This charming bungalow is steps away from the beach access at the Ocean Grill Tiki. You can hear the ocean from the screened in porch out back or out front on a huge deck with picnic table. One block from the ocean, this house has been completely renovated yet still has the cottage nostalgia when it was a barracks. There is plenty of outdoor living space as well as a yard perfect for corn hole, grilling out or enjoying your family and friends in the privacy of the back yard (fence). Fully remodeled in 2020 (new floors, new decks, bathroom and kitchen with a screened in porch addition), this house is perfect for up to six people. There is enough room in the driveway to bring your boat or park three cars.

The home was cute and charming. I loved the porch sitting areas both front and back. It was really nice to cook breakfast and sit on the back porch to enjoy breakfast. Location to the beach was perfect and the provided chairs and cart were a blessing.

Perfect cottage - a block from the beach!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location is IDEAL - one easy block to the beach. The house is just as advertised and worked perfectly for our family (2 adults & 2 teens). When we walked in and saw ceiling fans in all the rooms I knew we found a winner. The enclosed back deck is perfect for your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Nice flat fenced in yard offers great privacy from neighbors. We would totally book this one again!!

The property is perfect. Totally fenced in, off the main road. Screened in porch and a huge front deck. Walk across the street to the beach access. Tons of restaurants/dessert places in walking distance. Next door neighbors are super nice. Property owners are very nice, and responsive. My only qualm was that the room with the queen bed has no dresser (there isnt enough room), so my husband and I had to store our clothing in the dresser in one of our kid's rooms. Not a big deal though to us, personally, just something to note! We loved our stay here. It was perfect and I highly recommend this property.

Great Location

The Pistachio was a lovely cottage in a fabulous location, close to the beach and in a very nice neighborhood. We loved the stay, the cleanliness, the responsiveness of the landlords, and the feel of the cottage. We would definitely recommend the Pistachio to anybody looking for a place near the beach that is family friendly with responsive property managers. All of us loved it.

Charming Bungalow!

We were looking for a smaller home with three bedrooms so each of us could have our own place to sleep, with a small kitchen well stocked and a family room to relax in. All of this within walking distance to the beach. This was all we could have hoped for. We walked everywhere and enjoy the sunrise on the beach every morning. The yard is fenced for privacy and for children to play. The back deck with the enclosed screened porch was delightful to sit and enjoy the sounds of the beach. Clean, comfortable, close to beach. We will stay again!

Quick quiet getaway!

The Pistachio Bungalow allowed for a great weekend visit to Carolina Beach. The house was clean, centrally located, and absolutley adorable.

Top 5 Family Vacation

Loved our time at the Pistachio Bungalow. Our Carolina Beach vacation will definitely go down as a top 5 for our family. My teenager loved the screened in back porch and our 5 year old loved every room in the house. This place had everything you would want for a blast at the beach. Definitely coming back!

Had an amazing time. Loved the house and the porches were great especially the screened in back porch at night. It was a short walk to the beach which was not crowded and the tiki bar that had great food. We are going to plan another trip next year and can’t wait to get back.

Great Getaway for Spring Break

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The screened in back porch and fenced backyard were just wonderful for a family with young children! They also offered puzzles and books in the laundry room for use on a rainy day. The owners were very responsive to all our questions and needs. Wonderful vacation spot 🙂

What an absolute pleasant surprise!!!🥰

We could not have asked for more. This home is so comfy, and super super super close to the beach. The enclosed porch was the best for family breakfast and the open patio out back made for a memorable night for a barbecue. I am so thankful this home is kids friendly. Pistachio, we will back soon but for now continue to be the perfect home away from home.

Absolutely delightful!

Staying at the Pistachio Bungalow was delightful! The house was in a nice neighborhood. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The hosts were responsive and gave great directions. The beds were very comfortable. It was a quick walk to the beach. The house had everything you need for the beach. We absolutely loved it. We will definitely stay again!!!

Cute, clean, close to the beach

The house was clean, comfortable, and a short, easy walk to the beach-just what we were looking for! Having the house beach towels, beach chairs, and cart was super convenient. As others have said-check the laundry room, screen porch, and shed upon arrival so you don’t miss out on amenities. For example, some of our clean towels were in a bag on the screen porch when we arrived. This house is on my “come back to” list!

A perfect classic beach

My husband and I had a vacation planned with our twin 13 year old boys in early July that we had to unexpectedly cancel due to a visit from the dreaded Covid fairy. By early August we were all recovered, stir crazy, and needing a change of scenery and a new adventure. Some friends recommended that we check out Carolina Beach... we had never been to the Wilmington area or Carolina Beach before, and it looked like exactly what we were after. The Pistachio could not have been more perfect! The bungalow is adorably outfitted and the beds and couch are super comfy. We made great use of the kitchen and the grill, and we ate under the stars most evenings on the back deck. Our one rainy afternoon was spent playing Uno and working a puzzle in the screened-in porch, where we also enjoyed a movie every evening! In addition to the fantastic accommodations, we couldn't have been happier with the location. The Pistachio is only a block from the beach so we got plenty of time in the sand, and only a block from the ice cream shop so we got more of that than we probably should have ;) Plus just a short walk down the beach are the boardwalk and amusement park (we missed the filming of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 there by ONE DAY!) Last but not least, I can't speak highly enough of our hosts Allison and Bill. Extremely responsive and helpful, and were able to suggest lots of great things for us to check out in the area, including the Tony Silvagni Surf School, where one of our sons enjoyed a surf lesson. It turned out to be a banner vacation, and the only part we didn't like was having to leave. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Pistachio with us, Allison and Bill!

We fell in love with CB back in 2015. We were actually visiting the Wilmington area because our daughter was competing in a triathlon. The charm and the vibe of Carolina Beach, of Pleasure Island, was undeniable. We kept talking about the possibility of buying, and then we did. We love it here and know our guests will too!

Why they chose this property

This property wasn’t even on our radar. We were actually looking for a lot. But Allison is always checking out the local listings and then this property popped up. When we first saw it, we loved the lot, but the poor house. We learned that it was actually a military barrack that had been relocated from Fort Fisher to its current location on Bowfin Ln. At that point, we embraced this little house’s history and decided to renovate. The final result is now called Pistachio Bungalow. Pistachio for the obnoxiously bright green that the house was once painted, and Bungalow because of it’s relaxing vibe and it’s size. It has everything you could want though. And the backyard and screened in porch are the perfect spot to unwind and relax after a long day on the beach. Literally a 3 minute walk to the ocean as well as to the infamous “Tike Bar”.

It’s location, hands down. Pistachio Bungalow is situated on Bowfin Lane, just off the very popular Tennessee Avenue and it’s traffic controlled crosswalk that leads directly to the beach access.
