Cabin was perfect for our weekend family trip. The property was peaceful and picturesque and the cabin was cozy and inviting. Our kids loved the loft bunkbed room and going down to the field to watch the horses.
Great property. My kids loved the horses and walking the fence line path in the misty mountain rain. Host responded very quickly and was very accommodating and friendly. My only suggestion would be a wood burning fire pit (personal preference). The propane fire pit is nice to. Thanks again!
This is a beautiful, quiet property. Perfect location-quiet, secluded, yet not far from restaurants, shopping. and about 35 minutes from Liberty University.
This home is super clean, has everything you need for a getaway, you only need your own food! Plenty of seating, comfortable beds, internet access/TV, outdoor seating.
Excellent communication from the owner. We would definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay. The property and the cabin were gorgeous. We had a great time playing games and getting the kids away from their phones and electronics for a long weekend. It was also so cool to see the horses each morning. We would definitely stay here again.
If you are looking for a very private, spot surrounded by trees, horses, and clear air, this is your spot. The cottage is great and the host who lives within walking distance was very responsive to needs. I took a 7 mile jog down the country road without seeing a single car, but passing multiple old barns, open fields and the backside of a black bear meandering into the woods. Manages to feel like the middle of nowhere while being less than 10 minutes from anything you need to pick up in Lovinston..
We had an absolute blast staying here. Seeing horses every day was a treat in itself but also being able to interact with them, even better! The cabin was clean and cozy and my boys LOVED the loft. We were able to hike right on the property and were joined by the owners dog! What a bonus! Kathy and Chris were excellent hosts and responded quickly to any question I had. I would absolutely come back.
Beautiful farm that is quite secluded. Nice get away from it all. We stayed here for a ski trip to Wintergreen, and it was a bit of a drive to the resort (45 minutes). But, it was nice to stay "away from it all".
The property certainly felt far and away from city life. Plenty of space in the house and with books, movies and board games to use. Yes, as previous reviewer mentioned there were some crickets the day we arrived that greeted us but they cleared out that same night with all the movement of people in the home. We enjoyed our stay and our walk around the farm to meet the horses and their dog Bo.
We had such a lovely time at Kathy's cabin. We were looking for a getaway after Christmas since we usually travel to see family but couldn't this year due to the pandemic. Our hope was to watch movies, play games, take walks, and really just lay low to rest and recoup. The cabin was absolutely perfect for this. It's on three floors--gathering area, galley kitchen, and dining room on the first floor; gathering area and two bedrooms on the second; and a loft with two bunk beds on the third. The spaces were homey and cozy--the top floor especially, with the kids' bunks, was adorable--and we never even felt the need to leave the property. We took hikes in the hills around the farm every day, and our kids loved getting to say hello to the horses. We brought everything we needed for cooking, but the kitchen was also well-equipped, especially with plenty of place settings and lots of cooking utensils. The cabin is well off the main road--you will feel like you are removed from everything--but there's also a grocery store and a few restaurants, etc. within about a 15-minute drive. Be prepared for some ladybugs and a few crickets; this didn't bother us at all, and the house was very clean, but over the course of the days we were there, the ladybugs especially were happy to find a warm place to go. :) You'll find a nice collection of board games and novels, plus a few movies, and homey touches throughout. Kathy and her family were very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our visit just what we were hoping for. Our kids are already lobbying for a return trip!
