Mountain Moose...An alpine getaway…and only a short drive from downtown Fairbanks!

*Use of SHARED outdoor hot tub (4 person limit) through a short trail to main house,nwithin usage guidelines listed in guest handbook. Guidelines must be adhered to in order to avoid additional cleaning fees.
* four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive is needed during the winter months (September -April)
*Must be 25+ to make a reservation.

Cozy yurt with spectacular views

Our goal was to find a place away from the city lights, where we could do a bit of aurora-chasing. The yurt was a perfect spot! We were able to see the Northern Lights on three occasions, and still had easy access to all of the amenities in Fairbanks. Beds were comfortable, and we slept well due to the quiet environment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom seemed to have endless hot water, which was nice after being outside in temps as low as -34 F. The sunrise views from the front deck were amazing, too!

The perfect winter escape

The yurt was incredibly cozy, even in -20F! Colleen has a binder full of food and activity recommendations in the area. She also has snowshoes you can borrow to check out trails in the area. We loved watching the sun rise over the Alaska range from the deck and even saw the Northern lights right from the driveway!

Wonderful Place to Stay

Staying at the yurt was a magical experience!! It was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you could need for your stay. We were able to see the aurora 3 nights right over the yurt from the deck due to it's wonderful location and great advice from the owner. Check in was easy and communication with the owner before,during and after our stay was very pleasant and easy as she is a wonderful host. Even though it is on a mountain it is within a short drive to a lot of popular activities around Fairbanks. We highly recommend the yurt for your vacation!! Thank you Colleen for making our Alaska bucket list vacation perfect !!

Aurora views

Wonderful place to stay away from the city. A bit of a drive up the mountain but great views. Coleen was wonderful and alerted us when the aurora was visible. I would definitely stay again!

Living that Yurt Life

Comfortable cabin with a fabulous view! The yurt was cute and cozy and well stocked with games, books and movies. Colleen was so nice and very helpful. We would stay again if we make it back up here!!

We loved staying at the yurt. It was very comfortable and cozy. The view from the yurt was really nice. One morning we could see snow peaked mountains in the distance. Would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful escape

The yurt was so welcoming. There was a wide selection of movies and games. WiFi worked well for my family and were all able to be on our devices and stream a movie on the TV. Loved sitting on the deck in the mornings. We were able to make home cooked meals for our army boy and just relax together. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

Alaskan retreat

A truly Alaskan experience. Rustic but with all the amenities. Great location outside of town that makes for a beautiful drive, but close enough so you don’t feel isolated. Great host and communication.

Absolutely Perfect!!

We could not be happier with our stay here! Even though the Northern Lights eluded us, the yurt made up for it! Soaking in the jacuzzi at the main house with the snow all around you was so much fun! Clean, well stocked, warm, excellent ideas and easy communication with the owner…. You couldn’t ask for more. If I ever make it back to Alaska I would definitely want to stay here again.

Great spot!

My mom and I loved staying in this yurt! It was much bigger than we expected, and had every comfort of home that we could have asked for. It was a very comfortable stay with a gorgeous view above Fairbanks. We had bad weather luck for the northern lights but enjoyed getting several inches of snow.

Home away from home

This is our second time staying here. It’s large and comfy and has everything you need. The washer and dryer are so nice to have! The location is perfect. Close enough to town and far enough out to see the northern lights from the porch. Love this place!

Great place to stay...highly recommend

This yurt was a highlight of our stay in Fairbanks. Its truly a unique property in its location and design. My 17 yr old daughter loved staying in the upstairs loft with an open view to the night sky and we had daily visits from a mom & baby moose that we were able to watch from the front porch. Highly recommend.

Colleen and the yurt were Amazing!! We loved every minute of our stay. The yurt was clean and well stocked. We absolutely loved our time on the deck. Although it was early for the auroras, Colleen kept us well informed on the forecast. Thank you for an amazing time and I truly hope to be back.

Unique and comfortable stay

The yurt was just the right distance to feel like you were out of town but easy to get to Fairbanks and all the surrounding things to do. Stayed for just a few days visiting my son who is stationed at FT. Wainwright, could have stayed for a few week! The view from the porch was great any time of the day. We were there in the summer and I hope to return sometime to stay and experience the northern lights.

Super comfortable and unique experience

The yurt was super comfortable for our family of three. It is thoughtfully designed and has everything you might need for your trip. Very clean and quiet with great views. Aurora viewing was great right from the porch and driveway, and Colleen had helpful tips for viewing. She also was easy to communicate with throughout the stay. We would highly recommend the yurt and hope to return!
