This exquisite log home, fondly called The Lumberjack Lodge, is located in the Chestnut Valley Golf Club Development, in Northern Michigan. This is the perfect home for group or family getaways!
Location-location-location! It is very close very close to downhill skiing (can you say Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands are only 10 minutes away!). There are cross-country and snowmobile trails are right out your front door. Golfer? Novice or professionals alike will enjoy the golfing at Chesnut Valley!

Lakes, trails, hunting, biking, farmers markets, fishing, oh my! If you want it, I am sure you will be able to find it! And then there's Lake Michigan and the dozen of wonderful inland lakes that are only a few minutes from this spacious cabin.

With 8 bedrooms (first floor master suite) and multiple sleeper sofas you can relax comfortably and claim your own space if you need to :)

Being a sprawling 7,000 square feet you don’t even need to leave home while enjoying these activities-

Enchanted Forest Weekend
This is a beautiful home in Northern Michigan with close proximity to Boyne Highlands. We had a group of 5 couples over the age of 50 that went up north to enjoy a fun weekend away on the Enchanted Walk at Boyne Highlands, play cards/games, eat great food and enjoy each others company. The size of the home accommodated our group nicely. All the couples appreciated having the option of a queen bed or king bed to sleep on. The layout in the basement in regards to the bathroom location is a bit odd, but we made it work. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor hot tub! On a side note: Upon arrival there were dishes in the dishwasher, crumbs on the counter and on the floor by the stools, old ice bags in the freezer and goo on the shelf in the fridge. We cleaned up kitchen area, wiped down counters, emptied dishwasher and then settled in. The rest of the house was clean and good to go. Maybe the previously group was not diligent in helping upon their exit? There were a few issues with a smoke detector beeping intermittently, windows not closing completely in master bedroom main floor and window by the door leading out to the hot tub, and the door exiting to hot tub would not lock. We were planning to use the outdoor grill, but chose not to because it does need a thorough cleaning. We did let the cleaning staff know of the issues upon departure to relay to property management.

Wonderful Ski Weekend Stay
This house was the perfect home base for our winter break ski trip. There’s was plenty for the kids to do and the proximity to Nub’s Nob was great. We had plenty of space for everyone to relax after skiing all day. We just loved it! Thank you for hosting us.

Guys golfing trip
What was to have been a fishing trip on Captiva Island was quickly changed to a golfing trip in Northern Michigan due to hurricane Ian. Our hearts go out to all those who lost their lives and have had lives upended. The “lodge” was the perfect place for our group of 10. With 8 bedrooms and lots of baths, we fit nicely in the space. The large living room/dining/kitchen area keeps everyone together well for socializing. I would highly recommend this place to large groups for year round enjoyment.

Beautiful stay
We had an excellent stay here! The house was very large with open common areas as well as separated sleeping quarters for all guests. The house was clean upon arrival and had all amenities. The host was prompt in returning messages and very friendly. Would recommend and love to stay here again.

Amazing family trip
We had four families with children ranging in age from 8 to 14. We were looking for a place that could comfortably hold all of us on a long ski weekend. The lumberjack lodge absolutely was the perfect place for us. It is an absolutely beautiful property and it looks even nicer in person. We were all blown away when we first walked in. It had enough rooms and spaces to fit each of us comfortably. Our younger boys especially loved having their own area in the loft space over the garage. Everyone else found a place to spread out. Stacey was by far the easiest host we’ve worked with and was extremely quick to answer any questions. She addressed one minor snag very quickly. We can’t say enough about the host and the property. We hope to come back again!

Fantastic Weekend
We utilized this home for a Staff retreat of 12 adults and found the property to be great for our group! It was close enough that folks were able to take a few hours in the day to do some local shopping in Petoskey and Harbor Springs. The kitchen served our group very well and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We will be back again!

Wonderful Cabin Home
We rented this home for a large family gathering to memorialize our parents who passed during Covid. Everything about the home was beautiful. We really enjoyed the large lower level room with bar. The house has multiple great gathering areas. The whole house was spotless. The play room area was great for the little kids. The outdoor fire pit was really nice to relax at night. Stacey was always very responsive and helpful. If you are looking for a large beautiful home near Harbor Springs you will love this home.

