could not stay there. We have a claim open trying to get a reimbursement but have still yet to here for the host after letting them know the situation. Would not recommend until the black mold of taken care of.

Sweet Little Getaway

Perfect little property in walking distance from all historic monuments, River Street, shopping, restaurants and was a bonus being right next to Forsyth Park. Would definitely stay again, totally worth the price and location.

Clean and great location!

Quiet neighborhood, and I loved looking at all the gorgeous properties in the area on our walks. It’s a great location only a ~20 minute walk from all Savannah has to offer. The place was clean and private with easy check in. Could definitely be good for a long stay since it has a full kitchen, washer, and dryer.

Disappointing

The pictures of the upstairs apartment are misleading. There are no lights for the outside porch which makes it difficult to retrieve your key to unlock the door. The foyer lights are so dim you can barely see the 19 steep steps to climb. The banister is very unstable and could be dangerous. The steps have not been cleaned and there are spider webs in the corners of the steps. Once inside the apartment we found most light switches do nothing. You cannot turn on a ceiling fan without the light coming on. They don’t work separately. There is a lot of dust on the baseboards and doorway trim that has just been ignored. The sofa that makes into a bed slopes down and dips down into a hole in the middle right section. If the place had lights outside and inside and had a deep cleaning and a new bed for the second room it would help immensely. You will also have to wash any pans you cook with (if you cook) as they are left out to collect dust. I can’t recommend this property to anyone at this time. However it does have simple possibilities.

Girls Trip

My daughter and best friend stayed at the property to visit my other daughter at SCAD. Pros- easy parking on the street, nice amount of space, plenty of toilet paper and soft towels (some reviews said there was not), ease of entry, good location close to Forsyth Park, one comfy bed, amazing shower pressure and shower head. Cons- no coffee as promised and was not delivered as promised after contacting host, downstairs guests were drunk and disorderly and kept leaving their door to the street unlocked, sofa bed was not comfortable, construction noises next door. Overall it was a great deal for the price. Would stay there again.

Historical Savannah

Cute place just as the pictures indicate. The master bed is sooo comfortable, I didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning. My friend slept on the sofa in the bedroom (she didn’t pull out the sofa bed) and she felt it was very comfortable. Cann’t say how the pull-out bed was. The property manager was quick to assist when we needed something. The one thing I don’t recall reading (sorry if it was indicated) but the steps to the 2nd floor apartment are very steep and quite a few steps—rather difficult if you are carrying heavy luggage. Luckily for us we only had hanging clothes and small totes. NOTE: if you need anything that might be missing from the apartment, the property manager is very quick to respond. The location was great for us as we like walking; however there is a free bus that is only 2 blocks away (DOT). Also Kroger grocery store is a 7 min walk and a delightful coffee shop/restaurant is right in Forsyth Park and only 5 min walk.

Great location

Property needs work. It has great potential but needs updating in many areas. The staircase did not feel safe. The mole and mushrooms growing on the ceiling can’t be healthy. There was a notice on the door. There was only one bath towel and when I reached out there was no help. The shower city has pink mold and smelled of urine. I loved the overall character of the place and the location to Forsyth Park.
