Witcher Roost located with Lake Front and Mountain Views.

Witcher Roost is a quiet hidden retreat located in a State Forest Reserve surrounded with woods and wildlife. Private no wake cove with deep clean clear water great for fishing, floating, or swimming and just minutes away from the main part of the lake.
Views of the cove from the upper private deck, and patio on the lower level to watch the wildlife abound. Upper Deck with a gas grill is available for your use. Relax and float in our quiet cove outside the bustle of the main lake channel or just enjoy the beautiful views from the dock with electricity and lighting. There are many activities to enjoy outside of the lake. There are several wineries local to the area. Visit the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Booker T. Washington's childhood home, explore the many trails at Smith Mountain State Park, or you can venture further onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is literally something for everyone!

Witcher Roost is designed for families to have fun and relax with areas for all to be together as well as spaces for those that want to have their quiet alone time.

Main Level:
- Sliding door leading to the Upper Deck overlooking the lake. Great for your morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening.
- Kitchen equipped with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, 14-cup coffee maker, Keurig and refrigerator with ice maker and all amenities you may need to make / enjoy your favorite meal.
- Living Room with couch and love seat sofa and Smart TV adaptable with a variety of apps and DVD player.
- Master Bedroom with King Bed, attached Full Bathroom and Smart TV. (Linens are not provided)
- 2nd Bedroom with Queen Bed and TV, firestick capable. (Linens are not provided)
- Full Bathroom accessible from Hall.
- Washer and Dryer Laundry Room

Downstairs:
- Exit to a large open patio for your outdoor dining pleasures as you overlook the lake.

Another great stay at Witcher Roost!

We stayed here before and loved the location (next to Cedar Key wildlife preserve), the comfortable and well equipped house, and that we could bring our dog. Now we have 2 dogs and both had a great time. Husbands caught bass right off the dock again, and my dog had such fun playing with the neighbor dogs next door. A movable kitchen island has been added which our chef loved!!the walk to the dock is a pretty steep hill but that’s the only drawback. Can’t wait to return!

Quiet location, wonderful stay

We had an amazing stay at this property! The house is beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was peaceful and relaxing. Communication with the property owner was seamless; they were quick to respond to any questions and made check-in a breeze. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great getaway!

Time Away in the Mountains

This is a lovely house and property on Witcher Creek. The backyard leads down to the dock and fishing there is so much fun! The house is very well kept and offers enough space for multigenerational families. You can see deer from the kitchen sink and at night there are so many stars! Some shooting stars too! The town of Moneta had some great offerings if you want but getting local.honey and local beef were some hoghlights. Overall this is a great retreat to get out of town and recharge! Donna is a great host and very quick to respond. A great trip!

Anniversary trip

The house and the property were great, the hill in the back yard is a bit steep but I made due. It was great to have a dock to put my boat, that way I could tie it up at night and go on it first thing in the morning

Wonderful!

This house is wonderful! The rooms are large with plenty of closet space and each room has a fan (great for when it hit 100 during our stay)! The kitchen had everything we could've wanted. The living room was comfortable and the view from the deck was beautiful. We loved that the house was at the end of a little cove off the lake because it made it so quiet and peaceful! We rented a boat for a few days so having dock access was awesome! The only downside that should be mentioned is that the house sits up on a hill from the waterfront and that hill is a killer! Very steep and cumbersome so plan accordingly. We limited ourselves to one trip down and one trip up a day lol. If anyone has mobility issues, it could be a problem. Overall though we had a great time and highly recommend the SML area!

Total awesomeness

We have been coming to the lake for over 9 years and this is our only house thats a repeat stay . Donna is always available to help and always willing to help with whatever comes up . The house was great for all of our lake activities and using the lift is a big plus being a boat owner . Most places dont offer a lift for use. On rainy days the pool table kept us entertained for sure . The other large plus is the ease of the driveway with my trailer and having a car port to use to keep the sun off my car interior. Donna is such a sweetheart that we will be coming back again . The house was clean and well supplied and Just to deal with her was a pleasure .

Mid September 2023

The house was very clean and well stocked. We had brought all of the supplies on the list but there were several already on site. Kitchen was very well stocked. We enjoyed the pool table and had no issues with wifi connection. The dock was nice and we launched our kayaks every day. We even caught one small fish the one day we threw our lines out. It is a steep hill to the dock. Nice quiet no wake cove was perfect for kayaking. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Smith Mountain Lake adventures

House was clean, comfortable, and provided adventures for grandparents and kids. 2 floors, both with outside walkouts. Canoes, pool table, darts. Some games and toys. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. Helpful, friendly neighbors, and attentive owners. Electricity went out a couple times, and owners kept us informed. Bummer of a hill walking down to make, but that’s par for SML. No nearby conveniences. White House convenience store is the closest and and is hopping. The oldsters went to the dam visitors center , and it was impressive. Did kayaking in the no wake creek. If you like to guess what animals visited the yard the night before through tracks and droppings, this place is for you! Next to nature refuge land.
