Casa W Olhão is a concept of 3 eco-friendly fishermen's houses.
They are located right in the centre of the old town of Olhão.
JANEIRO is the Fisherman's Tower. It is located in the heart of the pedestrian streets of Barreta, the old town of Olhão. A bedroom with a 160x200cm bed, a bathroom and several terraces with exceptional views of the cubist city and the Ria Fomosa. The viewpoint of the Fisherman's Tower overlooks the sea and the island of Culatra. The house has all modern comforts and an independent office for teleworking.
The historic old town of Olhão still has its fishermen who walk here and there in the pedestrian streets, a bucket in hand with the remains of a catch, talking loudly and giving their neighborhood this unique atmosphere. The fisherman's tower is made up of several levels because the fishermen needed to climb to the highest point to see the state of the sea each day, before taking out their fishing boats.
This house is 200 meters from the port. This fisherman's tower is distributed as follows:
on the ground floor, an entrance hall, a bedroom, a shower room and a dressing room.
On the first floor, the living room with a fully equipped kitchen with large glass doors opening onto a pretty balcony sheltered by a pergola.
On the second floor, a terrace furnished with different spaces to have your meals or relax. An office allows you to work with a direct view of the city and the Ria Formosa.
Finally, you can access the viewpoint of the fisherman's tower to enjoy the view of the sea and have your meals or a drink there.
It has been renovated while retaining all its original features, such as its distinctive front door, its vaulted ceilings in traditional bricks and its Santa Catarina terracotta floor typical of the Algarve region. The chimney of the Olhão roofs and the multi-level terraces.
We want to work to preserve the nature of our city and the Ria Formosa while maintaining optimal comfort for our guests. In order to reduce the impact of tourism on the Ria Formosa, a UNESCO heritage site, Casa W Olhão houses adopt an eco-friendly operation. This one is considered to be ecological products, sorting bins, household linen from an old Portuguese spinning mill, a layout with upcycling furniture, recycled toilet paper and paper towels, LED lighting, etc.
During the day, take the ferry to the beaches of the islands opposite the city, and on the way back, stroll along the seafront, sit on one of the many terraces to cool off. The bars and restaurants are open all year round. We will send you our best addresses.
To make your stay as pleasant as possible, we have provided everything you need: TV with cable channels, WIFI available on all floors and even on the terraces. In the shower room: towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper and hairdryer. Amenities in the rooms: sheets, pillows, duvet, hangers, wardrobes, safe. For the beach, a basket with beach towels, an isothermal backpack, ice packs in the freezer, a parasol and a set of rackets. On the terraces with pergolas, blinds to protect you from the sun, deckchairs, a comfortable lounge. In the kitchen, toaster, microwave, kettle, juicer, espresso machine, hand soap and dishwashing detergent. Washing machine and washing capsules. Reversible air conditioning in the living room and bedroom. Iron and ironing board. Smoke detectors. Fire extinguisher and first aid kit.

Casa W Olhão JANEIRO is within walking distance of the famous covered fish and fruit and vegetable markets, small restaurants and cafes, but still quiet in the small traditional cobbled and pedestrian streets of the town. Ferries to the islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol are also within walking distance. Parking is free on the streets near the house. The house is located in the heart of the old town (Barreta), you can do everything on foot! The train station is 10 minutes away, allowing you to travel to other cities in the Algarve and to the Spanish border. Faro airport is only 13 km away. A car is not necessarily necessary. You can also rent bikes on site to use the Eco-Via which allows you to travel along the entire Algarve coast.

The tourist tax applied by the city of Olhão since 19/06/2023 will be requested upon arrival in cash (10€/person/stay from April 1 to October 31 or 5€/person/stay from November 1 to March 31)
