Disappointing unit
We love Amelia Island Plantation and have rented other units there before. Unfortunately, the unit we love recently sold and was removed from the rental pool, so we tried this one. This unit was not clean. My kids found old, dusty dog toys under the sofa, and debris was under one of the beds as well. One of the bedrooms had holes in the closet where they had obviously removed something built-in and just never bothered to repair it. The kitchen was ill-equipped and the appliances were all sub-par. One of my kids got cold one night, but there was not a single extra blanket in the entire unit. This is clearly a condo that gets used and abused as a rental, with not much care or attention given. It's fine if you're just looking for a place to sleep while you're at the beach, but we've stayed at much nicer units for comparable prices before. Not that this is anything the owners can control, but there is one slow elevator for the entire complex, so most of the time we wound up taking the stairs to the top floor because we couldn't get the elevator to come or it was going to be too full of people and we didn't want to cram in. It also made loading and unloading when arriving and departing difficult.