A Terrific Week in Northern Michigan
This property was absolutely perfect for our family. My wife and I were celebrating our 47th Anniversary with our four adult sons and their partners and our one grandson (under 2). The small bedroom alongside a bath and large bedroom was prefect for our son with the small child.. Some of our sons had to work occasionally and the house offered many places to do so without disturbing others or being disturbed. It also offered large area where all 11 of us could get together. The location is also great as it is only a short drive from both Harbor Springs and Petoskey. And I must also mention the terrific and incredibly quick service response of the agent Stacey. There was a power outage from the storm in the area, during our stay and she quickly contacted the power company for us. This house was really a great setting for a terrific week for all of us.

Our family “mitten” group
The house was gorgeous and definitely has an up north setting. There were plenty of beds for our 4 families. The kitchen was well stocked. The master bedroom with the fireplace was beautiful! Enjoyed using the hot tub in the evenings with a fire in the fireplace. The house was centrally located for day excursions to Charlevoix, Petosky, Mackinac City (ferry to Mackinac Island), Torch Lake (tubing), Fisherman’s Island State Park, and several golf courses close. Lots of fun was had by all.

The unit easily accommodated our large family. It has a lovely location on a golf course and is well-situated for access to local attractions. The unit does need some refurbishment. We had issues with the refrigerator and needed to buy ice to preserve our perishables. The downstairs shower sauna never was repaired( we had been told by owner in advance about this).The front steps were unusable - had 13 loose bricks. The oven temperature was inaccurate. The house manager and maintenance man were prompt in responding and attentive. The owner who was out of the country did text us several times.They did bring us an extra refrigerator.

Amazing rental
The stay at the lodge was more than advertised. The location is great for golf, there isn’t great cell service, but the WiFi was great! The pictures do not do it justice. The basement entertainment area is awesome as well, the projector and sound system worked great. There was plenty of space to congregate and could sleep even more than 20 if needed. I would recommend to anyone looking!

Nice, couple minor things lacking
We had a blast, honestly. Lots of places to sleep, nice amenities, good location (but you won’t have cell service!) high quality internet. The property owner is an amazing communicator and easy to get ahold of. I’d stay there again just because of her. Minor inconveniences: definitely not enough towels for the number of people the home can sleep. We were lucky we brought our own. Not enough trash bags or paper towels, either. It rained and then froze and the plow guy didn’t salt so the whole driveway was TREACHEROUS. We couldn’t get any tv channels, but they had Roku available. The hot tub was only half full and turned off for some reason, but the owner was going to have that corrected, just didn’t happen during our stay which was okay. None of the back decks were clear of snow which was just a bit surprising but didn’t hinder us. The house heats well and the master suite fireplace was super nice. Having no wood for the main fireplace was a bit of a bummer but could have been worse! We also never figured out instructions for the spa shower. Mostly we wanted to try it and see what all it could do. Didn’t really detract from our stay as guests were still able to shower in it, just didn’t have all the jets etc working. Home theater and disco ball in the basement with the wet bar was awesome. Took some work to get the theater working but we had a techy guy with us so we got it working! Location is nice and great access to skiing and other attractions. It’s a beautiful home and great owners. Some things could be made a bit more convenient so big groups can enjoy all aspects of the “luxury” property, but overall it was a good stay and we made a lot of great memories.

Things to think about.
It was my understanding that this was a new property for rent. It did not come with some standard things I would expect at the price point for the rental. Beautiful fireplace but there was no stocked wood. After driving to town and getting wood. We realized there’s nothing in the house to light the fire with. 15 minutes back to town to get a lighter. Very limited number of towels and toilet paper. There was an outdoor grill but all the LP gas tanks were empty. The driveway is not conducive to snowmobilers is a steep driveway very slick if it snows. Again don’t get me wrong we had a wonderful time and it’s a beautiful house. Just a lot of trips to town getting things that should’ve been there for the price point.
