About this property

⭐Free Parking⭐ - Walk to Downtown & MUSC

Summary:
The Parson Inn is located in historic downtown Charleston one block from Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Our Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood is considered the "Gateway to the Peninsula". There are a number of local restaurants, bakeries, and other small boutiques. A spa, yoga studio and an Italian sandwich cafe are within steps of the the front door. The Room has a shared bathroom with one other guest room. Parking is provided onsite for one car.
Cert of Ops - OP2018-00253

The Space:
The house is a traditional Charleston single house built in 1852. It has been renovated but still has its historic charm.

The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood is surrounded by the Medical University of South Carolina. It is a vibrant community that is just a few blocks from King Street, where you will find restaurants, bars and shops galore. Our neighborhood has restaurants, a yoga studio and a spa within steps of the house.

Getting Around:
You can either walk, bike or Uber to most any place. There is also a free shuttle that transports visitors to the city center. Parking is supplied onsite for one car and there is street parking available for other cars. The MUSC parking garage is also just steps away. We suggest an economy size vehicle to navigate the narrow downtown Charleston streets.

Other Things to Note:
A microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker are provided in the room.

Cute and convenient

Great location. Very nice old house. The only downside, is that you have to share a bathroom with other guests. I wish that was more clearly stated on the listing. Thank you for a great visit!

NO PRIVATE BATHROOM

perfect room and comfortable amenities provided. Bathroom shown in photo was not private or attached to room. I would have NOT booked this room if I knew that we would be SHARING with other guests. This should be more clearly noted in the listing.

Weekend in Charleston

We had a wonderful time staying at the Parson Inn. It was not too far from downtown and only about a 20 minute drive to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely come back!

Well located clean but noisy

Good location - walked to all the sights in 30-40 mins, clean and comfortable bed. The noise being an old property was an issue for us, both the sirens/helicopters (it’s next to ED) and the internal noise of us/others creaking up and down stairs in the night to the shared bathroom. Heavy sleepers would be fine though.

Nice spot close to colleges and King St.

Our stay was lovely! The only downside was the bathroom being on the second floor and our room being on the third floor. Separate bathroom was on the listing I just wasn’t aware it wasn’t on the same floor.

Problems started on the front porch. No manager on-site. Front door locked. Pressed doorbell and got a recording that no one was available. Called on the telephone, same result. Half an hour of waiting for a return call — none came — and called again. This time someone answered. She said she'd sent me an e-mail but none came. Told me the code for entering the building. Room on the third floor — no elevator — bathroom/shower on the second floor. Bathroom shared with other building occupants. Manager said this was disclosed on their website but the acknowledged that other people had trouble seeing anything about that, too. Trucks driving by all night long, huge noise.

There could not have been more attentive and gracious hosts than the Parsons We needed assistance twice, and they were johnny on the spot. The property is very clean, and it is in a walkable restaurant-accessible neighborhood. I recommend staying here.

Great first time staying in an Inn

Room was clean and airy. There was an individual hvac unit and air purifier so the room wasn't stuffy. The bed was low but was very comfortable and soft. The room was on the third floor and the stairs weren't that bad. The Inn was full but we very rarely heard any of the other guests. The free parking behind the Inn was a plus. The lobby had a table with complimentary snacks and we were given a complimentary bottle of wine which was very nice and unexpected. Even though the bathroom was shared, it was kept clean. I would definitely recommend this property for single travelers and couples.

Very cozy and accommodating

We really enjoyed our stay at Parson Inn. I initially missed that there was a shared bathroom but we had no issues with shared usage. The place was very cozy, clean and quiet. Karen is a wonderful hostess who was very quick to help with an AC issue we had. She was incredibly quick to respond and fix the issue. The value was fantastic and close to everything. Would definitely stay again!

Great location and well maintained but terrible bed.

Potentially excellent value let down by lumpy mattress and awkward access through narrow door to 3rd floor room.

Short, Sweet Stay

This was a cute little place to stay and hang out while visiting the area. We walked to eat at the Pink Cactus, and enjoyed a coffee from the Gnome Cafe right next door. I walked to the Citadel for an event. We Ubered to a couple of places but walked part way back. You can easily walk to downtown, etc. but the heat had us opting for rides a couple of times. The owner was easy to communicate with. There were snacks, etc provided. If we go back to Charleston we would stay there again!
