This charming Victorian home offered everything you would need and then some. We were impressed with the property and the fun backyard. It was clean and well maintained.I will definitely recommend this property to friends and family looking for a place to stay in town.
Enjoyed our time in Guttenberg! Very old home but clean! Nice to have room to make meals and hang out! Didn’t spent a ton of time at the house itself but did enjoy outdoor games in the evenings! House had everything we needed other than disposable plates and silverware. Host was very responsive and easy to work with!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Inn. We had tons of space for our family of 6. Everything we could have needed was included in the house: utensils, games, spices, fans, towels, smart tvs, all of it. That made the stay very convenient. Loved how close to the river and businesses that we were and super convenient to the Rathskeller (German bar) across the alley. Property owner was great about communication and accommodating us. Two small suggestions/comments for constructive feedback: we found a spiderweb and spider in one of the utensil drawers and the bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms was creaky anytime we moved or rolled over. All in all, we highly recommend.
Our extended family stayed at this house and had plenty of space to spread out. The house was clean and had lots of extra bedding, towels, fans, etc. anything we needed we could easily find in the house. It was also close to downtown and 1 block from the river. We will stay here again if we come back to the area.
My parents family is from Guttenberg and I have spent many summers and weekends there. We truly enjoyed our stay and the house had great space to host our family! We will book again in the future and we loved the outside space as well!
The Golden Inn was a great location near town and the Mississippi. It had plenty of space for everyone to spread out but cozy enough that we could all enjoy being together. The amenities were excellent! Beds were comfortable, plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Definitely would go back!
We enjoyed this lovely home. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, including seasonings. We four women especially appreciated 2 full bathrooms and the full sized refrigerator. Rain interrupted our plans for a “ campfire “, but we were pleased to see firewood ready for our use. We had a peaceful relaxing time
There are so many things I loved about this house I could write a book about it. As a mom of four kids, from kindergarten to high school, this was such a great house for our family. It had tons of games, books, and toys for all ages. The house is roomy for a vacation home and we never felt like we were on top of one another. I love the location, one block from the river, centrally located in town, nice yard for kids to play in or just sit out in the shade. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you need (including an apron which I genuinely appreciate). There were plenty of bath and kitchen towels, it just had everything I needed. The owners were fantastic at communication and truly set the house up for us to have an amazing vacation. Thank you!!!!
The house is spacious and includes everything you could need. I have rented houses in many states, but the Golden Inn is the only place I have stayed that included all the extras like toilet paper, spices, cleaning supplies, soaps, etc. We were excited to see the Cornhole boards, and we made use several times of the fire pit in the back yard.
We had two families staying together and we had plenty of space. There is a room full of kids toys, games, and movies which were a huge hit.
Location is great. Just a block off the river, close to the grocery store, and far enough from the train tracks they don't keep you up at night. Plenty of parking.
The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we could need.
We had a minor glitch with the tv in one of the bedrooms and Kristin responded within minutes and we were up and running again. She was extremely communicative and friendly, and we look forward to booking our return trip with her for next year!
We had a lovely stay at the Golden Inn. It is a charming old house in a great location. Everything was very clean, Kristen’s communication was timely and helpful and the firewood and area info brochures were an added bonus.
