Welcome to the Better Together Lodge, our spacious and family-friendly cabin in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. With 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and three stories of over 3,400 sq. feet of living space, our cabin is the perfect home base for your next family vacation or group getaway.

Explore popular attractions like Bryson City, the Smoky Mountain Railroad, Fontana Lake, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Tsali Hiking Trails, Tail of the Dragon, the National Park, and the Casino.

After your adventures, enjoy our spacious 5-bedroom, 3-bath cabin with a game room, 2 massive porches, and a fenced-in backyard with a hammock and stone fire pit.

Upstairs, you'll find two cozy bedrooms and a peaceful reading area, complete with high-speed Verizon internet for catching up on work or streaming your favorite shows. One of the upstairs bedrooms features a queen bed along with a twin pull-out chair. The other bedroom has a full bed with a twin bunk and a twin trundle, making the upstairs the perfect place for kids of all ages.

On the main floor, you'll discover another comfortable bedroom featuring a queen bed and a full bath. The main floor has an open living room and dining area with soaring ceilings and a cozy wood fireplace. Our large, fully stocked kitchen is perfect for hosting big family meals, with pots, pans, and place settings for everyone. A highchair and pack-n-play are available for families with little ones.

Gather around the spacious dining table for lively conversation, or head out to the covered back porch for a cookout on the gas grill with complimentary propane. Two picnic tables and a number of comfortable outdoor chairs provide ample seating for outdoor dining, and you can watch the sunset with mountain views from our many rocking chairs on the front porch.

Just off the kitchen is our convenient laundry room with both washer and dryer. Our 5-person covered hot tub is accessible from both this room as well as the back porch and is the perfect way to help you relax after a long day on the trails.

Downstairs, there are two more bedrooms with queen beds along with a full bath. There's also a sleeper sofa for those who wish to spread out.

The finished basement also features a fully loaded game room. Enjoy hours of entertainment with our pool table, air hockey, 4-player arcade machine, foosball, TV with Roku, and DVDs. Our game closet is stocked with puzzles, board games, and a wooden train set, providing lots of options for families of all ages to enjoy.

Escape to our fenced-in backyard, the perfect place to unwind and spend time with one another after a day of adventure in the mountains. Accessible from the downstairs level, our tranquil yard is a rare find in this area. It provides a safe and easy way for your family to enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of space for games, relaxation, and fun. A super peaceful hammock is the perfect place for an afternoon nap or to relax with a cold beer from one of the many local breweries at the covered outdoor bar. Gather around the stone fire pit for s'mores and stories, or you can even grill over the open flames using the optional cooking grate. This backyard also features a picnic table and decorative lighting, making it the perfect place to hang out outside. When nighttime rolls around, turn off the lights and check out the stars!

Just a short drive from Bryson City and Cherokee, our cabin provides quick access to Highways 28 and 74, as well as popular attractions like Fontana Lake, Tsali mountain biking and hiking trails, Fire Mountain mountain biking, the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, and the Nantahala Outdoor Center for white water rafting and zip lining.

Explore the stunning scenery of the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway, both easily accessible from our central location. The Tsali Recreation Area is nearby, offering world-class mountain biking and hiking around Fontana Lake, with multiple Appalachian Trail access points just minutes away.

Our well-maintained gravel mountain road is safe and accessible year-round without the need for a 4x4 vehicle, and electric vehicle owners can recharge with ease using our level 2 NEMA 14-50 plug or J1772 cord. With parking for 4 vehicles, our cabin is a great option for gathering together with family or friends.

Most Memorable Weekend

We came up to go to my college graduation from WCU. Friday was my 49th birthday, graduation on Saturday then ended on Mother’s Day Sunday! There four generations there for the weekend and everyone had the most amazing time. My four year old grandson was never bored, between the jacuzzi, air hockey, arcade game, Lincoln logs and fire pit…he was able to find something fun to do from sun up to sun down! My mother-in-law, husband and 2 sons played a very competitive game of pool while the rest of us chilled out on the couches. The many chairs on the beautiful porches gave us many options of quiet places to sit and laugh and make more memories . We enjoyed our traditional low-country-boil out on the spacious picnic tables. The convenient check-in and check-out process made this trip even more stress free! I cannot think of one thing that the amazing host,Alex, could have done to have made it a better place to stay! I highly recommend this place and we are definitely looking at coming back!

Good location close to Bryson City but up on a nearby mountain. House was great, everything was as advertised and kitchen utensils are very well stocked, along with a pretty much brand new Weber grill. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for.

Magical

At first the road concerned us (a little narrow and rustic for .5 miles), but the destination is Hallmark movie worthy. The feeling is isolated, but there are neighbors. Plenty of space for multiple families. Refrigerator is huge for all of the food we brought. We didn't have to run into town for any basics. As the grandparents, my husband and I were grateful for the bedroom and on-suite on the main level.

A Perfect Thanksgiving

Better Together Indeed!

From the moment we booked until the moment we left everything was perfect! We have three grown children and arranging family vacations is hard with everyone's busy schedules, careers, spouses, etc. But this mommas heart isn't ready to give up these precious moments. This house was perfect to accommodate everyone with their own bedroom, and provided plenty of bathroom space. The owners have thought of everything to make this home away from home experience warm and welcoming. An abundance of activities for us to spend time together instead of in front of a TV or tablet/phone. We cooked out, had smores over the open fire under the stars, played pool, airhockey, arcade games, and cards while listening to music and talking for hours. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the mornings sipping coffee. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We did not take advatange of the hot tub, but it was clean and would have been perfect for a dip. The pond in the community was great for and evening stroll, fishing or swimming. Our boys brought their mountain bikes and were just a few minutes away from the awesome Tsali trails. They had a blast and I believe that was the highlight of their trip. I booked a guided fly fishing trip for the 6 of us with Fontana Guides had a great time wet wading in the river casting flies and trying to land a few trout. I believe our daughter is hooked and will be back again again to fly fish. Check-in/checkout was a breeze! We will definitely be back

Another great whitewater rafting and hiking family vacation!

