This was the perfect place for us to stay! We appreciated being able to have a long weekend vacation to stay with our dogs at a time the colors are optimal. It was very easy to travel around the North Shore both north and south. The amenities were great and make it a nice place to stay year round. We hope to be able to stay again!
Cozy cabin with all the essentials. Great location with proximity to trails along the Beaver Bay / Silver Bay portion of the North Shore. Cabin is not on Lake Superior, and far enough away from Hwy 61 that you do not hear the road much. Easy walk from cabin to Gitchi Gami bike trail. Cute barrel sauna, very clean cabin, easy instructions to enter and check out.
Great location between State Parks on the North Shore and fun selection of games and books for my family of 5. My kids thought the sauna was cool and also enjoyed exploring the grounds a little.Overall good stay, but there were a couple of not so positive items. First, the comforter in the master bedroom had a weird stain which was a little disturbing. Second, I think there were mice or something similar in the wall. Maybe that is to be expected for a rustic cabin in the woods, but thought it was worth mentioning.
We were in the area for a Side By Side ride. Place was perfect for what we needed. It’s right on the trail system. Plenty of parking for out 3 pickups and trailers plus the wheelers. Everything we need to cook meals and more. Will definitely go back if in the area.
Beautifully decorated, very clean and had everything you needed for cooking indoors or outdoors. The sauna was awesome and a great way to end the night.
We loved this VRBO! Beds were comfortable, all amenties we could have needed were provided and the location is perfect for access to many North Shore excursions. Would 10/10 recommend this for a family getaway at an affordable rate.
Loved the property. Off main Hwy but close to a lot of attractions. Needed for nothing.

Absolutely amazing stay. Cabin was beautiful and impeccably clean. It was so quiet and calm, Mel the property manager was so attentive and easy to get ahold of. We didn't want to leave!!!
Absolutely wonderful accommodations for our family. Comfortable beds! Well stocked cabin. As a carpenter, love and appreciate all the unique touches with the woodwork!! Great home base for all of our adventures on Hwy 61Nortb Shore MN and Canada!! Wanna return but in the fall to see it all in a different way!! Thank you
Amazing! We came for my first marathon and wanted some chill time after with kids, my partners parents wound up joining us and we had ample space and loved the kitchen to cook for all and great sauna and firepit. Everything we needed!

Beautiful cabin with direct access to the snowmobile trails!
Our group of 5 family and friends had a great time. The cabin more than lived up to our expectations. Great access to the trail system. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.
Cabin and location were great. Just enough room for our large trailer, and right on the trail. Inside was much better than the pictures show. Great little cabin.
Our stay was fabulous!! Melissa is a great host and very responsive. Great clean space with accommodating features. The proximity to town and trails is so convenient. The property has land to explore and a great lookout spot! And the sauna was the cherry on top! Feeling totally recharged and refreshed! Thank you!
Amazing location just minutes away from great hikes, trails, waterfalls, rivers, the lake, and bars/restaurants. And it really feels like home - clean, comfortable, all the amenities you need for an incredible trip to the north shore.
This was our second time staying at this cabin and it did nothing but improve. We will be looking to come back for a third stay. Great location and right off the main road.
We’ve stayed here before and would stay here again. Great location by many state parks, comfortable beds, responsive host, has amenities we appreciate like a dishwasher and washer and dryer, and a cozy feel to the interior.
We picked this place mainly because it was on the atv trails, but it's a really great cabin. Little out of town so private but close enough to just run and grab something if you need it quick. Would stay again for sure!

About the host
Hosted by Melissa Bellanger
We are a family of five. We have another rental in the area and we love the North Shores variety of activities. One day we will be hiking, then biking, then on ATV or Snowmobile trails. I wish we had more time for the North Shore ourselves. I seem to enjoy more the more time I spend up there. Every season has something new to offer.
Why they chose this property
I loved the private lot of the Trail Shack and the convenience and flexibility that it offered. I wanted a clean, comfortable place with some character. I loved the access to all of the trails. You can access beaver bay and silver bay through the trail systems and avoid ever going on highway 61.
What makes this property unique
Easy access to roads, trails, restaurants, bars, activities without compromising privacy.
