About this property

Luxe WATERFRONT Home - Welcome to The Foxtail

At any time of year, enjoy all of the renovations we've made to breathe new life into this beautiful colonial home, originally constructed in 1860! You'll find that we're tucked away, far from life's distractions. Surrounded by the most incredible foliage, wildlife sounds, and of course, the beautiful Cohansey River, take a load off and relax.

You'll arrive after driving about half a mile down a private road. Park your car beneath the car port and enter from the rear of the house.

First, you'll walk through the recently renovated, spacious kitchen that begs for entertaining. Brand new, stainless steel appliances are ready to whip up homemade meals. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and dishes. Grilling tools, a standard drip coffee maker, and cutting boards are provided.

To your left, you'll see a full bathroom, laundry room, and access to one of the bedrooms with a king bed. Straight ahead, have a seat on one of two leather couches - a peaceful place to enjoy the fireplace (firewood provided!), watch a movie, or battle it out over some cards or one of the board games provided (including Cards Against Humanity and Catan!)

Also on the first floor is a large dining room with a table offering room for eight and uninterrupted views of the river. Upstairs, you'll find three more bedrooms and two more full bathrooms.

The front of the house features a porch that's perfect for an early morning yoga session or simply a place to sip coffee (or cocktails) and enjoy the view. Take a walk around the property and find a hammock in the most serene location or soak your tired muscles in a brand new outdoor spa. We encourage guests to bring their own water rafts and toys. And last but not least, don't forget to gather around the fire pit for conversation and s'mores.

(A note on pets and large gatherings... we will consider pets on a case by case basis, as well as large gatherings or events such as baby showers, bridal showers, retreats, weddings, retirement parties, etc. for an additional fee.)

A Getaway Close to Home
We all had a wonderful weekend away, without being that far from home. The house was a perfect fit for the 3 couples, with a little extra room to spare. We love cooking so the full kitchen was so welcome and the hot tube was pure joy in the colder winter air. The house was clean, beautifully appointed, and welcoming. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming. We will be back!

Lovely Retreat
Foxtail house is a comfortable, spacious and peaceful retreat. Located on a stunning section of tidal river you will find yourself mesmerized by the wildlife, bird song and the play of light on the marsh grasses. We were a group of 6 family members attending a days long memorial gathering and we were very thankful to be able to return to such a lovely home at the end of the day. Clean, fully stocked kitchen, great bathrooms, several indoor and outdoor gathering spots as well as bedrooms well spaced for quiet and privacy. Nicolette is very responsive and helpful owner/manager. Expectations, instructions (hot tub, air conditioners, etc) and house rules are clear. We would and probably will stay here again. Foxtail is a very special place. Thanks Nicolette!

Easter with the grandparents
My husband, 6 year old daughter, and my parents stayed here for a long weekend over Easter. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. We hung out around the fire pit, sipped drinks on the porch, relaxed in the hammock and hot tub, and enjoyed all the spring blooms in the beautiful yard. We cooked meals in the well equipped kitchen and after dinner enjoyed playing games in the dining room. Couldn't have asked for a better place. My parents stayed in the master bedroom downstairs, while my husband, daughter and I enjoyed a "sleepover" in the king bedroom upstairs. Two more couples could have comfortably joined us without feeling crowded. Nicolette was lovely to communicate with throughout the check in and out process, and the house was very clean and in top notch condition. Can't wait to go back! As soon as we drove down the lane on our way out my daughter asked if we can come back for summer vacation.

Lovely Foxtail House!
My family and my parents thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Foxtail house, and I’m a bit of a hero for finding this gem for our vacation! I wouldn’t be surprised if this stunning house were to adorn the pages of a décor magazine; the beautiful woodwork, large windows, plank flooring, cream plaster walls, high ceilings, and combination of traditional and modern fixtures and furnishings provide warmth and a sense of history while feeling light and spacious. The setting feels private and peaceful with beautiful views of the river, and the neighbors on either side not close and mostly hidden. We loved seeing the flock of peacocks from next door wandering the property, and one morning we were lucky to see a pair of bald eagles perched on a tree by the water. My parents are interested in gardening, so they were delighted to see some unusual trees and shrubs planted around the house. We hope to return to the Foxtail for another relaxing vacation someday soon!

Annual college reunion
We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully renovated property. The setting on the water is beautiful. We cooked dinner in every night and enjoyed cocktails by the fire pit. Highly recommend this property.

Hi! I’m Nicolette. Born and raised in NJ and now living in The City of Brotherly Love 8 years and counting. My background is in marketing and a few years ago I transitioned to real estate. I absolutely love my work and now, everywhere I go, whether I’m walking through my neighborhood in Philadelphia or meandering along a quiet European street, I can’t help but obsess over local architecture and home design.

My favorite things include my fiancé, Jon, our dog, Palmer, mac n cheese, and coffee. Runners up include eating out, either exploring new restaurants and returning to favorite haunts, summer time and everything amazing that comes with it, and a good book.

I’ve stayed in short term rentals all over the world and love that it enables connections with new people. I look forward to meeting you :)

Why they chose this property

The most beautiful sunsets, the peace and quiet, the serenity, the sounds of wildlife... we fell in love with The Foxtail the moment we first laid our eyes on her.
