Welcome to Wanderlust! Bald Head Island is a one-of-a-kind escape to a truly magical place. Bald Head has 10 miles of secluded beaches and laid-back golf-cart-only transportation. This professionally landscaped home has a reverse floor plan with all bedrooms on the first floor that allow you to sleep in or take an afternoon nap; while the open floor plan on the 2nd floor includes kitchen, living and dining, that spills out to decks on 3 sides of the home. This plan also takes advantage of views from all angles with the 5 porches positioned around the home. Wanderlust is located on a quiet cul-de-sac great for kids who want to practice their biking and skateboarding skills! It's perfectly situated between the harbor, Old Baldy Lighthouse and BHI Club with easy bike or golf cart ride to several beach accesses. A great fit for families, golfers, outdoor activists and anyone who loves relaxing at the beach!

Amazing BHI getaway!

This is our favorite place yet! We were two families with kids 11 years old and younger and it was a perfect setup. Having the bedrooms on the lower floor was such a great layout. The house was beautiful and clean and well-appointed. Some of us are sensitive to dust and such but we were all comfortable since the house was so well taken care of. We would definitely want to stay here again, no hesitation.

Great house!

We had an amazing weekend on Bald Head Island. This home was in a perfect location convenient to the market and the marina. Everyone that stayed in the house had a wonderful time and we all enjoyed the layout. The kitchen was well stocked and there wasn’t anything that we wished it had.

Great vacation spot

We’ve visited BHI for almost 20 years and this was our first stay on this end of the island. It was very close to BHIC and the marina as well. The home is well equipped. The new beach chairs and available towels are so nice when you’re hauling so much stuff to the island. The home is as pictured (note, only a tub in the 3rd bath). Though not exactly “new” as described in the title, it is nice enough, and by our midJuly stay, it was definitely “lived in clean” as many weeks of summer had passed with quick turns allowing only for surface level cleaning. If you’re looking for a culdesac home close to the marina and club that is comfortable and well-suited for family, it’s a great spot.

A perfect vacation getaway for adults and kids alike

House was an amazing respite, exceeded expectations on almost every level! Immaculately clean, well appointed, great communication. Kristen was thoughtful and quick to respond at every step of the trip from planning to arrival to checkout. I’d been wanting to visit and stay at Bald Head for years but coming from the west coast, was looking for a partial week stay. Kristen was flexible and made it happen and I will be forever grateful! Even the person who was not a “beach person” fell in love with BHI. We loved driving around on the golf carts and exploring the pristine beaches. The house was a relaxing escape from the heat of summer. Our 4yo immediately immersed herself in the play room and entertained herself for longer than expected, allowing the adults time to relax and prep food, etc. Kitchen was well equipped and rooms were perfect. One of the best vacation rentals I’ve ever stayed at!

Perfect House!

This was a perfect house for us this year! Only one daughter and family could come this time (other one just had my two week old grandson) and size and location was fantastic! Convenient, nice cul-de-sac where my 8 and 5 year old granddaughters could ride bikes and my 18 month old grandson even cruised on his scooter up and down the street. Our 8 year old had a surprise acquaintance and siblings staying across the street and they played soccer out most evenings! Another great addition was the “kids living room” well stocked with games, books and puzzles! Perfect! Also nice to be able to have guest memberships to both clubs! House was clean and neat, well stocked, and all in working order. We really took advantage of all BHI has to offer this year! Thanks, Kristan, for use of your beautiful home!

It was a wonderful stay!

The property and location were perfect. We were there for work and it was wonderful to have a retreat to come back to at the end of each day. The property was well stocked, very clean and homeowners were very communicative! I would absolutely rent it again!

Weekend getaway

The property was very clean , owner was very communicative. The house met our needs perfectly. One thing just to be aware of is one of the bathrooms has a handheld shower/tub (not a deal breaker by any means). Very convenient to have two golf carts , 4 bikes and the location is convenient, but its Bald Head and long golf cart ride is a win !!

Great house. Great location.

Needed a place for 5 or 6 of my son's groomsmen to stay, and also be a central gathering spot. Fit the bill perfectly as it was close to the house we were staying in and close to the marina and the BHI Club. This house worked out great.

We have stayed at this house now for several years. The layout is perfect for our family and friends. The kids love the bunk room and “kids lounge” off the main living area. The house is in a cul-da-sac which makes it quiet and cozy.

Our favorite BHI rental

Our family has been vacationing at BHI every year for a long time, but this is our second time at this well-designed, clean, bright home. It is ideal for a family vacation, with enough room to spread out, good shared space, an updated and working kitchen, and plenty of patios. The carts are well-maintained with plenty of power, and as always, the island itself is a respite from the world. The owners are immediately responsive and absolutely committed to helping their guests have a great experience. Highest recommendation.

Comfortable and convenient!

This property was well maintained, comfortable, and located near the ferry terminal which made for very easy logistics moving family and friends around during a wedding weekend. Golf carts are also in good shape! Check in and communication with the host was effortless and clear.

Great House for 2 families with children!

We had a wonderful time at Wanderlust over our Spring Break. The house is equipped with everything a family with children would need. The best part was the little playroom off of the dining room. It was GREAT for the kids. The property managers are great communicators and everything was just perfect! Would definitely stay here again!

We are beach people but equally love the nature, wildlife and peace that Bald Head has to offer. It is a beautiful escape all-year round.
