I stayed at this darling cottage with my aunt for a family reunion in Praha, TX. The house was so clean and lovely. We did not cook but the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you might need to cook any meal. All the decor was fun and authentic antique farm tools, photos. It was very charming and we enjoyed our stay.
Cute, cozy, and amazing little property. If you're looking for a getaway outside of the hustle and bustle, this is it! The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well equipped. It's on a lovely property with a pond, great sky views, fire pit, and cows! Amazing communication and very accommodating hosts as well. A+++
loved our stay at Rockin’ P Ranch! Sat on the patio for coffee in the morning and a beer in the evening and enjoyed the breeze. My 5 year old loved swinging on the swing out there and watching all the grasshoppers. Took a 25 min drive Saturday morning to the farmers market at the Jersey Barnyard and fed the goats and fed the calves milk. Loved our trip to Flatonia, beautiful and relaxing. Only negative was the water did smell like sulphur, but that is typical for the country, just caught us off guard. Thanks for sharing your home with us, we loved the story you shared on the house and artifacts!
It was such a nice weekend getaway with friends and the house was well suited for us! Shopping in Warrenton, TX was about 40 minutes away on a beautiful country drive. The house was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evenings!
Really enjoyed our time here! Property owner was responsive and great. Looking somewhere awesome to get away- this is your place! The outside area was our favorite!

The cabin is so cute. Everything is well stocked. Kitchen and baths are very up to date. It has a great patio with fire pit. This is a great place to get away from everything. Be aware there is no TV and the internet is slow. This was not a problem for us but don't plan to work from home. It is a beautiful property and we would happily visit it again!
We stayed at Marcie’s place while traveling to Texas for the RoundTop antique show. Great location for attending the show. Got to enjoy some peace and quiet, have some space, while still being close to various locations. Me and my family couldn’t stop saying how clean the place was, maybe the cleanest VRBO rental I’ve ever had. She was fast to respond to my questions. Would stay again next time we come for the show! Thanks Marcie.
The house is cozy, comfortable and well stocked. Outside, we enjoyed the patio and fire pit. We chose this property because we wanted to visit the nearby painted churches and it was perfect. We would stay here again.
I loved this cabin! It is very comfortable, well-equipped, convenient for our tour of the painted churches, and genuinely in the country. The land is beautiful; only one neighbor and that one not within sight from the cabin. I highly recommend this lovely place if you are planning a visit to this part of Texas.
We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful property. Beautifully decorated home. Well stocked with everything you need for a cozy, comfortable stay. Fenced in property all the way around. Short walk to the pond. Town of Flatonia is very friendly and picturesque. Enjoyed going to the rail fan pavilion to watch the trains. Already planning for a return trip!

About the host
Hosted by Marcie Payne
We live in West Houston and purchased this property in 2010 and have enjoyed it throughout the years and now we would like other families to be able to enjoy it as well.
Why they chose this property
Simple, modern cabin to slow down and explore the country side. We offer a radio with Bluetooth capabilities but you will not find a television or video game console. Our goal is to enjoy the outdoors and explore the surrounding areas.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is nestled on 13 acres and has a fully stocked pond. (a bit low now due to the drought) Enjoy exploring the woods and seeing the wildlife. We have seen many birds, deer, roadrunners, armadillos, rabbits, racoons, and the occasional skunk. The property is perfect for exploring central Texas. With in a hours drive you can enjoy Gruene, Bastrop, Luling, Lockhart, Austin, Victoria, Brenham, Belville, and many more.