Cabin was large and clean with useful layout for guests. Three floors each w/ bed/bath combo. Easy enough access winding gravel road entry through cute neighborhood (a little slippery in rain but nothing our mini van could not handle). You will hear and drive by neighbors but not see them through the trees and position of the cabin. Walking in the evening down to the pond is a favorite. Pluses - hot tub and back deck off dining and kitchen on the second level is great hang area, firepit and back yard on basement level is perfect spot for making smores. Pretty wooded mntn spot. Cabin feel. Internet works great. Owner communicates. Minuses - beds are hard stiff boards, basement is cold while main level is hot, kitchen pans are rental-cheap with warped bottoms, scratched non-stick, aluminum, no storage containers. No long-range mntn view. Careful with your noise level outside because neighborhood, security light and camera out back that will pop on when you grab your firewood. Six TV remotes but no Vizio that matched or clear directions. Good location for some of our favorite spots - 5 minutes E. to paddling/swimming at Finger Lake day use, 20 minutes NE into Bryson City shopping/eating, 30 minutes N. to hiking falls and tubing down Deep Creek, 25 minutes S. to the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) eating/shopping and rafting the Nantahala, 38 minutes E. to Sylva shopping/eating and rafting the Tuckasegee, 40 minutes to swimming/hiking at Cheoah Beach Point at Lake Santeetla.

A city girls first trip to the mountains

Our rental at the cabin was wonderful! Alex and Tammy were so helpful and accommodating, and the cabin was simply beautiful. Our original group consisted of 5 but ended up being only 3, so we had more than enough space, but we would have still been very comfortable with the original 5. I will say that with 3 of us the water level in the hot tub was high so if it had been more of us I’m sure water would have spilled over the sides. There is only one tv so I brought along my own and we used it in the living room. It was very simple to connect to the wifi. Maybe adding one on the main level would be a good idea. One of the massage chairs didn't seem to work but we really didn't spend that much time in the loft area, so it wasn't an issue for us There is a thermostat that controls upstairs only and one that controls both the main level and downstairs so keep that in mind when choosing your room/floor. I love the fact that there were black wash cloths especially marked for makeup as I usually bring my own so not to stain ones from a hotel/rental property, but I had forgotten mine on this trip. The ironing board has a little damaged spot, I'm not sure how to describe it, but I placed a wash cloth under the ironing board cover so that my clothes wouldn’t snag and it was fine... I'm just now remembering that I forgot to remove the cloth, lol. There is a very helpful manual in the cabin with instruction for everything and restaurant recommendations. A perfect trip to the mountains!

Great family weekend

This is the first time my siblings and our families have traveled and spent the weekend together. We had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room in the cabin to spread out for each family and we spent each night together in the game room playing pool and air hockey. I will never forget the dinners and conversations on the back deck. I definitely recommend this house. It was quiet and clean and was just a great time for all of us. The cabin is in a great area for hiking trails, tubing, shopping and some good places to eat, too!

Beautiful property in gorgeous setting

We had such a great family reunion in this beautiful location. The home is set back in a private location. We had 5 teens with us that visited the swimming hole every evening. Not far from the lake we went kayaking and tubing several times. Alex is a fantastic host. He was very communicative and always attentive. The home is well stocked, comfortable and well maintained. We loved our nights out by the fire pit and the deck is amazing up in the trees. We would definitely book this awesome place again. Thank you!!

Everything you want for a perfect mountain get away.

The “Better Together” cabin is a really nice and peaceful place that your entire group can enjoy! We had 7 adults and 5 children in our group and the cabin had plenty of space to accommodate us without ever feeling cramped. The property was clean and comfortable and came equipped with all that we needed. You can tell that the owners care for this home and made sure it shows in the small details. For example, I was pleasantly surprised that they had a milk frother, that I had forgotten to bring from home, which made my coffee experience top notch. We enjoyed family time by the fire place, roasting s’mores at the outside fire pit, and lots of games in the downstairs game room/ living room. The hot tub was perfect to soak our achy muscles from the lovely scenic walks we took. Alex, the owner checked in on us via VRBO message. Overall, everything was great, from the keyless check in to all the family friendly amenities. Definitely recommend staying here!

Perfect family getaway

This house is perfect for large families. There is plenty of room in the house. The large back deck is perfect for relaxing and eating meals outside. The game room is perfect for family time. Relaxing and fun retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Better Together lodge. It had so many things we love including the large deck, hot tub, games in the lower level. I'm a husband and a father who works in the technology sector. We live in Florida but are in the Carolinas as often as we can!

Why they chose this property

Owning a cabin was a 'life goal', and we really wanted something in a rural area that was still close to major attractions with plenty to do. We're an active group who enjoys hiking and being on the water. My wife and I had traveled to the region many times through the years, and when our kids were finally old enough we decided it was time to make it happen -- The Smoky Mountains are perfect for us!

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this cabin instantly. It's got enough bedrooms and space for our family and friends, a wonderful family living area where we can relax by the fire or have big family dinners. The back porch has a peaceful, relaxing view. It's got an *awesome* game room and has the proximity to all the activities we could wish for.

But the big thing for us was the neighborhood itself. It's such a cool community tucked in off the highway. There's a shared valley area and a spring fed lake that's perfect for swimming in the summer, and it's 5 minutes from two great marinas on Fontana Lake. It's hard to find property that has everything, but we really feel like we did!
