Welcome to Loon Call Lodge, an ideal place for a fun and peaceful “Up North” getaway! Situated on crystal clear Kimble Lake in Ideal Township, this beautiful lake home includes 4 bedrooms PLUS a seasonal bunkhouse just steps from the front door. This family-friendly cabin features an open floorplan with a beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace on the main level. A fully equipped kitchen includes updated appliances, including new double ovens for feeding the whole crew. Large dining table can fit up to 12 with additional leaves and chairs. Just off the family room and kitchen, a large deck offers picturesque views of Kimble Lake where you can enjoy the fresh air and listen to the resident Loons. Enjoy a good book and cup of coffee in the seasonal 3-season sunroom nestled in the trees and surrounded by large windows. Soak in the hot tub under the sheltered deck while taking in the beautiful view of the shore.

Loon Call Lodge interior features a main-level master suite with king bed and full bathroom with double sinks- quiet and perfect for sleeping in. Wet bar with beverage fridge and ½ bathroom make the spacious family room perfect for hanging out. Upstairs is a large bedroom loft with king bed. Two more bedrooms are located downstairs and feature rustic pine beds (one queen and one twin + twin trundle). Additional ¾ bath located downstairs. Cozy entertainment zone in the walkout basement includes gas fireplace, pool table, old-fashioned popcorn maker, and a 55” smart-TV equipped with Amazon Fire-TV and DVD/Blu-Ray. Basement also includes a private office and finished laundry room. The Loon Call Bunk House (open May-September, dates will vary) has space for 5 to play and rest, along with window-AC unit and heater if needed. Extra sleeping space if needed is available with a queen air-topped hide-a-beds in the basement and in main-level family room.

Ideal Township is located in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes area. Drive just 15 minutes to Crosslake, Nisswa, or Pequot Lakes where fantastic shopping, restaurants, breweries, and entertainment await. Nearby you’ll also find Whitefish and Deacon's Lodge Golf Courses, and plenty of biking, hiking, and snowmobile trails. Largemouth bass, northern pike, crappie, and LOTS of sunfish can be caught just fishing off the dock. The lake is DNR walleye stocked. Kimble Lake is connected by channel to Ossawinnamakee Lake if you wish to do more exploring. Swim in the clean clear water or take one of our 2 Kayaks, 2 paddleboards, or our paddleboat out for a ride! (Lake toys will be available seasonally from May-September) Water next to the dock is shallow and great for kids to splash and play- max about 5 ft. depth at end of the dock. We have a 20 ft. sand beach.

Additional comforts include high speed WiFi, board games, adult and children’s books, puzzles, DVDs, and some fun kid's toys. Large fire-pit near the lakeshore with Adirondack chairs and a supply of firewood.

A 20’ pontoon is available to rent separately for a daily fee. Please inquire if interested.

NOTE: Groups > 8 considered only if they consist of a mix of children and adults (families). No Bachelor/Bachelorette parties or other large adult-only "party" groups. Kimble is a peaceful lake and we wish for it to remain that way for our neighbors. Large groups of adults are hard on the house as well, which we use as often as we can with our family. Please inquire with questions before requesting to book if you're not sure our cabin is a good fit for your group. Additional cleaning fee may be required at owner's discretion for larger groups. Guests above rental license permit, or above agreed-upon and contracted occupancy strictly prohibited and will result in loss of security payment.

DISCLOSURE: 3 outdoor security cameras are located on the property- 2 in the front and one in the back of the cabin. Cameras are armed during quiet hours, and do not zoom or invade privacy.

Great place for families

We had a very nice day at the Loon Lodge. The cabin was perfect for our entire family and grandchildren. The beach was nice for the children to play in the water and sandy little beach area. There was a flat area near the lake where we were able to play croquet, beanbags, and the golf ball toss game. The fire pit area was nice for evening fires and making s’mores, we also took advantage of the popcorn wagon in the lower level the grandchildren loved watching it pop. The dock area was perfect also for a smaller fishing boat, which we brought along, and we use the pontoon every day. Kimball Lake is beautiful with lots of shoreline to explore. We enjoyed mostly going for our nightly cruises with our entire family and watching the loons and they’re young. Thanks again for letting us use your lake home.

One of The Best in Crosslake

My wife and I had a relaxing stay at Loon Call Lodge. Layout of the cabin was great as we enjoyed reading & happy hour in the 3-season sunroom and visiting with friends in the basement while playing pool. Kitchen setup and accommodations were excellent. Communication with Erin and Brock was prompt and thorough. We have stayed at a number of cabins in the Crosslake area over the years and this was one of the best.

Relaxing Girls weekend!

We had a group of 7 women, 1 teen the rest adults. We do this trip annually and this was our favorite place we've stayed so far! Ample amout of sleep space and social space. The pool table and hot tub were a huge hit. Although it was a little early in the year to use the lake, they have a cute little sand beach and a nice deck! Erin was easy to reach and talk to if a question arose. And suggested some yummy places to eat! Everyone said they will stay there again. So we will be back!

Great place!

We had a great time here! The house was very well set up for a family! They had many things to do on and off the lake, a beautiful well stocked kitchen, and the space for the kids and adults to play and relax in! We would definitely come back. No issues at all and would highly recommend!

