overall excellent property. good value. but some communication lags with the manager. garbage disposal was broken. but great location and high qualityproperty
The place was nice and in a great location. Lots of room for activities (LOL) Parking was great. Would stay again. Just some minor issues with appliances not working but otherwise it was perfect stay for my son's graduation. Thank you.
I stayed here with a group of friends to enjoy an FSU gameday weekend and it was perfect! So many places to sleep and we had such a great time hanging out in the space 😁
Large living & kitchen areas. Large, comfy, newer sofas. Loved them! The location is great for restaurants and walking. Only a few minutes drive from downtown and FSU campus. The restaurant across the street gets pretty loud at night, so bring earplugs.
The home is in need of a good deep clean. (3 stars) The bathroom sink, counters and kitchen sink and counters were all clean. There was a layer of soap scum on the shower wall upstairs and mold on the drain and in shower corners. Noticeable dust, dirt and cobwebs in some areas of the home.
As other reviews stated there is a funky smell when you first walk in. I think it’s from being closed up and just musty. Once inside it wasn’t noticeable.
The A/C units all worked great. Each room had its own unit so the bedroom can be the temp you want. The upstairs had glass doors and did not get hot. Loved that!!
The outdoor spaces (4 stars) and exterior of home are in need of maintenance. These spaces can be hard to keep clean when there are lots of trees, but the trees are beautiful! The property manager had swept the decks before our arrival. It was a mix- some furniture was quite dirty, missing cushions or in disrepair while other furniture appeared to be fairly new and was clean and wiped off. We like being outside so cleaned what we wanted to sit on.
The property manager was available when we had questions and we informed her of the things we noticed in hopes of improvement for future guests. Overall a good stay!
Great time. Great location close to everything. Beds very comfortable.
We had a wonderful time the family had a great time very comfortable very spacious. The only hiccup we had was my mom came over and it's on a second floor and she had trouble with the stairs. But if you have no issues climbing stairs it's a wonderful place. And would definitely rent again. Danielle was wonderful very accommodating. It's close to bars and restaurants and a wonderful location.
The Roost is a great place for family gathering. It was perfect for the whole family, from being able to meditate out on the deck in the morning, to family gathering in the large living room. Will definitely rent again for next graduation.

Amazing property, close to restaurants, shops, bars all within walking distance. Great part of town we've never stayed before, the house was super roomy and had 2 large balconies for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. In town for an FSU football game, easy drive to Doak and will definitely rent this place again in the future.
Besides a small hiccup with getting the key entry code, our week long stay was excellent. Comfortable for hanging out. Great location with so many points of interest within walking distance.
We rented for our daughters graduation and were very busy all weekend. The rental was easy to get to by car fr FSU and we truly enjoyed having a lot of space. Mornings were spent on the spacious deck. Beds were comfy and overall the rental is very well equipped, uncluttered and nice. Thank again!
Communication from the time of booking through our stay was great.
We rented The Roost to spend Easter with our son, a student at FSU, along with his roommate and family.
After our arrival, I did reach out to management regarding a few items, which I am sure she will handle so the next guests do not have the same issues; therefore, I don’t think I need to mention them here.
The description mentions 3 patios on property. They do have three nice patios; but, they have not been maintained for usage. We swept up lots of leaves, limbs, and pollen upon our arrival on the large deck. We never did use the patios (although the weather would have been perfect) because it needs to be washed down from the pollen, limbs, and leaves. The firepit is located on the larger patio.
Parking is two carports, not garages as mentioned. No big deal; but, I thought I would note it.
Previous reviews mention the smell of marijuana. We only smelled marijuana when we opened the dishwasher….odd, I know. It wasn’t an overwhelming smell in The Roost.
As for dining out, you can park your car at The Roost and walk to many options. Publix, the grocery store, is close by (driving distance). And, of course, FSU is nearby.
As stated above, our purpose was to spend quality time with our son, his roommate and the roommate’s family; and, we were able to achieve that at The Roost!
Danielle, prop mgnr, was great. Was available when questions came about and peesented in person to help with the ac(not broken, just a updated type of system we are not use to).
Location was great. House was cozy and comfortable for all including our 4legged kids.
We will be reserving in future visits.
Believe the other reviews, the property does smell like marijuana. I suspect the tenant below on the first floor is heavily using and it’s causing it to smell like marijuana on the second and third floor. Property was on average, clean however, there are a lot of repair needs and the property has been poorly maintained. One of the sinks was turned off because the stopper was stuck in the down position. Three lamps and one bedroom had no lightbulb. Most of the furniture on the patios were in disrepair or needed replacement cushions because the cushions were missing or mildewy. Overall, it was adequate for our stay but could’ve been a lot nicer if they just did some maintenance
My wife, daughter, and I stayed at this property for a couple nights during the quiet, restful time between Christmas and New Years. We came to Tallahassee to visit family who live in a nearby assisted living facility.
We found the property wholly acceptable for our needs. We needed a place where we could stretch out a bit and relax after our visits. We needed a place where we could prepare simple breakfasts before heading out for the day. The place accommodated us well. Everything seemed to be clean and in good working condition.
Further, the place is centrally located in town—convenient to everywhere. We were able to walk to a number of restaurants for dinner and eat outside on their patios. The bar called The Brass Tap is located across the street. They offer outdoor seating for anyone who wants to enjoy a locally brewed beer.
As previous review stated there is a strong marijuana smell. Not as bad if you can open doors and windows and it’s cool outside. Also. Patio furniture cushions were unusable. A little disappointed as we had a cookout on deck for graduation. Owner did mention they purchased new cushions. That will be good for next guest. Finally even though we had her cell, it would have been helpful to have a set of information and instructions on the property. That way we would not be bothering owner with simple questions. Location was awesome and the unit is great for FSU events.

Nice place, spacious and clean inside overall. There was a smell that appeared to smell like marijuana but told it wasn’t and that this smell is always there but they didn’t know exactly what it was? It was a strong smell to the point where my cousin couldn’t sleep in the bedroom. Outdoor furniture was very dirty and we didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the cushions. They aren’t covered so dirt, tree debris, stains, etc all over them. Location is close to everything but at night you can hear passing cars and music and talking from the bay across the street. Very thin walls.
This is a cute place to stay for a visit in Tallahassee. The house is very spacious with lots of outdoor space. I will definitely book this place again. Owner is very accessible via email. Check in was quick and easy.
The property was perfect for our FSU football weekend. There were 5 of us and the Roost provided ample room for all. We especially enjoyed the outdoor deck, which we used extensively. The location was good with plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance, including the Brass Tap, which is directly across the street and is open late for late night food and/or drink options.
Danielle was quick to respond to questions and provided excellent communication throughout our stay. Overall I would definitely recommend the Roost.