Extremely Cold

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Although it was an extremely cold weekend (only went in hot tub once because it was below zero and windy), we still had a great time playing games, cards, puzzles, enjoyed the pool table, and watching the football playoffs. The cabin had everything we needed - and plenty of room to spread out! My only wish was that there was a TV on the main floor. Whoever was busy in the kitchen could not watch the football game and we had to bring our meals downstairs to watch the games. The pictures on the site were an exact representation of the cabin. I would rent again. Thanks for everything!

Rustic Luxury at its Best

This property is everything it promises to be and more. It feels incredibly cozy and inviting without losing an ounce of class and finery. The stairs don’t creek; the door and drawers open and close with ease and the rooms are virtually soundproof. The views of the lake are incredible, but the home is gorgeous as well. The host was communicative and helpful, and we cannot wait to go back! Thanks for a wonderful space for us to connect and relax.

Beautiful lake home

The lake house is really beautiful and spacious. Plenty of space for our family of 9. Having 3 bathrooms was very nice. The adults and kids alike loved the pool table, fire pit, hot tub, paddle boat and kayaks. It was nice having the large sectional and tv in the basement for movie night. The popcorn maker was a hit! There is a large deck overlooking the lake. The property really is beautiful. There was some nice fall color while we were there (late Sept). We enjoyed renting the pontoon for one day, too. We found a very nice fishing spot and the kids caught tons of fish. It was a great time. Wish we had one more day to take them out again. The kitchen was clean and spacious with nice appliances. Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the home.

Great family getaway!

Beautiful home with lots of lake views. Spacious for our family gathering. We enjoyed the hot tub, pontoon, paddleboards and kayaks. Hosts were quick to respond to questions and had clear instructions. We hope to come back again!

Family Vacation

This was our second year and we had a delightful time - again. The house is well equiped and comfortable for all 11 of us. The pontoon boat is a great bonus. Erin reponds super quickly to the inevitable questions that arise.

Great vacation spot

Kids loved fishing off the dock . Easy to watch them from the many sitting area in the cabin ,on the deck , below the deck and in the yard . Enjoyed the lake for tubing and cruising and hanging at the sandbar . Close proximity to bike trails is also a plus . Loved our stay !!

Cabin with everything!

We love staying at Loon Call Lodge! It has so much for kids and adults to do! We spent lots of time fishing and relaxing in the lake. Beautiful place and wonderful memories made!

Beautiful Loon Call Lodge

Beautiful Home to Rent . Erin and Brock have everything you would want to have at a lake home and MORE. Paddle boards, Kayaks, Paddle boats, hot tub, and a Pontoon to rent on a very easy lift to use. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you will need to cook with. Air fryer, double oven, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, big refrigerator/freezer with another refrigerator by a wet bar for lots of water and drinks. All the utensils, dishes, pots and pans you need. Laundry room with soap. Beautiful TV room downstairs with a lot of variety of movies, games, and a big Pool table. Even a office to work at if you choose. Did not use the Bunk house that sleeps 5-6, but it is adorable. The A/C works great. The landscaping is beautiful around the house and the stairways are rustic and gorgeous. Ella's favorite room is the 4 season porch which is so cozy and inviting. Perfect Way to Start Our Summer

We had been to the property once before and loved the cabin, it's beautiful and the lake it's on is perfect. We decided to try using it for a first time, extended family vacation to kick off summer and we'll keep coming back for sure. Grandpa and Grandma had fun fishing with the grandkids (easy fishing, and caught enough to have fun and piece together enough keepers for some fish bites appetizers). The teens/tweens had fun with the nightly bonfires and the paddleboards, the littles enjoyed continually jumping off the dock and then warming in the hot tub, the guys took a day to go golfing nearby and the parents loved their morning coffee on the deck overlooking the serene lake and the sunset cruises on the pontoon. We had a movie night and pool tournament the day we had to stay in because of air quality and that was fun too. There was something for everyone. It's the perfect setup. Thank you!

Loon Call

We had a wonderful stay. It is a beautiful house with a great view on a nice, quite, small, clean, clear water lake. The grand kids had a blast swimming and playing in the lake. The house and property provide the opportunity and space for many different type of activities. The surrounding small communities also offer many interesting activities and things to do. A great place for a family vacation.

BREATHE TAKING VRBO

Our stay at this location was truly wonderful. The house is so large and plenty of room (we didn't feel crammed at all). One of the best perks is that this house has everything you need just bring your towel for the AMAZING hottub and your personal belongings. Would recommend this house to anyone and everyone!!!! The owners were speedy to respond to our questions and so nice to work with. A breathe of fresh air - when we do this trip yearly and these property managers ROCKED IT!!!! The location is perfect, quiet, low key only down fall there was ice on the lake and snow on the ground - the joys of MN. Hands down - PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!!!! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Wonderful Winter Get away

Loved the cabin for the group of 3 couples! The pool table and outdoor hot tub were definite bonuses. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking pots/pans, dishes and serving plates and bowls. The cabin looked like the pictures (in fact was bigger than it seemed online) and was very clean. My only complaint is that it was not stocked with soap and shampoo in the bathrooms as was advertised in the listing.

Hi- we are the Peterson Family. Welcome to Loon Call Lodge, aka: our DREAM CABIN! As native Minnesotans we have always loved going "up North" to enjoy all that the Brainerd Lakes area has to offer year-round. We purchased this lake home in September 2020 after looking for a place on Kimble Lake for several years. Brock and Erin both work full time, and our kids are involved in many sports year-round, so we can't always be at the cabin as much as we would like. We feel grateful for the opportunity VRBO provides for us to share our cabin with others when we can't be there. We are certain you will fall in love with Kimble Lake!
